Centchroman (Birth Control Option)

I am doing some research on birth control options and came across centchroman. Many of the hormonal b/c options often result in reduced female sex drive and weight gain. I am dating a girl who wants to avoid both. I think most women would concur with my girl on this one. Centchroman has been around for many years and is seems to be used mostly in India. Limited studies to appear to show very high effectiveness rating (but they are limited and I need more reassurance than what I have seen).

From very limited research I have done, Centchroman is actually an SERM that works by preventing implantation only. Apparently some of the potential side effects are very close in nature to what women experience with clomiphene citrate. Many of us on AM have used serm's and clomid specifically. What do you all think of this as a birth control option? Effective? Have any of you or your wives/gf's used this?

Here is a quick John's Hopkins link just so you know a little more about it.
