Triggering mass growth with higher reps to failure?

My apologies if I'm beating a dead horse BUT..

Towards the end of a workout..lets say arm day.. I throw in additional sets with light weight to failure.

10-12 reps with failure at the last rep. Do these sets with lighter weight cause as much microtrauma as my first few sets with heavy weight?

I'm sure this has been answered a million times.. sorry guys!

Thanks!

I wouldn't always finish as such but a good finishing exhaustion set a few times a week I do like, and advise for anyone looking to make a routine change to add a challenge.

Yes it will contribute to growth, there is no way to really compare it to heavy/low rep work, and the "trauma" from the finishing set will also be dependant on the lifts prior.

If you like them, do them. Run the rack, do a drop set, challenge yourself until you cant move the limb,
Lol

Remember there are so many ways to cause muscular hypertrophy.

-mechanical stress
-metabolic stress
-cell swelling
etc.

Try to take advantage of all of them to grow
