How to include swimming in physique training

I am switching to a gym with a pool and might as well put it to use. I'm wondering opinions on how I should incorporate swimming as cardio. I currently do hiit on treadmill m/w/f with weight training and usually do lagging muscles on tues/thurs with no cardio. Should I swap out oneof my hiit sessions for hiit inthe pool? Or perhaps add in a few light laps on a lag day to help with keeping as lean as possible. Goal is constant recomp year round with occasional mini cut or bulk as needed.

Use it in place of your HIIT on the treadmill. Will give your hips and lower body a nice break, and might even help develop your chest and lats a bit on the upper body synonymous to how sprinting would develop hams/quads.
