Can Ibuprofen mess up a workout?

    Can Ibuprofen mess up a workout?


    My wrist has been bothering me for about 3 weeks. I was able to bench press 2 weeks ago, but I took last week off. Today I tried to bench but my wrist was hurting, I didn't feel like not working out, so I took one of my grandmother's ibuprofen 800mg and I was able to do the first two sets first set 11 reps, second set 10 reps barely and the third set I couldn't do more than 4 reps. Two weeks ago I was able to do 10 reps for all sets. I'm askign because after I took the pill I feel sort of light headed. Anyone else experience anything like this?

    get some wrist wraps instead. since i started using them all pain has gone away when doing pressing. i dont even use them all the time and the pain is still gone.

    Yeah I tried the wraps didn't help with pressing with the bar, I was able to use them to get me through pressing with dumbbells...I'm just too stubborn to wait until my wrist heals I guess. I only have the cheap wraps thoguh not the kind the pros wear.

    i tried cheap ones and they didnt help at all for me. a quality pair makes a huge difference. remember you are trying to cast the wrist to minimize bending so you want a stiff pair. you want to place the load on the wrap and not the wrist.

    but if you are injured then you are going to need to take time to let that heal as well. try using a suicide grip when possible. i find i can easily do that with an axle. even without wraps i can hit 70-80% without pain.
