Max competition at local gym

  1. Max competition at local gym

I am going to participate in a max competion at a local gym. It includes bench and squats. I was just wondering if anyone could help me with what they do for max....reps weight etc...day of. The contest is saturday and I think I am going to take today and friday off. really have never been a max person so anything will help. Thanks.

  2. No help???

  3. Warm up correctly. Light aerobic, dynamics movements, then specific movements.
Stretch your antagonist muscles statically. This means the traps and rhomboids for the bench, and the hip flexors for squat.
    Keep a positive mind set.
    Good luck.

Agreed. Also work your antagonists to maintain balance - pull for every push, preferable in the same plane of motion.

    Standing Press / Pullup
    Barbell Row / Bench Press
    Curl / Tricep exercise
    etc.
