Need advice on this leg routine.

I'm currently training at home, so I don't have all the equipment a gym has.

I'm thinking of using this routine:

Heavy barbell squats: 6 sets of 6

Dumbell lunges: 3 sets of 10

    Extensions: 3 sets of 10

I really need to add some mass to my legs, does this look too light, should I up the volume?

Also, calves will be trained on different day.

    Thanks.

Definitely would add some more volume to training. Or at least work up to volume GVT is awesome 10 sets of 10 on three or four exercises

id do something of a 5x5 type of setup where you go heavy squats mixed with heavy deads to keep your legs balanced. if you build those quads too much without any attention to the glutes/hamstring compelx, youre gonna have knee problems in the future. im not saying do oth on the same day though, thats just bad lol

whats your goal? strength, size, weight loss, maintain?

5X5 10X10 all those high rep training programs are amazing but yes. Be sure to balance out your routine. Of you do 5 sets of leg extensions make sure you do 5 sets of leg curls or something that will specifically work your hamstrings.

Well I do deadlifts on back day.

    Size is priority #1, lol.

    Sounds interesting.

I'll consider uping the volume, but I have to admit, 40 sets seems like it might be excessive if any considerable weight is used.

GVT you pick one movement for each muscle group and do ten sets of ten. I usually go with leg press and hack squats when I train with this style

On your deadlift day do you incorporate any other hamstring movements?

Yes, and leg curls are a very poor choice for primary hamstring development and strength. Chose a good hip base hamstring exercise, such as RDL, good morning, glute-ham-hip-extension or glute-ham-raise, etc.

There was a good article on elitefts this month about the good morning, check it out,
