Creatine volumizing- loading week only?

    Creatine volumizing- loading week only?


    Are you supposed to volumize only during the loading week? (for example, gain 5 pounds of water in loading week and hold that 5 pounds through maintenance) I just ended mine and didn't gain any real weight. Or does volumizing slowly happen with continued use? (for example, the 5 pounds of water is slowly gained with continued use then held)

    It depends on the type of creatine (creatine monohydrate vs. one of the "new" creatine formulations like Swole V.2), but you should gain water weight until you reach your body's new creatine "equilibrium" level. Perhaps you need to drink more water.

    Ah, thanks. It's GNC's monohydrate. Is there any real advantage to using one of the newer formulas compared to monohydrate?

    Products like Swole or V12 shuttle creatine to your muscles more rapidly so you don't have to load for five days. Even though my experience tells me you don't have to load any way as long as you are taking creatine daily.

    Let me add that some people are "nonresponders" to creatine monohydrate and get results with the new formulas. Some rare individuals do not get results from either (or do not get the results they expected).
