    DAA-effects on the brain?

wow my title is dumb, let me clarify. ive been away for about 6months from the forum and was just wondering if anybody or any general consensus on the effects of DAA and cognitive functioning/mood stabilization (understand probably two entirely different aspects) has been arrived upon. anyways anybody speeding me up on the debate would be awesome. From the recent posts I've checked out today seems like its not a bad idea to pair up with ERASE even though the possibility is small, and might work well with L-dopa 5on 2 off, something like that. in any case ive been itching to do DAA, and make it a staple. results seem kind of congruent with creatine, beta alanine, that solid so would love to hear what the communitys' position is...with some past recreational things ive taken i want to be very careful, thats in the past and im doing things with a purpose now and not wanting to diminish or inhibit my future potential. any new info would be cool!

I was taking DAA with Endosurge and no Erase for my first Endo cycle in the fall and I liked part of it. I noticed an edge that I didn't have without it, and it was focused. It didn't consume me, but it was a controlled aggression. The only thing that I did notice was that I would get a slight headache about 30 min after taking it and I wasn't 100% comfortable with that. I read all about the effects on the brain and getting a headache didn't seem right, so I stopped taking it. The headaches never came back.

I've heard that it can improve cognitive function and mood, and people have cited studies on it, although I'm not familiar with them. I noticed a slight difference in mood while I was running it, but can honestly say I've never had the headaches a few people here mentioned.

Here are a couple that show NMDA(N-methyl-D-aspartatic acid) causing cell death and a search on Google will pull up several list that put it in excitotoxin category.
Acute NMDA toxicity in cultured rat cerebellar gra... [BMC Neurosci. 2010] - PubMed result
NMDA But Not Non-NMDA Excitotoxicity is Mediated by Poly(ADP-Ribose) Polymerase -- Mandir et al. 20 (21): 8005 -- Journal of Neuroscience
    What is NMDA?
N-methyl-D-aspartic acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    or just D aspartic acid
Aspartic acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Muscle Warfare and several others are offering NMDA which is a more soluble form of D-aa.

Those studies have limited value when trying to make human en vivo correlations.

NMDA only has a toxic effect if applied directly to brain tissue. Oral supplementation with NMDA or just regular DAA has never been shown to cause cell death, toxicity, etc.

thats very interesting...I wonder if its because of a lack of testing or because the difference in interaction between direct contact and ingesting truly is different.

    Meh...

I dont know how one would "feel" the toxicity but I was taking as high as 9g a day before and never "felt" any toxicity but again as I said I dont know how one would really "feel" neuro toxicity
