Ligament help?

I have a quick question. After searching this forum I was unable to really get any info.The ligament that runs from my elbow to my wrist is killing me. Anytime I work arms it is hell. I don't want to rip it or tear it I have reduced the weight and taken time off but is there any supps I can take to relieve the soreness or pain?
I already take Glucosimine, Chondroitin and MSM. The guy at the local vitamin store said maybe collagen. anything work for anyone?

Sounds like a problem. As usual, it's probably a good idea to let a doctor have a look at it. You'll have to be the judge of how bad it is. Sometimes supplements help, sometimes they don't. But as far as supplements go, you are looking for Applied Nutriceuticals Osteobolin-C:
I really think it could help you out. It has worked wonders for my shoulder, and there are tons of Cissus users who swear by it.

Massage! I have had problems with scar tissue build up as well as nerves being out of whack. what worked best for me was a good deep tissue massage followed by a good chiropractor. The first time i went to a chiropractor i added 20lbs to my bench the next week. just make sure you go to a real chiropractor that uses his hands and not one that uses the weird clicker thing.. cost about 100$ total for both.

are you sure this is a ligament. a muscle runs from the elbow to the wrist. ligaments are the connective tissue to hold them to and around joints. where is the pain specifically?

If you Hold your right arm in front of you like your looking at your watch. It starts under the elbow and runs the outside of the arm and under the wrist. It is also sore to the touch and if I flex my wrist or forearm. I know it's also the muscle but is is more sore at the joints(wrist and elbow). One guy in my gym said it could be the grip I was using and the fact it was a clambered or curling bar. All I know is my friggin arm hurts and it's screwing up my lifting.

are you flexing the hands away from the underside of your forearms? you might want to also try icing the muscle 20 minutes prior to working out and for 30 minutes as soon as you can after? it might be a matter of healing an injury here and finding that balance of continuing with your workouts while it heals while not reinjuring it.

You know there was another guy with the exact same problem, he even knew the name of it but for the life of me I can't remember.

Stretching and warming up with light weights will help somewhat as will using ice packs, Super Cissus-RX will also help but really you're just going to want to start stretching more and staying away from any pro-inflamatory products.

cubital tunnel syndrome. however, the only difference is this pain is underneath the arem, that one travels on sides of forearem. but check his post, a sports therapist chimed in and his advice was to stretch it out real good, etc.

No, that's not what I'm thinking of. What I'm thinking of runs from the back of the elbow along the outside of the forearm.

Don't ice before you work out. Icing after is fine, but icing before is asking for injury. Heat would be a better option, followed by some light warm ups and stretching.

if its an injury and the pain is due to swelling - heat can be disasterous and make your situation worse. only do heat if you are sure there is no swelling.

I think I had what you have. Most of the pain cam directly below the bottom of the wrist.

How far back can you bend your hand? Have you been doing any cleans lately?

Ligament problems are the worst. I have gone through this issue myself. Worst part about it is that if you take something like IBPROFEN, it will shut down protein synthesis almost completely, so that's going to pretty much put your gains to a stand-still.

I tried Super Cissus RX, and it worked great for me. I also had a small rotator cuff tear about 2yrs ago that has always given me a lingering nagging pain when I worked out, and Super Cissus seemed to cure that too.

I know where you are coming from on this 100%. I remember it hurting so bad, I couldn't even do a freakin chest warmup with the 45lb bar. Unbareable pain. Seriously, get some Super Cissus.

Not to mention, Super Cissus lowers cortisol and is a pretty good anabolic & anti-catabolic supplement.

You may want to consider getting some film on it (mri). You may have a small tear. If there is a tear, none of those supplements will help, except maybe in recovery of surgery. I have tried supp route for knee and shoulder, and it was of no help. My knee had a very small tear in the mcl and my shoulder had impingement plus some type of lesion on shoulder tendon. If it has been bothering you a long time and rest doesn't help, I would see a doc.

Active Release therapy.

Google it and find a practitioner near you. The one I go to is an ART specialist and also a chiropractor. I'm amazed every time I F myself up and within 1 visit I'm almost better. By the second or third visit I'm more then 100%.

I too have had that - especially during bicep and forearm workouts. The best thing to do is to figure out which exercise aggravates the injury - I specifically linked mine to EZ bar curls. I shut it down for 2 weeks, made sure to stretch it iced it only for the first 3 days, then applied heat and it went away by itself.

Aleve worked for me. Cissus based products may also provide some benefit but the bottom line is that you need to rest it and let some of the inflammation subside.

Release therapy is really interesting and growing healing art. mostly in part for the synergistic concepts behind it. be interested immensly if you take it on and hear of your/any progress with it.
