Morning training?

  1. Morning training?

Anyone else here hits weights in the morning?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of morning training?

I'm in a new gym and I noticed its abit crowded in the afternoon and I don't really like it.
I hated every minute of training, but I said, "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion." -Muhammad Ali

  2. I go around 10-11 pm

Lift the fücking weight from the floor, or leave it on the ground. The thoughts are supposed to be daunting. The pain is meant to be tormenting.

  3. I lift in the morning most of the time. Depending on how heavy I'm lifting, sometimes it affects my top end strength a little bit, but not much. It just feels good to start my day that way.

  4. I lift in the morning, sometimes late morning. It is where I can fit it in. I too find that I can't go quite as hard as early afternoon, but I'll be damned if I'm going to re-arrange my whole schedule AND put up with peak hour crowds...

  5. I go around 0330-0400. There's rarely anyone else lifting at that time, so I love it.

Working out between 0700 and 2200 makes me want to punt kittens into a woodchipper.
Don't worry, man, someday I'ma be nobody too.

  6. I did weights in the morning for the first time today and I noticed I didin't have a very good performance

  7. You will have to get used to it. You are not used to performing at that time of the day. If it is something that will really help out your schedule then don't give up based on one day's performance. If you don't have any competitions or anything coming up I would definitely give yourself time to form the habit. If it still doesn't work out you'll be more than happy to return to the schedule you are currently used to. Did you use any pre-workout supplements? Pump-Fuel, etc? Maybe a stim based pre-workout will help you out in the transition to mornings.

Yea I warmed up on the treadmill for 10 minutes, I always do before weights. It didin't seem to help tho. I think I'm dropping the morning training and going back to afternoons.

  9. Early am training has its pro's and con's. Lifting early made me feel great all day at work afterwards knowing I accomplished it and had free time to do whatever. The downside of it was strength and endurance was in the gutter. I felt best eating a banana and having a prewo with a lot of stims. Still doesn't compare to pm training.

  10. I'm not gonna quit/give up/not push because of it, its just not ideal but one of the great things about being human is just how damn adaptable we are!

  11. I've actually switched up to an AM workout from 530-630. At first it was much more difficult but it actually really helped me come over a plateau since it requires more strength in the morning to lift.

  12. Just got a new job where I work 8 to 8 most of the week so I've been hitting the gym at 5am. It's gonna take some getting used to...

This is why your name is ManBeast!

I don't know if I'm ''giving up'' I simply rearranged my schedule abit and squeezed gym into 14.00 - 16.00 :P

And I get much better workouts than in the mornings and its not crowded at all!

  14. If my ability to judge busy by parking lot fullness is even remotely accurate, at that time, my gym is like the only kegger in a 1 mile radius that the entire campus happens to know about...

  15. Performing lifts that put a lot of stress on the spine aren't the best idea if you haven't been awake and upright for more than 30 minutes. Other than that, morning training is the tits.

  16. now... are we talking natural and perky D cups? or what?

  17. I'm surprised many of you guys like morning training

I'm doing powerbuilding atm which focuses on strength training and it really bothers me that I can't push as much in the morning as I can in the afternoon

For example I do bench press 7 sets of 3 reps and 170lbs
In the morning I do 7 sets, 3 reps and 140lbs

I believe that I get more out of my afternoon workouts because I'm able to push more.
