Allright guys so i work 2 different jobs, trying to make the ends meet. I've been doing it for just about 6 months and i feel like sh*t. The problem is that i don't sleep at a specific time. A few nights a week i sleep from about 1 AM to 9 AM and the rest of the nights from about 6 AM to 2PM. I feel tired and groggy most of the time and i'm feeling a little depressed. It's been so long since i've woken up feeling refreshed. I know that what i'm currently doing is not the best thing for my body, but i need to do it. So does anyone have any suggestions?

cAMP! Don't know what it is about that stuff, but I really feel so much more rested and refreshed and I rarely get any more than 6 hours of sleep. Although, when I wake up in the middle of the night, it's hard to get back to sleep. It's just so easy to wake up on the stuff, which can be a bad thing if you're only up for a midnight piss.

Sorry to hear about the job situation man. If you are not taking Xtend, then try that. Unfortunately getting enough sleep is just what you have to try to do.

I've started on lean dreams and take it about an hour before whatever time i'm going to bed and it's helped a lot. It doesn't crash you but just seems to allow a nice sleep and when I wake up I feel fine.

Many have reported EXCELLENT sleep and a large boost in Vitality during the day while supplementing with Poseidon.

Poseidon (450 grams) By Nimbus Nutrition

Run a search on it and read about others experience's. I think you'll find the solution/supplement your searching for.

You want to be sure your diet is in order first of all. When peoples schedule gets "out of the norm" they tend to eat terribly. This can contribute greatly to fatigue, etc...

Powerful has been simply awesome for what you seek. Others worthy of mention are Camphobolic, and
Activate. Have not tried these but hear good things: Lean Dreams, REM3, pGHT.

a good multi along with extra b-complex throughout the day should help alot. I take my multi with breakfast & bedtime shake & break b-50's into halves & take a halve with 2 or 3 of my daily meals.

So far i've got cAMP, Xtend, lean dreams, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Poseidon, Powerful, Camphobolic, Activate, Lean Dreams, REM3, pGHT. Guess i'll start readin up on them. Thanks again

Poseidon and powerfull give me great sleep, didn't really notice anything sleep wise on Activate(although it's really good in the gym). The others I can't comment on as I've yet to use them.

Honestly, the best thing for me when I have a hectic schedule like yours is one of the OTC sleep aids (diphenylhydramine HCL, etc). IMO they will be much more effective at putting you to sleep than any of the supplements mentioned.

As far as after you've woken up, give Clear Edge a shot. It's really cheap over at NP right now and honestly, I've never used a caffiene free nootropic supplement that is this effective. I know exactly the feeling that you are describing....as far as waking up groggy...and this supplement is the only one that's really worked for me (even when caffiene doesnt help).

Another thing (which isn't a supplement) that you might want to try is deprenyl. I've found this to be extremely good when I have a sleep schedule as far as yours, and really seems to be quite good for reducing depression. Good luck!

When I know I only have 4 or 5 hours to sleep and I know that when I wake up I have to be in "GO!" mode. I'm talking no screwing around "hit the snooze button, rub one out in the shower" I'm talking "GO!GO!GO!" mode right when I wake up.

I take 200-400mg Yohimbe Extract or 4-8mg yohimbine, right before I goto bed. One or the other not both and don't exceed this doage or you might only sleep 1 or 2 hours.

This allows me to sleep REALLY deep for only about 4 or 5 hours, and then wake up with a ****load of energy.

You will crash a couple hours after waking up though and that is the downside. I recommend keeping a bottle of sugarfree Redbull with you for when you crash.

Pgh, Muira Puama extract, and one of my "go to supplements" if not "the one and only "go to supplement" (Maca) for sleep, depression and challenging Peter North to a duration and distance contest, yeehaa! Just got back on my 4:1 extract 2 days ago. Me and the old lady went to town last night and I should have filmed it and started a website! She's on it too and she goes from prudish to pornstar with a rounded teaspoon in the morning. Her skills most certainly improve on the stuff. All hail MACA! Yeah! MACA! I'm gonna hit it when she gets home, hells yea!:hammer: Tap that azz and go mow the lawn, no problem.

Primarily sleep. I don't have any sleep issues, aside from getting only 5-6 hours a night 365 nights a year. I fall asleep quickly and never wake up or sleep restlessly. But from my first dose, I experienced sleep deeper than I knew possible.

I didn't experience the fat loss many do, but then again I'm bulking all the time.

The next to things I won't attribute to pght, because I don't know; I have no clue what else it could be, though:

I did have a nasty burn scar on my arm, that was a year old, which disappeared. It went from livid (or lurid?) to unnoticable. I noticed it was gone one day while driving. I then asked a couple co-workers, they were shocked.

I also had some little hairs sprouting at my receding hairline.

I find both of those fascinating. ;)

I'll keep taking it for sleep alone. I just ordered two more bottles.

I have customers who rave about Yerba_mate, but for me the xanthines tear my stomach up like coffee, tea, kola nut, and gurana :-(

Yerba mate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chemical composition and properties
Yerba mate with stems
Yerba mate with stems

Mate contains xanthines, which are alkaloids in the same family as caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine, well-known stimulants also found in coffee and chocolate. Mate also contains elements such as potassium, magnesium and manganese [2]. Caffeine content varies between 0.3% and 1.7% of dry weight (compare this to 2.5–4.5% for tea leaves, and 1.5% for ground coffee).

Mate products are sometimes marketed as "caffeine-free" alternatives to coffee and tea, and said to have fewer negative effects. This is often based on a claim that the primary active xanthine in mate is "mateine", erroneously said to be a stereoisomer of caffeine (as it is not chemically possible for caffeine to have a stereoisomer). "Mateine" is an official synonym of caffeine in the chemical databases.

Researchers at Florida International University in Miami have found that yerba mate does contain caffeine, but some people seem to tolerate a mate drink better than coffee or tea. This is expected since mate contains different chemicals (other than caffeine) from tea or coffee.

From reports of personal experience with mate, its physiological effects are similar to (yet distinct from) more widespread caffeinated beverages like coffee, tea, or guarana drinks. Users report a mental state of wakefulness, focus and alertness reminiscent of most stimulants, but often remark on mate's unique lack of the negative effects typically created by other such compounds, such as anxiety, diarrhea, "jitteriness", and heart palpitations.

Reasons for mate's unique physiological attributes are beginning to emerge in scientific research. Studies of mate, though very limited, have shown preliminary evidence that the mate xanthine cocktail is different from other plants containing caffeine most significantly in its effects on muscle tissue, as opposed to those on the central nervous system, which are similar to those of other natural stimulants. Mate has been shown to have a relaxing effect on smooth muscle tissue, and a stimulating effect on myocardial (heart) tissue[2].

Mate's negative effects are anecdotally claimed to be of a lesser degree than those of coffee, though no explanation for this is offered or even credibly postulated, except for its potential as a placebo effect. Many users report that drinking yerba mate does not prevent them from being able to fall asleep, as is often the case with some more common stimulating beverages, while still enhancing their energy and ability to remain awake at will. However, the net amount of caffeine in one preparation of yerba mate is typically quite high, in large part because the repeated filling of the mate with hot water is able to extract the highly-soluble xanthines extremely effectively. It is for this reason that one mate may be shared among several people and yet produce the desired stimulating effect in all of them.

In-vivo and in-vitro studies are showing yerba mate to exhibit significant cancer-fighting activity. Researchers at the University of Illinois (2005) found yerba mate to be "rich in phenolic constituents" and to "inhibit oral cancer cell proliferation".

An August 11, 2005 United States patent application (documents #20050176777, #20030185908[3], and #20020054926) cites yerba mate extract as an inhibitor of MAO activity; the maximal inhibition observed in vitro was 40–50%. A monoamine oxidase inhibitor is a type of antidepressant, so there is some data to suggest that yerba mate has a calming effect in this regard.

In addition, it has been noted by the U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine that yerba mate can cause high blood pressure when used in conjunction with other MAO inhibitors (such as Nardil and Parnate)[4].

Guayaki. It's toasted, which is less strong, but MUCH tastier. Just use more for more effect.

I've tried untoasted/fired mate, and it's potently grassy and 'ugh'.

I can pick up a kilo from a local Brazilian market for $7 or something silly. A Japanese market sells these teabags that you fill yourself (think old fashioned sandwich baggie, pre-ziplock, made from teabag material).

I'm assuming that you guys are referring to yerba mate tea. Which brand/type have you had success with?
good info motomatt! that pretty much sums up everything that ive noticed yerba mate has to offer.

i buy guayaki yerba mate tea bags as well as the ground stuff to brew in a coffee maker. i find that the ground mate has a stronger effect and i have yet to build a tolerance after about a year of consistently drinking it.

I brew myself a cup of Yerba Tea every morning and drink it on the way to work and it has the same effect as Wannabehulk stated it has on him, just a really awake and clear head, which is always a plus in the morning.
I mix it with locally collected honey and the taste kicks ass, highly recommend this stuff.....
