Big shout out to Muscle Research for having me try this.
History
I've been doing keto for ever and a day. Even before it became kool! :)
To be a little specific, I did old school Atkins for years - not always to cut weight; rather I felt better with less carbs and it kept my blood numbers healthy.

The last 3.5 years I've been on strict keto more or less continuously. Not some newfangled version like 75/20/5 - rather I focus on having enough fat for energy, enough protein for muscle, and keep my carbs negligible.
Issues of Keto
As I see it, there are 3 main issues when doing keto:
1. The amount of time it takes to get into ketosis
2. The physical issues and feelings involved while attaining a ketogenic state
3. Keeping your energy up while performing a cardiovascular centric workout.
As Keto Salt should directly address all 3 issues, I am extremely excited to run this.
============================

I will be having a MASSIVELY carb heavy scheduled "cheat meal" Tuesday night, so my first scoop should be Wednesday morning.
I will be mainly addressing:
Quickness of attainig ketosis
Avoidance of "keto flu"
Energy during high cardio workouts
Taste and Palatability

I will be switching over for the duration to a high rep/high set/60-90 second breaks style, so my weight workout will also serve as a test of cardio energy.

If this lives up to expectations - I will be one ecstatic guy!

Final Review

This is not rocket science: it does what it's supposed to do - extremely well! - and it even tastes good.

Energy - solid, even, and constant. Will get you through a workout plus, without stimhead, jitters, or crash.

Appetite supression - good to extremely good

Taste - food grade delicous. No supp aftertaste.

I'm loving this!

Description
"Keto Salt is a groundbreaking exogenous ketone supplement designed to help transition the body into nutritional ketosis and provide clean energy quickly to individuals currently in a fasted or ketogenic state. Through supplementation of Keto Salt, the body has an immediate supply of usable ketones to help bypass many of the unwanted side effects associated with transitioning into ketosis. Without Keto Salt supplementation, it can take days to weeks for the body to begin producing its own ketones for fat breakdown through a ketogenic diet.

Many similar exogenous ketone supplements on the market are often criticized for their unpleasant flavor. For this reason, Muscle Research has gone above and beyond to provide a natural orange flavor without the excessive salt taste or artificial overtones found in related products. We are confident Keto Salt is the best tasting exogenous ketone supplement available.

What Are Ketones?

Ketones are used by mitochondria in the body to generate energy as an alternative to glucose. In humans, only 3 different ketones are produced through the liver; acetone, acetoacetic acid and beta-hydroxybutyrate. Though beta-hydroxybutyrate is not technically a ketone body, it still functions like other ketone bodies and can be more easily converted to energy through the body's energy pathways.

What is BHB?

Beta-Hydroxybutyrate, or BHB, is the most common ketone body utilized in exogenous ketone supplements. Unlike other ketone bodies, BHB is easily converted into energy by the body through the conversion to acetoacetic acid, eventually converting to two Acetyl-CoA molecules using beta-ketothialase. Keto Salts provide an instant supply of ketones, even if you are not in ketosis, to provide clean energy or kick start fat burning.

What Results Can I Expect from Keto Salt?

May Promote Weight Loss
May Provide Appetite Suppression
May Promote Increased Physical Performance
May Provide Anti-Inflammatory Support
May Improve Cognition
May Alleviate Lethargy and Fatigue

Who Should Supplement with Keto Salt?

Healthy adults who are overweight, dieting or trying to get rid of excess fat through a ketogenic diet should supplement with Keto Salt. Ketogenic Athletes or Bodybuilders who are interested in slimming down quickly for an event or competition may also benefit from quicker ketosis transition times to shed water weight as well as increased energy from exogenous ketone supplementation.

What Side Effects Can I Expect from Keto Salt?

When following the ketogenic diet, some individuals may experience diarrhea, unpleasant breath or temporary flu-like symptoms. If negative side effects should occur, discontinue use immediately and consult your physician."

Oh, you think I actually get to eat all that?! Lmbfao!
I get to dream about it, order and pay for it, then taste some of it. Then I get to give away most of it to my neighbor!
But fir the purpose of this log, I have to get at least 80g of carbs in to positively get me outa keto

Although I'll be taking my first scoop Wednesday morning, I switched over to a more cardio-centric workout today, for comparison: a hi rep/quick break scheme to really test the limits.
Basically 5 work sets x20 reps with about 90 seconds between sets.

Did some upper back, traps, and chest; decent weights for 20s - yes, I'm sore as farque!
Hammer rows
Hammer shrugs
Hammer declines
PecDec
All for 5x20

I was done! I still haven't learned than when you up the reps you're supposed to lower the weights!

Hopefully Wednesday I'll do some more back and delts so it'll be a pretty decent comparison.

Right now I gotta shop for my Tuesday night carb up. So far I got mango....yeah, mango. I crave mango. What da heck happened to me?! Lol

I am curious on this one, partly since you have been doing keto for years I can't really see you not already being very efficient and making ketones. Kind of wondering if you already being efficient might effect how much it does for you.

Now is this something that can be used preworkout when in keto to get a boost of extra energy almost like carbing for the workout? Now if that is the case I am very curious on your assessment because you should already be efficient and an improvement there would be pretty impressive compared to say someone who is just starting Keto and inefficient at lypolosis.

Hit the nail on the head! That's exactly how I presented this to the rep - I basically know alot of the "hacks" to do keto while lifting, etc. But this should have the extra needed elecs and a pre etc all in one convenient scoop.

I like to venture into the keto lifestyle every once in a while when I want a very simple diet. That or the Carb-Backloading type of mindset. My current diet is more like a mix of IF and Carb-Backloading, or should I just say nutrient timing since I will sometimes add some carbs into the mix 30 minutes or so before my workout to get some carbs circulating to keep performance up. Sometimes I just have some aminos instead and then go for the carbs intra and post, or just post workout. I fast until I feel like breaking my fast most days when I am working toward fat loss. Sometimes that is no fast and I eat 6 eggs with 1-2 tbls of coconut oil. Other times it may be 10:30, 1:00 or 2:00PM. I just track my macros and get the requirements for the day in. Basic lifestyle diet. It will get me to my goals relatively quickly with very little inconvenience so long as I stick to my caloric and or macro guidelines.

Now when trying to grow muscle as the main goal, IF type diets are out the window for me. I get digestive issues and reflux if I go to high on calories in a truncated time frame. So I avoid that plus I think when the goal is to gain muscle multiple influxes of protein are better at keeping protein synthesis going.

Over the years I've tried incorporating carbs into my eating style, but it just never feels right for me. I tried all the different timing schemes.....I just plain feel and function better on hflcap. I guess I'm just one of the weird folk who don't feel like a martyr or that I'm missing anything while in keto.....most of the time:/

Good for you. I am 100% carbivore. Me on ultra low carb = bad time for everyone who works for me or has to be around me.

I consider myself lucky because I can do it both ways without any issues other than the initial week of feeling a little off when I start keto but after the first 4-5 days I am normally good to go. Probably because I keep my fats high no matter what.

I think I can safely say I am out of ketosis!
The victims involved:
Large plate of fresh mango and strawberries
6 mini personal pizzas
3 large eggrolls
2 potato and onion crispy paninis
Large bag of potato chips
2 chocolate bars
Container of vanilla ice cream and fudge

I was planning a second shift, but I guess I just can't eat like I used to!

Ugh....the things I do for science...;) The truth is, I did enjoy myself during, so there's that....

I feel physically and mentally in a food fog....thankfully tomorrow morning is the start of strict keto....

Cheers
