So I worked my legs this morning and feel like running a few miles tonight. Is that a good idea or to much?

Separated workouts shouldn't greatly impact you. You slightly increase your chance of injury while running, but listen to your body & stop if you find your running form getting sloppy

Moreover, unless you make your living off of your training, it really isn't that crucial that you train "optimally". If you want to run, run

Go for it. I commonly run bleachers or steps after legs. The running isn't the main focus. Lifting first and eat appropriately.

Make sure to foam roll the legs prior to and after your run.

Of course you can go run. I train legs heavy twice a week and still ride my bike 20miles daily and get in a 3-4 mile run with the dog eod.
