A supplement can not be a staple because it's a supplement. It's a OxyMoron.
Well if we have to be literal about it

Same here. I guess closest to staples would be leucine and creatine for me. But Their is nothing I take everyday.

Why do so many people have D3? I get that it's good for when you don't have sun exposure.. BUT, if your test levels are normal, there is no point in taking D3. What's the benefit of having unnecessarily more of it??

High testosterone levels =/= sufficient vit. D levels.

Vit. D has numerous effects throughout the body outside of its impact on steroidogenesis. If your vit. D levels are fine, absolutely no need to supplement with it.

What vit d levels would you qualify as "fine" so that I wouldn't have to supplement with it??

Agreed. Although, I'm doubting everyone in this thread that listed vitamin D had blood work to prove deficiency.
You're most likely right, however it's nice to get the number checked on an annual physical if it's not too much of a monetary strain.

And those are the "staples". Cycles not included. You wonder why the supplement business is booming. Haha

Creatine (has benefits beyond te gains)
Glucosamine
B-complex with Methyl Folate and Methyl B12
Protein(far less than I used too maybe a scoop a day at the most, many times it's only a couple times a week)
TMG
Magnesium(whatever kind I get on sale citrate, malate, glycinate)
D-3 2-3 times a week
CoQ10
Turmeric and Curcumin
Vitamin C

Other stuff in and out, nothing that I would consider a real staple. The above I would take even If I quit BB.

you would take creatine & tmg even if you quit bb'ing?
interesting...does this denote an interest in other activity (sporting, etc)?
or do you just say you would take these, just cuz like for GP sake?

TMG is a methyl donor and has many benefits beyond muscle/fitness. I personally have better energy levels with TMG than without.
Creatine has cognitive benefits as well as helping retention of muscle as we age(which would be even more important if I was not lifting)

So mainly just for health and well-being. I suppose if I was not BB I would try to be involved in some kind of sporting activity. Then again if I am not lifting I am more than likely crippled in some fashion so that limits my choices lol.

Generally, I go with a multi (currently ALLMAX Vitastack) fish oil (CL Oximega), whey protein (rotate between ALLMAX and Cellucor generally) and BCAAs (Cellucor Alpha Amino currently) as staples.

Items like a pre-WO (stimmed or stim-free) are add ons, as are joint supps (although more a staple than not), and creatine for me is on and off (currently using AppNut Neovar).

Also going with citrulline malate and DAA (ALLMAX) at the moment, but again, these are icing on the cake.

For me, age 44 = lower test, Helps with inflammation and as an internet marketer, I sit at the computer for 10+ hours a day. I started out taking 10,000 IU daily. Now maintaining at 5,000 IU daily. Recent research is very promising.
