Hey does anyone know of where you can get trial size or single serving protein powders? My gf has cancer and there trying to get her to eat more but nausea is making it really difficult so were giving shakes a try. The only problem is that she's extremely picky on what she likes. So before I end up with 15-20 tubs of extra protein for myself I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of some trial size packets.

Sorry to hear about that brother but i think you should consult the specialist before you try anything yourself.
Somethings may speed up how fasts the cancer spreads or impair treatment. Best to get the OK first :)

Were actually working with a dietitian at the cancer center who recommended the shakes to help her get calories. She's currently eating less than 600 calories a day due to nausea so they think if she can find a shake she likes that she can sip on that'll help her get calories.

I know Optimium used to have a 30 (don't quote me) sample box with 30 packets of all different flavors. Not sure if it's still available though

Cellucor has 3 serving trials and flavouring is A+ in my books. Its not a high calorie powder though so you may need to be looking at mass gainers..

As said consult your doc/dietician before trying anything.

Mix it into a higher calorie liquid as well, whole milk. Or if she can't stomach a milkshake you could use fruit juices and a vanilla powder? Or Nectar has a variety of fruit flavoured proteins.

There are a couple of brands, such as SAN Titanium Whey, where you can purchase 1lb tubs for typically around $10-15. Maybe try some vegan, or something other than dairy, for her even.

Merph,

Sorry to hear about your gf buddy. My prayers are with you and her.

I have 3 protein samples and 1 mass gainer sample. They are yours if ya would like. I know it's not many but maybe she'll like one of these. If you live in the US, PM me your info. I would be happy to send them out to you and her.

Try out TrueNutrition.com

They have The option to design your own mix, there's a lot of options to choose from and you can get them in 1 lb tubs. I pay around 7$/lb on that site and it's nice to know exactly whats in it. You pick the sweetener, the protein sources, fat sources, and carb sources and the additives.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the help. I've found a few different sites that have samples so now it's time to order, wait, and see what I can create that's tasty.

Ahhhhhh...you're right! Thanks for the correction my friend. Definitely will go this route however, for me, I can only tolerate sweet proteins for only so long. I am a peanut butter freak so I will venture out and try their peanut butter cup flavor.

Have you tried XF Ultra Peptide 2.0 Butterscotch flavor? The taste is just mind blowing. There is not a better tasting protein out there that can compete with it!

Nope. It has been a few years since I had XF's protein but yummy...butterscotch flavor sounds like it's the bomb for real. Have to venture out and try that. I'll have to go check and see if they offer samples but if it's good as you say it is, then it may not make a whole lotta difference! LOL!

If only the calories were more agreeable to me for UP. I tend to double scoop, dem extra calories add up quick, lulz. Excellent protein though. Finally had their LCP not too long ago.

Okay, gotcha, but yeah, I hear ya, those calories can surely add up on ya, real quick especially in milk. I usually have my protein in either water or 2% milk. Definitely gonna try it regardless hopefully sometime this month.

It's good stuff especially if you just use 1-2 scoops a day.

Oh man, mixing protein with milk... it's like a special treat. You know that it's a special day when you swap that 2% milk out for regular ole milk. LoL. I tend to get lower calorie proteins so that I could eat a little bit more of things like bread and potatoes :p

I'd look for some kind of weight gainer product. They usually taste pretty good and if it's hard for her to eat it would definitely help keep her calories up. I recently saw that nutraplanet has syntha-6 in a new flavor, peanut butter cookie. Not a gainer but I bet it would be really tasty with whole milk.

It's basically a gainer. Lulz. 3 scoops of Syntha-6 is practically the equivalent of 1 serving of True Mass.
