    Bands

My gym got some bands in recently and I used them today for flexibility and mobility. I want to work most on opening up my hips and work on stretching my hamstrings. What are some of the most popular stretches and exercises for those things and just in general? Right now, I am doing X Walks and pulling the band apart in front and back of me for my shoulders.

The very first one here seems as though it would be effective for your hips:

I very much like the over and backs you're talking about. They stretch the chest and shoulders good and provide a nice pump.

Interested in the inputs here. Adding bands to my lifts have helped a lot.

Ahhh you've gotta take a look at http://www.mobilitywod.com

Amazing vids in there, exactly what you're looking for. I use bands a lot as well. The thicker bands as well as voodoo floss bands. Flossing is nothing short of amazing.

Oh yes, flossing. I have heard a lot about that but have never tried it. I couldn't remember the word yesterday.

I will look at both of these sites a little later. Thanks guys!

Also, if I am going to purchase a thinner and thicker band, what size do I look for or what wording?

Np. I use the green and black rogue bands found here:

    http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-monster-bands

The green and black ones should be good for most purposes, and should last you a while.

I also use the black voodoo bands, but almost time to upgrade to the red ones:

It's going to depend on the manufacturer as to the wording they use.

What band you should grab is also going to depend on what usage/movements you want to get out of them.
