I get maybe one migraine or so a year. They destroy me. Narrowed vision. Light sensitivity. Slurred speech. I have doctor prescribed migraine meds.

Migraines are something I've only had for a couple years, but at the slightest hint of one, I take feverfew (about 1g per hour, consisting of dried portions of all parts of the plant) and butterbur extract (1 cap per hour). 9 times out of 10 that will stop it dead in its tracks. Also the homemade stack of aspirin, caffeine, and acetaminophen for the pain.

For several years I had a migraine problem and there was NOTHING I could take that would even touch them. I maybe have 3 a year now.

What changed was that I identified what was triggering them and for me it was: 1. Fluctuations in my blood sugar 2. Lack of good sleep and rest 3. Being in sunshine without polarized sunglasses.

I took medicine for them for a while but it did not help at all. I started eating every 2 or 3 hours and making sure that I never allowed myself to get hungry. I make sure that I always have polarized sunglassed with me and I wear them even if it is sorta cloudy. Making these changes have made a world of difference.....man, I do not miss migraines....for me, they are the worst! They hurt worse than kidney stones.

I've been getting migraines since I was 5. By my teens, it would get so bad, I would have to pop the equivalent of 3200mg of Rx ibuprofen just to get a handle on them. Then I learned if I kept that up I'd destroy my stomach lining and my liver... Now, i just take 2 ibuprofen (200mg each), 2 acetaminophen (500mg each) and wash it down with a pepsi, (or you could prolly take a caffeine tab if you don't want all the extra junk in the soda). I normally feel fine in an hour.
