My girlfriend has problems obtaining an appetite, which one of these products works best? Apetamin, Eatmor, etc. She is looking to put on 20/25 pounds of weight that will stick.

Bulk Soy lecithin or Fearn Lecithin granules have been said to increase appetite by those that have used it for the phosphatidic acid (PA) content, while in a bulking/lean gain cycle.

They're very affordable and should help increase appetite.

This. Very cheap, great ingredient and a lot of people notice big appetite increases.

I would first look and try to find the reason for decreased appetite. It may be just natural for her, but there are many many medical reasons for impaired appetite as well which are easily treated. I have delayed gastric emptying which crushes my appetite. Cyproheptadine and domperidone work wonders to correct my medical issue.

Agreed with the above posts.

That said, is she underweight or is she healthy and just looking to put on some muscle?

If its the former, If she hasn't seen a specialist and done some tests, I wouldn't start with supplements, I'd want to find the root of the problem.

If its the latter, I'd start with lecithin granules and see if that starts the snowball down the hill. I've helped skinny friends with bad appetites put on weight and the key is getting started. Once they stick with the increased cals and resistance training for a month, their appetite naturally starts to go up and it keeps progressing that way as they put on more mass.

She was hospitalized for a couple weeks due to kidney problems and her eating habits have not returned no matter what we have tried hence why using a stimulant was an option.

Putting on weight is easy, on almost any appetite, just focus on calorie-dense foods if she's not able to eat high volumes.

Can we ask what her maintainable diet is, and her stats?

And has this always been the case for her or did the lack of appetite recently develop ?

If you just want an answer to the specific question, I'll suggest Anabeta Elite. Makes me and many who have logged it undeniably hungrier.

She was hospitalized due to kidney problems and ever since then her appetite just has not returned properly. There are times when she is just not hungry throughout the day and can only eat one meal.

And the nephrologist has since cleared her?
Was this brought to their attention?

If she is still recovering please check with him/her before supplementing anything.

If her kidneys are struggling, adding more to be filtered could actually lower appetite.

I've easily spent 20 hours in nephrologist consults by now and longer for various tests (Not anymore, cleared and healthy kidneys) I know the feeling though, if she has any questions or concerns

I would heed this advice and absolutely check in with the doctor again. If he/she is not helpful, get a second opinion and so forth. While it could be somewhat psychosomatic, I would rather be safe than sorry.

Her kidneys are back healthy no way in the world I would let her consider supplements if they were not but thanks for the concern. While hospitalized she lost the weight and now that she is healthy just does not eat enough to get to where she wants to be. She was never a big eater so eating enough to gain weight is just something she is not capable of on her own.

If this is he case there may be something else going on. I would consult a doctor first before trying other remedies.

Well, it is somewhat to be expected that her appetite would be lower. Surely she lost some muscle and thus her metabolism has taken a hit, and she also was probably eating such small amounts that her stomach has shrunk and it now takes less to satiate her. While I would still recommend seeing a doctor about this specific issue, I wouldn't be surprised if the aforementioned reasons are playing a large role in her diminished appetite. I would, at the very least, get her on calorie-dense foods (nut butters, ice cream, tasty stuff like that), and make sure she's engaged in some form of physical exercise...anything to help rebuild muscle.

It's been a while since this discussion. I'm an 18 years old woman looking to gain weight by using something that could significantly increase my appetite. Unlike others, I only want to gain body fat, not muscles. Should I look into products with high Phosphatidic Acid or Anabeta Elite? Cyproheptadine did not work on me. Also, I have no health issues. Thanks.

Truth be told, gaining muscle weight is pretty darn slow and difficult. Far more "healthy" to aim for muscle gain using a slight kcal surplus. Youll innevitably put on some fat as well, and likely mostly fat...and unlikely you will suddenly look like youre on steroyds.
