Pre-WO alternative for a Pre-WO junkie
I love preworkouts. Im way past due for an off-cycle of PreWO's. I barely feel the focus, intensity, and pumps that i used to feel.
So instead of me searching around for the latest greatest Pre Workout i'd like to see if there is something else i could take that would get me going?
OR--- maybe a stim-free PreWO ?
any advise is appreciated.

interesting. i've always wanted to take a BCAA supp. it almost seems like a no-brainer from what i've heard about them, i just havent..lol...

What i'm trying tomorrow for that particularly is a combination of APScaps along with VPX a EAA + BCAA Nitrate product. So no stims. But the nitrates give an energizing effect.

I like using PWOs with stims, but also PWOs without stims.. Taking a break from them is a good approach, let the body recover from all that extra stress... And if you ask me, you get more bang for the buck if you cycle them.. I'm currently overdue with my cycle of PWOs, I really don't feel em anymore, no beta-alanine tingling, no extra focus or intensity.. But I still keep taking them, cause I wanna have something before the workout.. But it's a waste of money really..
Kanakafarian: I don't think it's a placebo, many people feel that they get extra energy from BCAA/EAAs, I'm one of them.. Just as you describes it, I too usually feel gassed out after a hard days work, hitting it hard at the gym, etc.. But the extra energy from BCAA do really help...
So with that, I'm planning on taking some rest from my current PWOs for about 4-6 weeks and just use AXcell (BCAA) instead... Cause as I stated above, I feel that the PWO is overdue and it doesn't give me anything extra.. But taking BCAA during the workouts really gives me a little extra energy and I have something to take before the workout too

Ya know what I like for a pre-w/o boost? Skittles. Just a little bag like the ones that you get for Halloween. Either that, or something similar. Just gives that little extra sparkle to the day...and a little extra sugar for the fire that I'm about to light in the weightroom.
As mentioned, BCAAs. Do it. No questions asked. If you're not training with them, then ... Why aren't you using them again??? Seriously - do it.
Just because you threw the word "pump" out there, I'm going to throw in a recommendation for something that's often overlooked, very effective, very very economical, and will actually mix in really really well with your chosen BCAAs (which you are now going to go out and buy because you feel like a bit of a fool for not having done so already, right?) Controlled Labs Glycergrow. Mix a few scoops in your pre-w/o drink, chug it down, and enjoy. The "pump" from it is quite nice. Comparing it on a price/serving level, it's WAY better than other dedicated pump products out there. Last time I had it, I did a WHOPPING 6 scoops per serving - WAY more than recommended, but I am a bit of a big tool - and using it on w/o days as suggested, one tub lasted me about 3 months. Simply can not beat that for economy!
I say give 'em a try. Go with a BCAA and Glycergrow. Spend a few bucks more for a quality BCAA like Xtend or AXcell (which you can get for HALF OFF on the AX site right now, WITH a free shaker), and spend a few bucks less on a quality pump product by going with GG.

You could always try Attack and Ancient Strength from Brutal Alchemy. They're non-stim, and folks have been saying how well they stack.

808rebel, you shouldn't rely on a product to give you focus, intensity, and pumps - focus starts in the mind, intensity can be manipulated through training variables, and pumps can be achieved also through training variables as well as nutrition.
However, if you HAVE to use a preworkout, I recommend checking out Assault (note that there is a stim-free version coming mid-2011). For my comprehensive notes and thoughts on it, please see my complete review at Rosie's Review of Assault.
Otherwise, re focus and intensity, if you are reliant on stimulants, perhaps check out something like Adaptogens. I know the Suma Root in Assault and Rhodiola Rosea in IGF-2 make a definite difference to how I feel.

was assault changed, i used it few months ago and it was real good, i grabbed a few recently, especially with the added con-cret, and its as bad as super-dump 250 now!!!!! im really disapointed as it works good still, but damn i get home from the gym real fast!!!

If you want good pumps just have some carbs before your workout! I had a scoop of matodextrine 30 mins before my workout yesterday. Huge Pump!
I know you say your a stim junkie, but id try to avoid anything with 1/3 dymeth in it. I anything with that in it destroys me and leaves me functioning poorly the next day
Honestly i was supprised witht he pic up that Optimum nutricians Amino energy gave. I think it used caffine and green tea extract. Its kind of a Bcaa+stim in one.
I also think san fierce is strong, i just dont like the glycocyamine in that. I wouldnt use anything else if they took that out.

For a stim free option, id give hemavol a look. It's pretty strong at what it is designed to do with increasing plasma volume and is very versatile in pre-workout stacks. IMO, def worth a look at least.

I've started taking BCAAs for the past 3 days...no preworkout. Went with Modern BCAA by USP. great product. I take it like i would a preworkout drink and im having great lifts, good energy...i just dont have that "stim" type energy, but im fine. Im using self-motivation to give me the kick that i usually seek from pre-workouts.

Anabolic Ignite - creatine nitrate(1.5g) dosed a little higher at 3 scoops, BCAA 4:1:1 in nitrate form (.5g) dosed higher at 3 scoops, Citrulline Malate (2g), Beta Alanine (2g), b3, b6, b12, and vitamin C (1g)...non stim preworkout. Also a lot of people seem to love Ultima.

i've been doing 4 creatine nitrate caps preworkout, with VPX's powershock (8g of EAAs + 3g of BCAA nitrates plus I think beta alanine nitrate and something else) and doing that without a stim or anything else, and the pumps are crazy, so is the energy

I like agmatine. There are a few quality products out there that have it, such as Man Sports BluePrint, Nitrozine, and of course HemaVol.
Personally I have found that whenever I take a week or two completely off of all stims (perfect for a deload week), and allow my adrenal glands to have time off, then the next time I take a stim, I only need a fraction of what I did before for the same effect.
