Best supplement with the quickest gains

I lost 83% of my muscle mass due to a couple of shoulder surgeries. I am a professional Racquetball player and need to get my muscle back ASAP. I know all you guys on here have a huge knowledge base on what products are good and bad.
Any help would be much appreciated.

No supplement is going to get your muscle mass back. Diet and nutrition will.

Jdunk, I know that no supplement is going to get it all back. I am looking for something that is going to help me get it back faster. Obviously Nurtition and diet are huge. Those have always been the biggest part but when you go from hitting a ball at 160MPH to 90MPH because you have lost muscle you try to find anything you can to atleast help gain it back faster.

You basically asked the same question twice, in this thread and the one about superdrol.

If you lost that much muscle mass you need to get back in the gym naturally so your tendons and such build up their strength. too fast a gain and they will lag behind causing you to be out of commission again.

You should be looking at what kinds of foods and non hormonal supps and training would help in recovering this lost mass the safest way.

You won't really need a supplement after having lost that mass, perhaps Bobo can be your best investment in this case since you need a diet and training program to get you back to your old self ASAP, check out the Florida Nutrition forum for Bobo's services.

Your basic supps should be Multi Vitamins, Minerals, some anti oxidants and protein if you aren't getting enough out of your diet but that's really it at this point. Creatine and HMB would be good additions down the road.

    .

Awesome info. Everything is going to be weak due to lack of use, and if you go too quickly it will be very easy to injure yourself again. A little first hand experience is that I had back surgery last year, and I have always been a basketball player. When first coming back to the court, I sprained my ankles almost everytime due to them becoming extremely weak from lack of use. As people have already suggested, build back naturally with diet, training, and rest. Use the basic supps, and just make sure you are working hard. I think you will be surprised how quickly it will come back once you are going full force again.

    83% ?!?!

    Not 82 or 84 but exactly 83%

Dude, eat right, train, rest, it will come back quick. The last thing you need is to use supplements that promote excess strength gains while recovering from injuries. You are setting yourself up for more injuries.

Injuries happen easily...comebacks are earned the hard way.

5 grams of creatine mixed with 2 grams of beta alanine daily, and a protein intake in grams, at a minimum, equal to 70% of your overall body weight in pounds daily. Perform lower rep/heavier weight squats and deadlifts (start at 4 reps/set, 4 sets/session at at least 70% of you estimated 1-rep max, and increase until you can do 6 reps/set, 6 sets/session) at least once weekly to build up strength. Make sure you take advantage of pre- and post-workout nutrition by mixing and using carb/protein/creatine/beta alanine shakes.

After 8 weeks, see where you are, and adjust and/or add-in other exercise/nutrition/supplements accordingly.

Thanks for all the input guys. I know its 83 because my professor tested me before the surgery and after. Thats the good thing about having Doctors that work in labs and are testing shoulder muscle loss after a surgery.
