Most reviews that you read that were negative were most likely about the Advanced X Factor. So your on the right track using the OG X Factor. From reviews I've read it is one of the best nautral supplements out there.
Most people run it like this:
4-6 X Factor pre workout
LCLT 1.5-2 grams pre workout
GMS 6-8 grams pre workout
Don't take omegas around X Factor. Most people just drop omegas or take 4-5 hours away from X Factor.
I've never ran it personally but thats just what I understand and know from others. I look forward to running it though soon
