  1. smith machine bar weight

how much does the smith machine bar weigh?

  2. 10 pounds. if the machine is not greased properly, the friction can make it feel like more.

  3. I've been told it weighs 45lbs

pretty sure its 10. its the fixed plane (range of motion) that makes it seem like more. man, now you got me 2nd guessing myself.

  7. i recall asking a personal trainer the same question and they told me 45lbs... the olympic bars are 45lbs and the smith machine bars are solid and wide on the ends they got to weigh close to the same

  8. i'm going to test this out tomorrow just to be sure. you've planted the seeds of doubt in my mind.

  9. I would say about 20-25 lbs...just going off of how much weight difference it usually makes for me per set. But you also have to think about every smith machine probably not being created equal.

  10. good point. i'll weigh mine tomorrow for gits and shiggles
