I'm giving intermittent fasting a shot and have so many questions. so, my eating window is from 1pm to 9pm and I fast from 9pm to 1 pm. I am wanting to train in the mornings in a fasted state but my schedule doesn't allow so I was thinking of maybe doing pushups and sit-ups at home before I go to work just so I can get some kind of exercise in while I'm in my fasted state.

Another question I have is what is the best food to break a fast with. Should it be high in carbs, or protein, etc.???

lastly, I have a stimulant free pre workout that I use simply for pumps while I workout but it says it has 5 calories in it, not sure what from but I'm assuming some sort of sweetener. will this supplement mess up my fasted state??

Forgot to mention that the reason I am giving this a shot is to try and drop around 5 pounds of fat before I focus on a lean bulk.

IF is not magical for fatoss or weightloss. it is a lifestyle and a way to confine your calories. You can lose 5 pounds without IF and meals throughout the day which is more optimal for MPS (Muscle Protein syntheis)

i would suggest reading up on IF as this has all been addressed

even a simple search on Leangains or Intermittent fasting gives you countless articles that detail the diet and how to set it up and what foods people utilize.
The food choices should be individual to you and what digests best, not what others do and have had success with. You need to learn your own body and modify the amounts you use and portions to suit your caloric needs.
