At this point, I'm 5'11 and 270lbs with a lot of body fat..mainly in mid-section (belly mostly, also chest, and sides). I used to be 180lbs and fit but gained because of side effects of psychotropic meds I still currently take. A while back, I had leveled off at 250lbs but got discouraged as a result of some mental stuff I was experiencing and stopped going to the gym for quite a while. I just recently started back around a month ago. I'm going 5 days a week and still have some knowledge of supplements and diet, but this time I seem to be stuck at 270lbs.. I had actually gotten up to 294lbs at my highest during my off time. That was the heaviest I've been in my life. I'm 36yrs old now. Anyway, here's a list of the current supplements I've been using:

APEX brand multi-vitamin (twice a day)
APEX brand L-Glutamine powder (with b-fast & pre-workout)
APEX brand NO Xtreme (pre-workout)
[REASON FOR USING APEX IS CAUSE I STILL HAD THEM
LEFT OVER EXCEPT FOR THEIR MULTI-VITAMIN I HAVE BEEN ORDERING] - [THE GYM I GO TO USED TO SELL AND PROMOTE THIS BRAND]

GNC brand L-Arginine/L-Ornithine (pre & post workout)
GNC brand Beta-Alanine (pre & post workout)
[A GNC REP RECOMMENDED THESE]

Designer Stackables brand Basic Cuts (with b-fast & pre-workout]
Gaspari brand Size On (during workout)
Nature's Best brand Perfect Zero Carb Isopure (post workout)
Gatorade (post workout)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hope this is an ok place on the site to post this request, etc (I'm new).

thanks,
Brett

Some really good news is that your current stack is VERY expensive, but with Nutraplanet, the boards sponsored site, you will be able to pick up many of those for significantly less cost.

Look especially into bulk items such as bulk creapure, bulk BCAA's etc.

Without knowing more of your health status, I hesitate to really start pushing some supplemental details.

What are some of your goals? How do you intend to reach them? What state of health are you in? What is your experience in dieting/exercising/supplementation? Can you commit to an entire lifestyle change?

Get off the gatorade and all high GI foods so your insulin response will come back to normal. Get a test booster and low dose anti e to offset the damage the mental meds are causing. Then diet and exercise.

Overall my health is good. I do have high cholesteral from the weight gain caused by the psych. meds. My goals are to lose weight and also build muscle. I'd like to get back down to 180lbs or around there depending on how much muscle weight I put on. I'd like to reach my goals by proper diet, exercise, and supplements. I used to go the gym 5 days a week in high school for up to 2-3 hours a day. I've since learned that I was over training and that workouts should be kept to around 45min. to 1hr. splitting up the muscle groups into 5 days. I can definitely commit to the lifestyle change.

this is my current diet as far as food: (supplements taken as listed in my first post)

Breakfast
6 egg whites
1 cup plain oatmeal with water
2 scoops ground flax mixed with water

snack
muscle milk light RTD

Lunch
1/2 chicken breast marinated in Tangerine Juicy juice cooked on the george foreman grill
1/2 cup mixed steamed frozen veggies
1/2 cup brown rice cooked in rice cooker

workout

Dinner
same as lunch

again, any and all help is greatly appreciated!

thanks,
Brett

GI means gylcemic Index (spelling IKIK).

I would try an all out diet cycle. You dont need any post workout carbs untill you reach a healthy weight. So if you get down to 200-215 then start to add carbs post WO.

In your shoes i would do:
Bcaa's, 10g's morning, pre & post WO,
Glutamine, 10g's morning & right before bed. ( boosts HGH, best fat buring horomone in the male body)
I would get Ana bolic Inno vati ons HGH up. I would stack it with An dro te st extreme st ac k. Its $75 bux at Pro sou rce. ne t. They also carry AI so you can get the Hgh up there too.

Last I would do a theromengic fat burner. Dren by M H P, or Betastack by Bio quest. Or whatever you have used with good results.

Actually Pro sou rce has a house Bcaa & Glutamine that are way cheaper than any name brand. You should be able to get everything you want from them.

Get Whey isolate protein(any brand), also get ON casein for before bed. PS has a house bran whey iso too. $26 for 2.2lbs, not bad for the quality.

Overall the products i mentioned will 1. get your body in anabolic mode. 2. Will boost Test and HGH, in turn giving you more strength, endurance, stamina, recovery. the hgh will also turn up the fat burning, expecially if you get Dren or Beta. But everything is only going to last one month.

After its over I would get a good pre WO drink, which will amp you up for a long hard WO. than start taking KreAlk creatine, not water retention/bloating. 100% stable creatine. Creatine will also help burn fat.

The test should allow you to workout longer & harder=buring more cals.

So i would run the test/HGH stack for a month. Than pre WO/Creatine stack for a month and go back to the test/HGH. take the glut/Bcaa all the time. no reason to cycle them.

Well, I am not going to get into a good diet and WO, i m sure you know what you need to do. goodluck bro:tongue2

replace it with water. IF you are trying to lose weight stay away from sugar drink such as these. Im not really sure how the meds effect things but ill give u advice on what i have seen work.

If you are trying to lose weight i personally dont think you need all of those sups. One of my friends lost 75 pounds from drinking lots of water eating right and running everyday with 45 min in the gym 4 times a week doing high rep workouts. He was taking a fat burner as well with a multi vitamin. When he first started we would run together and he would go 1/4 a mile and walk the rest but like i told him everyone starts somewhere. By the end of the month he was at a mile with no problem. And a year later we ran a marathon together so that should say something.

think of it this way burn more calories then you take in portion up your meals so you are eating right but not over eating. You could add things like BCAA or a shake to help with recovery if you would like.

Honestly you can pump all the iron you want and take every sup in the world but stick to the basics is my opinion. they dont sound as fun or fancy as the other but its proven to work. Running/Diet/Water.

My friend started by riding a bike at the gym to help ease the tension on his joints with his weight since he was at 270 when he startedd.

I dont wanna go on forever but if u want more advice let me know.

sounds good i would focus on cutting the weight first but by all mean stay in the gym maybe 3-4 times a weak for 45 min doing high rep workouts or 10-12 reps. But like i said Cardio is going to be your friend if you are trying to lose weight!!!

Why are you marinating chicken in high sugar fruit juice? Marinate it in fat free italian dressing if you want to. I personally bake 3 lbs at a time with some kind of rub on it. Baking keeps it fairly moist if you don't overcook it.

Animal Stack and Anavite are fine for vitamin. Anavite is nice with the added full daily dose of carnitine and beta alanine. Really any MV will work just fine.

I just use a mccormick dry rub. Something southwestern style. I buy 3-4 lbs of fresh chicken breasts. Cover with spice or seasoning of choice, and bake at 375 degrees for 20 mins. Check to see if pink is gone, leave in for a couple more minutes if needed. Just don't over cook it. Stays nice and moist and you only have to cook 2-3 times per week instead of every day.

Been looking at rubs and seasonings.. I found only one choice per brand...mccormicks, lawrys, and weber... What about all the sodium they're loaded with?? There's gotta be a way to cook chicken breasts where it's more healthy and still tastes good!

[A GNC REP RECOMMENDED THESE]
That is where you first went wrong. GNC is a Muscle Tech pushing super store of crap. I worked at my local GNC when I was 15 and had no clue what a test booster was ok. That shows you their knowledge.

Two, Never had Anavite but I luv the Animal Stak

hoping to hear back from you.. My health is overall good.. It's the side effects of my meds that caused the weight gain.. I've been slim all my life before I had to get on the meds.. I was 180lbs and in shape before I started the meds.. They caused me to gain 10lbs a week with no diet change up to 250lbs.. I'm 5'11 and 260 now.. So, my goal is to lose the fat and gain muscle however I can.. I'm willing to make a lifestyle change and appreciate all the help you'll give me.. I used to lift in HS, but I didn't really know what I what I was doing... I overtrained and didn't put on much muscle.. I was 150lbs all through HS.. I know I can read about stuff, but it's so much nicer to have someone with experience help me.. Are you a trainer? I don't know if I can afford one, but let me know what you think after reading this re: supplements, diet, and WO please..

Thanks a million,
~Brett

I work at GNC, but my knowledge base on supplementation is a bit higher than the average individual. So is it safe to assume that everyone possess the same knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge, just because I do? Probably not (do you see my point here?). I wouldn't be so quick to make that snap judgement. Any advice given here would be the same in store, and has been. I get questions on everything from herbal applications to prohormones, to steroids, to......general nutrition, and guess what? People have success, my knowledge and advice is sound, but wait, that cant be, I work at GNC....

By the way, I don't push muscletech. Never once have I promoted it. In contrast the products that I push the most tend to be by USP Labs, Optimum Nutrition, etc., which I'm sure none of you have problems with. And believe it or not, GNC's own line of supplements (the AMP line in particular) is not bad. All of them have provided countless people with success (including myself). And secondly, though you bash thier products alot, they are ruitinely one of the few companies I see provide proof of claims through double-blind, placebo-controlled studies, and the study is cited on every box at that.

I'm not saying that everyone that works at GNC are smart, or even efficacious, because they aren't. But this is true for every sector of the workforce. Look at the political sector for Christ's sake. More retards there then in every little yellow school bus in Cali (this is not meant to be offensive to actual retards, I have way more respect for them thant most policy makers).

check out the supplements section. people like novedex xt so you could use that. and for a test booster testopro is another favorite. I like anything with divanil in it. testapro has it.
