Adderall W/ Supplements?

Hey there,

At the moment I am 6'0, 185 pounds. I take 10 mg adderall not time release once a day, but am perscribed to twice a day. I take 10 mg adderall in the morning and run at about 6 PM. I try to run 3 days a week and lift 3. I do not know much about workouts and weight loss, so any help would be nice.

I just want to know 1) If adderall before a workout or run is unhealthy?, and 2) If i have already metabolized the adderall that I take in the morning, would taking an extra supplement before I run, workout, or sleep benefit me? Which supplements?

I am not perscribed the medicine, although i believe i should be, but I have taken them plenty of times before. I actually took a 20mg XR this morning. So I am on one now. I'm 5'10 172lbs fyi.

I can tell you that your heart rate will definitely increase while you are excercising. You will sweat more too. So be careful. Also, do not take any supplements that have a stim in them unless you are sure you can tolerate the effects of stacking an amphetamine with another stim. Not wise, but i have indeed done it before.

Are you familiar with VPX Redline? If so maybe this will put what i said into perspective.
If i take a 20mg adderall xr in the morning around 8am, then by 4:30pm when it is time for me to workout i'll take 1/4 bottle of redline. Now compare that to when i do not take adderall, i drink the entire bottle of redline to get the same type of stim effect. The stims in the redline seem to almost "re-up" the stim effects of the adderall i took earlier.

Sooo. My advice and opinion is to know how your body responds to stimulants before you take anything else while on it. Adderall is a very powerful stim. Its an amphetamine. And it even says on the bottle not to consume ANY caffeine.

10mg of regular adderall is really not a "high dosage" and if your taking it in the morning and working out in the evening i think your pretty safe to take some sort of pre-workout sup. you might want to start at the lowest dose of the pre-WO sup at first to see how it effects you. if it was adderall XR, i might say be even more careful as the half life of XR is about twice that of regular adderall. as far as taking adderall before hitting the gym, i cant say it is exactly healthy as adderall in general is not exactly good for you. but if you want to try this break the pill in half and try that first, although i dont recommend taking extra adderall just to hit the gym. taking adderall later in the evening might effect what time you are able to sleep as well so take that in to consideration, same goes for any stimulant. you dont want to get in the habit of taking something to counter act a stimulant just so you can get to sleep, take my word for it. to be completely honest, dont get into the habit of taking adderall at times other then when its absolutely needed, like school for example...trust me.
 
i was prescribed to it in high school. 10 mg really is not that bad. i had to quit because of the decrease in hunger
 
i appreciate it...my adderall is completely metabolized by the time i work out...but what would you suggest for pre WO Supplements?

and as for adderall!! dude..its a drug!!.. after 10+ years on the stuff, id like to tell u that it is in no way shape or form a supplement... get ur diet together and start pounding the weights.
 
if i were u i wouldent take anything but antioxidents before a run on adderall.. just my opinion

and npinto stated that u sweat more when ur on it.. u sweat because uve taken a tad too much... i got up to 60mg at a time then 20mg later in the day.. before i knew it i was zoning out thinking about everything i needed to get done, while taking care of non of them...just trippin

coming clean cold turkey is violent to say the least... depression is part of it! waking up drentched in sweat is nothing compared to the mental breakdown!!
 
its not time release, it is totally metabolized by the time i run or workout, and its only 10 mg a day. i only use my adderall when i really need it at work or at school.

I would definitely stay hydrated first of all. As far as supplements go, hawthorne berry for blood pressure is good, and in my other posts and blogs I have talked about a wide array of supplements that I have used while taking Adderall to stay healthy, lean, and muscular.
