Was looking to get some 'intrain' by controled labs, but it's now OOS.

What other product is there on the market which is similar? Looking to sip on something throughout the workout with BCAA's + electrolytes and any extra goodies

since elite whey tested in at around 20% less protein than advertised, I have lost faith in dymatize.

purple wrath has 7g EAA, I wonder how much of those is BCAA?

LG's product looks good, but all 3 flavours are OOS

recoverpro looks ok as well, but never come across a 4:1:1 ratio before

You weigh 143lbs(you only need 1 scoop), someone that weighs more will have to use more, so it won't last very long for someone that is 200+lbs. Although, the Berry Banana flavor sounds delicious!

i think 200 plus is still 2 scoops which will still last as long as about 2 or 3 xtend jars, and i don't like purple wrath, so i'd still go with the chain'd out

Xtend is $43 for 90 servings w/ 7g BCAA (630g total) per serving ($.478/serving)
Chain'd Out is $34 for 60 servings w/ 7g BCAA (420g total) per serving ($.567/serving)

Someone's not very good at math.

RecoverPRO is $43 for 147 servings w/ 6g BCAA (882g total) per serving ($.293/serving).

200+ requires 3 scoops. I agree about the PW though, I got burned out on the taste of that stuff(both flavors), but it does have an awesome nutritional profile.

My standard concoction is: 10g Leucine, 10g Whey Hydrolysate, 10g Pepto-Pro. Recently, I realized that the EAA in LG's BC+EAA is a hydrolysate blend and began using that with my Pepto-Pro instead. I highly recommend the Kiwi Watermelon.

If, however, you want just straight up BCAAs, as some prefer, RecoveryPro or Bulk Leucine w/ some Citrus Dew Flavoring is the way to go.

LG bc+eaa has everything any other formula on the market has except beta alanine which can be added dirt cheap in bulk from NP, it also has a better price point and better taste (which becomes important when drinking during a WO).

I was going to go with BC+EAA, but all three flavours are OOS at the planet.

I'm thinking purple wrath at the moment TBH

I'd check out either LG's BCAA+EAA or AI's RecoverPRO. Good values and effective.

That usually does the trick, but i've recently switched to a volume based routine and my damn muscles are still sore even after 3 days; hence the need to supplement whilst training

I'm with you. Try your own concoction. I do Zero cal Crystal+Bcaa's.

Sometimes I'll also do 'White flood' mixed with BCAA's.

This is a personal preference, but H2O for me. I just don't like drinking anything other than water while working out or training. Unless I'm pushing for hard for hours, such as my long runs/marathon etc then I'll eat and/or drink something to sustain, looking for quick carbs, BCAA's, and a few protein. If it's to purely be a drink then like mentioned above, 4:1:1 ratio's preferred.

Many peri-workout supps vying for your dollar. I like bulk raws which offer greater flexibility in customizing. My current choice:

- 100 grams waxy maize or 50/50 mix with sugar
- 25 grams of cold processed whey, inclusive of di-tri peptides and multi-gram dose of colostrum proteins
- 25 grams of BCAA's
- 10 grams of creatine monohydrate. Alternatively, 1 gram of Kre-Alkalyn
- Dash of sodium
- Crystal light to taste

This drink provides high molecular weight carbohydrates needed to replenish glycogen/stimulate insulin release, complete proteins and EAA profile along with generous amounts of BCAA's and research proven creatine monohydrate. The smidgeon of sodium is included to facilitate uptake of those nutrient that are sodium dependent to cross the cell gradient (creatine is just one).

Protein shake with BCAA before you workout, water during, Gatorade directly after, then another protein and BCAA shake within 30 mins. I've been doing this forever and it works great for me.

If you really feel the need for a supplement during your workout, I'd mix in a scoop of BCAA powder with a 20 oz Gatorade and save some money.

Considering you want BCAAs then Intrain may not be the best choice. Yes it does have L-Leucine but the only other free-form amino acid is L-Glycine.

If you want all the amino acids in free-form and from WPH, along with Electrolytes, I would recommend IntrAbolic.

If you are simply looking for BCAAs, then there are many great viable options, such as:
- RecoverPRO
- ICE
(2 of which i prefer for just BCAAs)

Intra-Aid by Universal is my favorite!
Intra-Aid is the bodybuilder's workout drink. In one serving you get:

8 grams of high quality hydrolyzed whey
10 grams of Free Form Amino's including beta alanine and all the EAA's & BCAA's
electrolytes
a great carb blend

At almost a dollar per serving and less than 5g of hydrolysate per serving, that stuff is under dosed like nobodies business, IMO. I was using 5-6scoops per workout.
Its not underdosed at all. Most use two scoops, which is 5 grams of leucine, a good bit of WPH, 3.2 grams of beta alanine.

If you were taking 5-6 scoops of it at once, I dont see how you didnt get some wicked parasthesia, from the 8-10 grams of BA at once. Considering the recommended dose is 3.2-6.4.

There are 4g of WPH in a scoop of IA - not gonna do much for me. Even for pepto-pro, which is better than WPH, the recommended dose is 10g - And I've even seen better performance when using much higher doses than that. I'm currently using 30g WPH in my intra-workout shake, along with 10g leucine. Considering the WPH I got is primarily di- and tri- peptides, and that I got it for $5/lb, there's no comparison - IA is overpriced and underdosed.

As for the BA, paraesthesia dissipates with extended use. It now takes me about 8-10g just to feel any paraesthesia, and it's not much at that. I normally take about 5g/day, so my body is acclimated to it.

Whey protein bars are an outstanding way to get your necessary vitamins after a bodybuilding workout. It is so indispensable to keep up your protein levels, particularly after a workout, but time is often of the real meaning and with people rushing off to work or sport straight away, meal bars can offer a brilliant top up.
