A good buddy of mine from college left a few weeks ago to head into Afghanistan. Ive got his military addy. He is a marine. I wanted to send him some stuff to help him out over there. I was thinking a good multivitamin like orange triad, and some protein powder...
I am open to suggestions from guys that have been over there though, or have sent packages like this before. Also, i dont know what all they are allowed out there...

What else would a marine like over there. I assume family and other friends will send him little things that you would normally think of, food items etc etc. I don't think anyone else will be sending him this kind of thing, so I am going to go this route.

Also does anyone know if nutra sends to APO addys? or am i better off getting it sent to me and then I send it to the APO.

Thanks ahead for the help fellas....

Being a Marine myself and having had multiple friends in afghan id say your best bet is a multi, creatine, and protein or protein bars.

Other good things are beef jerkey, peanut butter and easy things to eat like that.

Have it sent to you first buddy.

I just want you to know (being in the military) seeing this is awesome! You're a good friend!

If its Afghanistan depending on where he is and his mos, the fob should be relatively decent since we've been over there for so long.

Honestly dude, you can probably get away with sending him literally *anything* except dmaa. Commanders are on a lookout for that.

Again, really cool of you bro. Thank you!

Alright, thanks for the replies guys. I originally was thinking creatine also, but then i started thinking about how much water i need to drink on creatine etc etc, and thought maybe it might not be the best idea?...dont really know how much access you guys have to ample h20 on patrols and such.

Also, does a marine stationed over there have enough room to store and keep a 5lb jug of protein? really dont know the avg living accomodations.

In regards to protein bars... sounds like a good idea, you think they will get there without all completely melting? ha.

Alright so, pre w.o without DMAA are good to go.

anything else you guys can think of?

I'm not military but I would think where he is, having some BCAA with Electrolytes would be great.
The new xtend has an electrolyte complex in it i believe... correct?

That goes along with my thinking. one summer, I used nimbus nutritions poseidon during heavy work in the sun, and i swear it saved my life. ha. To bad i dont think they make that product anymore...

Yeah the new Xtend or Modern BCAA has electrolytes. Also you can still get nimbus nutrition Poseidon. I'm not sure where but I know you can get it. Nimbus just recently returned to Anabolicminds. I haven't seen any posts from them in around 3-4 weeks though so I'm not sure what is going on with that. I just did a quick Google Search and you can indeed still get nimbus Poseidon. It is against the rules to post non-sponsors though but just do a google search and you will find it.

Hey bud I won a 25 dollar gift certificate from Nutraplanet in a contest on here. If you ship direct from Nutraplanet let me know and I will ask if they can use it to help with some of the costs.

Much respect bud,

I am in the Navy so I can't say for being out in the sand but for sure no crazy stuff, stick with the basics. Like he said beef jerky, trail mix, protein bars. When I am out I take creatine, and some sort of BCAA, like xtend would be great. The one advanced supp he might would enjoy would be glycobol, slin sane or some sort of partitioner. The food sucks and it's hard to keep a solid diet, so something that makes your body more efficient with the crap you have to eat would be good.

It all really depends on his job there. If he is on a base, then they should get mail and internet. If he is operating in a forward area, then he may not get mail or even be able to carry around much stuff. Best thing you can send him, until you find out his living conditions, is probably porn...
