Palm pain with pull-ups

I am new to the forums so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place for this sort of question. I recently added pronated grip pull-ups to my work out, and after a few weeks started to notice a painful "popping" sensation in the palm of my dominant hand, between the metacarpals of my index and middle finger. The pain occurs during the concentric phase of the lift, when my elbows are at approximately 90 degrees. It does not happen with any other exercise, regardless of pronated/supinated grip, pulling/pushing, etc, or while playing tennis. Does anyone know what might be causing this, or have any tips for how to avoid it?

In for this. I am curious what it could be.

You can try those finger less gloves some power lifters like to wear or just wait until your hands are a little more calloused.
