First off Thank You to Vein Nutrition for letting me try this product. Also they went out of their way to send me a shaker bottle which is always useful.

Product Information

Sedation is an effective long-term daily use sleep aid supplement, it is non-habit and non-tolerance forming. Along with good sleep hygiene, Sedation is your solution for a deep restful night of sleep. Taken 30mins-2 hours before bedtime, Sedation not only helps put you to sleep, but also helps you stay asleep. Rest is just as important as diet and workout. When you're asleep, the body rebuilds and recovers, this is when the true growth occurs. Sleep is a vital part of recovery and growth and Sedation is our base product for promoting sleep. If there are days you need extra help falling asleep or if you're looking to be knocked down ASAP, combine Sedation with Comatize.

What's the secret to Sedation?

Vitamin B3 - promotes sleep in people who have insomnia caused by depression and/or stress. Also known as Niacin, a deficiency in niacin can cause insomnia and restlessness, so it's no surprise that supplementing with B3 can promote better sleep. Vitamin B3 also reduces high cholesterol and triglyceride levels as well as the risk of heart attack.

Vitamin B6 - helps converts tryptophan in your body to Vitamin B3 and serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulating sleep patterns.

Rutaecarpine - increases the metabolism of caffeine in this body. This helps the body break down and remove caffeine in the body. As we all known caffeine can contribute to restlessness and awake-fullness, so rutaecarpine aids in eliminating the caffeine in your body and allowing you to calm down and reduce the effects of caffeine.

4-aminobutanoic acid- also known as GABA or gamma-aminobutyric acid, it is a neurotransmitter that can reduce nerve activity, essentially bringing your body down from an excited state and helping to calm you both physically and mentally. Individuals with insomnia have shown to have lower levels of GABA, so supplementing with GABA is important for restful sleep.

Zinc Monomethionine Aspartate + Magnesium Aspartate - along with Vitamin B6, comprises a supplement known as ZMA. ZMA helps the body achieve deeper levels of REM sleep and support hormone effects while asleep.

Melatonin- a hormone that regulates the daily onset of darkness, melatonin promotes sleep by helping regulate the body's internal clock of sleeping and waking hours.

Aminoethanoic Acid - also known as glycine, this supplement has shown to increase sleep quality and improve levels of fatigue and well being the next day due to better sleep

L-y-glutamylethylamide - a naturally occuring amino acid, L-theanine is a psychoactive compound, meaning it is able cross the blood-brain barrier and interact directly with the nervous system. There, L-Theanine works by stimulating the production of GABA, which we know already is responsible for "relaxing" the body's nerve firings. L-Theanine improves sleep in making falling asleep easier and faster and increasing sleep duration.

Valeriana officinalis - also known as valerine, this naturally occuring extract from the Valeriana officinalis plant is traditionally brewed for tea or eaten for relaxation and sedation purposes.

Mucuna pruriens - increases levels of dopamine in the body. Dopamine plays an important role in the brain processes that lead to falling asleep and the REM stage of sleep associated with dreaming

Weight: 160ish
Diet: 2600-2700 calories, low carbs, high fat, moderate protein
Training: 4 days lifting per week, 1 strictly cardio....Sundays I try and be active

I hit either legs/back twice a week or chest/shoulders twice a week, I alternate weeks. I hit arms every Saturday

I will post up my training as I do it each day and hopefully you can get an idea of what I do. At the start of this I have overtime at work which really puts a pinch on my training timeframes. So I've been picking my 2 body parts and supersetting about 12 sets of each muscle per workout in hopes the owner doesn't start turning the lights off on me.

Since overtime started I've had trouble with sleep. Which makes this perfect for me. I also notice an eye twitch when my body is needing extra sleep or more quality sleep which is happening right now. I usually go to bed around 11ish and wake up at 7:30a.m. every day but that doesn't mean I sleep the whole time or that it's good sleep. I also have a cat who likes to cry in the middle of the night and also plops on my head in the middle of the night disrupting my sleep cycle.

I usually start my supplements on Mondays except for sleep aids and fat burners. This way if they don't treat me right I'm not fried for work and can access myself.

Saturday I opened the Sedation and took half a scoop. Within 10-15 minutes I felt groggy and almost a tingle around my body. Not nearly as bad as a BA tingle but I noticed something. I fell asleep quickly and had a good sleep until my cat jumped on me. Other than that it was good.

Sunday I went for a hike all day and was exhausted. Another half scoop and the same groggy, relaxed feeling and also a tingle. The cat kept randomly crying in the middle of the night which woke me up a few times. This morning I woke up a bit groggy as well, maybe a little hangover from the product.

Now the flavor, Orange Gummy Candy which is probably my least favorite gummy candy there is even though I love gummies. The smell of the powder reminded me of a tang. The flavor though is spot on in terms of Orange Gummies. It literally tasted like someone melted the candy into a liquid when I drank it. I also got a hint of what I don't like about Orange gummies and it's that black licorice/mint type flavoring. However it's still an enjoyable supplement and it was made to perfection in terms of what they were going after.

Should we have told him that it makes cats jump and cry at night because you're sleeping better than they are? (Jealous cats).

Srs, interrupted sleep could be cause for hangover. If you can't sleep all the way through that has happened to me with or without Sedation, but I can see within a deeper sleep, when waking, it taking longer to get back into that mode of sleep. It's a shame. Maybe put the cat in the next room, and take his key to the bedroom away for a night. :D

oh yeah he's been put in the basement on multiple occasions which may be his permanent sleeping spot....with overtime and getting home late I think he sleeps all day so when I get home he's wired.....sedation for the cat? hmmm

Thanks for the review! Once we get going we'll have two more flavors come out: Fuji apple (great if you like to have a hot tea or drink before bed) and coconut lychee (for those who like a something milk like before bed). The best is yet to come!

So I didn't go to the gym. I had tickets to go see Trailor Park Boys with my friend after work. It wasn't as good as the first time I saw them but it was ok. However this kind of night would also put Vein Nutritions Sedation to the test. I always sleep better after a training session and find when I don't train, I don't tend to sleep as good, like I have extra energy that hasn't been depleted.

So I got home, locked myself out of my house (don't ask). About 20 minutes before bed time I drank my Sedation. The relaxing feeling is pretty strong with this product. The tingles I'm not crazy about, they last about 10 minutes only. Last night I had the super relaxing feeling in my legs, almost felt like a pump in my calves, sort of painful. What I noticed was I was so relaxed that I was in a light light sleep and anything would take me out of it. But the sleep I've been getting has been quality and I feel much better in the morning than I have. As I type this my eye hasn't twitched yet today which is also a good sign.

Tuesday

Incline bench superset with seated side lateral raise 6 sets
Incline bench superset with facepull 4 sets
Cable crossover superset with ez bar high row 2 sets

Pretty good workout. I walked in trying to do 12 sets of incline if at all possible. When short on time I enjoy doing the same exercise the whole time like I did a few weeks ago. I also felt like my upper chest was lagging. I focused on that but also got winded fairly quickly into the workout. Strength wasn't to bad but I also lacked a good pump.

I'm getting used to the fuzzy feeling that Sedation gives me but its almost like I get slight anxiety for 5 minutes when I take the product which is odd. I however get quality sleep each night so far, only time I woke up last night was when I had to use the restroom. Odd thing I was also super hungry but I just went back to bed.

I get hungry too after taking it, and actually look forward to the body flush that lasts about 10 minutes. It acts pretty fast so the difference in how you feel could be the 'anxiety' because of that.

Wednesday

10 minutes treadmill
Ab machine superset with leg raise
10 minutes elliptical
Ab machine superset with leg raise
10 minutes farmers walk
Ab lounge

For anyone new to my journal this is my normal cardio day routine. I go off and on the cardio and go right into ab work then right back into cardio. First 10 minutes I'm doing some incline work on the treadmill even jog for a minute. This week instead of doing all treadmill work I decided to switch it up to a different machine and finish off with some farmers walks. It wasn't to bad, the warm weather is evident at the gym, getting a sweat going is a lot easier.

As far as the sleep, last night was the first night that I noticed waking up a few times. I was fast asleep and having dreams, woke up to use the bathroom and saw that it was only 1am so I was only sleeping for like 2 hours. Then at some point during the night I was getting dive bombed in the head by my cat so eventually I grabbed him and held him to get him to stop. The good thing is I have no trouble falling back to sleep. Right now I'm feeling a little groggy or tired, hopefully I snap out of that.

I have come to the conclusion, your cat is purposefully sabotaging your sleep. Reminds me of my dog. He gets me up at 2 and 5am to take him out. I get this big lick on the face and his nose pokes me in my face as well. He's rude, but I love him.
.
Understood about the grogginess after waking, and you're jumping from deep sleep to rem and back which is pretty cool I think. I have multiple versions of dreams per night which is phenomenal. I wake a little groggy too because we both have evil pets. j/k. It's true. A little coffee and I'm right as rain and the mind is a flutter of cascading thoughts.

Thank you for logging this! Love your adding the workout. I'm sure it helps you like it does me as well for motivation and accountability.

Thursday

Leg press superset with chest pad t bar row 9 sets
Standing calve raise superset with lat pulldown 3 sets

My plan was to do 12 sets of leg press and just try to kill my legs but I felt like my legs were killed after 9 sets. The breaks in between sets became longer and longer and I was catching wind. So the last 3 sets I decided to switch it up. I also read an interesting article last week about ppl with bad posture should do more rowing motions than pulldown or pull up motions. I sit at work all day and anyone who has followed my journal has seen I have a terrible trap muscle because of it. So I'm trying to incorporate more rowing into my routine. I love lat work because of width and just hitting one of the larger muscles in the body but if I can improve my posture...well that's a no brainer.

I might have taken too much Sedation last night. For a good 5minutes the anxiety it gave me was very uncomfortable. I was squirming around just feeling really uneasy. After it went away I was fine though. Did have a feeling in my leg again that felt like I had a pump. Also had a bit of trouble falling asleep but once I was asleep it was really nice. Even today I woke up at 7:10a.m. to realize I had 20 more minutes, within the 20 minutes I felt like I got back to a deep sleep super quickly.

I didn't make it to the gym because I decided it was nice out and people wanted to play tennis. So that's what I did. I am not good at it but every summer I tell myself I want to do more stuff outside and not be restricted to be in the gym. So now with hiking and tennis I've been able to do that so far this summer. I got sun burned too which is funny because it wasn't that hot out but I'm so pale. I got a good sweat and felt pretty disgusting afterwards, forearms got a workout too from swinging the racket so much.

As far as Sedation. I'm learning more water is what I prefer. The flavor as I said is spot on to the Orange Gummy but the more water makes the mint/black licorice flavor that I get from orange gummies to mute down a bit and it's a really tasty drink. Puts me to sleep and the sleep I get is usually quality sleep.

Monday

Incline bench superset side lateral raise 4 sets
Hammer strength press superset reverse peck deck 4 sets
Cable cross over low cable superset with wide grip high row 4 sets

Weight felt fairly light in my hands. I moved some good weight and felt pretty good doing it. Since I haven't really been benching my left shoulder hasn't given me much problems which is good and I had a really nice pump going on in my shoulders. It's starting to get nice here which is great for after the gym, I can spend some time doing yardwork which isn't a workout but still being more active than staying in my house all night after the gym. My body seems to be changing with this new training style with overtime but I'm not sure how long that's going to last. I feel like I need to get in there and do some bigger movements again rather than just going with speed. At the end of the day I'm working hard in the gym though so I shouldn't complain to much.

Sleep was pretty good last night but woke up early this morning, I was cold, had the fan on last night because the room was warm but by this morning, it was cold. Nothing that really had to do with sedation.

Tuesday

leg press superset chest pad t bar row 9 sets
standing calve raise superset hammer strength low row 3 sets

Again I got to the gym without a plan on how I was going to approach the workout. Knew I would start with leg press, just kept going and kept adding weight, it felt good so I just went with it. The seat on the press was a bit more vertical so I got a real nice feeling in my hamstrings. The t bar rows gave me a good squeeze and feeling. At the end of the 9 sets I just let the t bar hang as I held onto it, provided a stretch that just felt amazing. While I've been doing overtime I mention the owner shutting off the lights as I'm finishing. Well last night he actually just told me to lock up when I left. At one point all the lights were off except for right where I was working and no one was left in the building.

Sleep might have been the best so last night so far. I don't remember waking up at all, the alarm went off this morning and it felt like I slept the whole night without any interruptions. My hair was also crazy so I guess I did spend the whole night in bed

Wednesday

So I didn't get to the gym. Got a text from my mother asking me to skip to the gym and come over for dinner. So to make her happy I went straight from work over to her house. I'll have to be more active this weekend to make up for it. But to make the mom's happy I'll skip the gym once in awhile.

I felt tired all day yesterday and I walked in my house last night to see my coffee still in the cup I poured it in the morning. Must not have been thinking clearly in the morning.

What I'm finding with Sedation is less is more in my case. Last night I didn't even do half a scoop and I slept really well. It's almost like I just need enough to make me feel relaxed and I slept the whole night. The drawback I have this morning is my ankle hurts, so I must have slept like a weirdo last night with my ankle in a weird position.

Leg press superset with chest pad t bar row 9 sets
Seated calve raise superset with close grip lat pulldown 3 sets

I did workout Thursday and Saturday but haven't been around a computer to log it in. Either way the workout again was good, I got a new pair of gym shoes since the ones I just opened were complete trash. These are my size but they feel big, I don't know, I didn't get much slippage during the workout nor when I did some cardio so they might be fine. During the workout I had what sort of felt like a pump in my right leg but I'm thinking it was more than a cramp, tough to walk after the 9 sets of the leg press. It also helped that someone got on my nerves before I left work so I was fired up once I got to the gym. So the weight I was moving for the amount of reps was really good.

Last two nights Sedation has been iffy. Sunday night I had some trouble falling and staying asleep. Early in the morning I was freezing because I had my fan on so I can't blame Sedation on that one. Last night I woke up after about an hour, but it wasn't a big deal to fall back to sleep.

Hammer strength press superset with side lateral raise 4 sets
Decline hammer strength superset with reverse peck deck 4 sets
Cable cross over low cables superset with wide grip high row 4 sets

I wasn't feeling to well before I went to the gym. My stomach just didn't feel right at all. Once I got working I was fine but still a bit worn. I wanted to do some incline presses but someone was using the incline bench basically during my whole workout. Either way I didn't mind the workout I did. Since I'm not doing the compound movements I'm really loading the plates on during the 4th sets of the hammer strength work. Not sure if that's the best idea since I'm also supersetting and working pretty quickly. But I figured I would try it, I mean whats the gym if you can't play and enjoy your workout a bit.

Sleep again last night wasn't very good. I fell asleep and woke up about a half hour later to use the restroom. Then woke up in the middle of the night full of flem. I hope I'm not getting sick, but I might not some mint in my shower to clear my lungs. It felt pretty gross but this morning I don't have the problem. So something needs to be cleared out because it must just be sitting as I'm laying still at night.

Hope you start feeling better brother. If you have the time, an Epsom salt bath can be relaxing for the mind and the muscles :). Appreciate you doing this log. I apologize I don't comment more often, but don't worry I get notifications and see your consistent logging. It's duly noted and appreciated!

Ab loungue superset weighted side dipes
10 minutes treadmill
Weighted crunch machine superset leg raises

I really didn't want to go to the gym yesterday. It was really nice out and I wanted to do cardio outside but I figured I better go because if I don't I'll end up just walking around town and not get my heart rate to where I need it to be. The gym was super stuffy and I was sweating almost immediately. Nothing really to crazy happened, just did my cardio and got out.

I will say in the mornings my body is looking more lean and more lean. I feel like I might need some sort of reefed day though because I'm looking a bit flat. I have my "cheat" style meals on the weekend but might need a real cheat meal. I'll hold off for now but it might be coming.

Sleep was really solid last night and it was the first night when I didn't really get the tingles or anxiety feeling before I went to bed from the Sedation. I was pretty much out the whole night, woke up about 2 minutes before my alarm went off this morning. I don't remember any vivid dreams but when I wake up I know I was just in a dream, just nothing that sticks out to make me remember all the details.

Hack squat superset with lat pulldown 6 sets
Reverse hack squat superset DB row 6 sets

I was moving at warped speed. The draft was last night and I wanted to get in and out. I was out of breath, the weight I was moving wasn't great I got the work in and I suppose that's the most important thing. Also looks like overtime is over so I can get back to my normal training routine.

Didn't sleep last night. I was watching the NFL draft so I was up later than I wanted to be in the first place, then the Giants as usual waste their draft pick so I was fired up. And it was really warm in my bedroom. So I didn't take a full dose of Sedation because it was later than normal, I did still take some to help me sleep and I fell asleep very fast. My brain must have been racing while I slept so I woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep, also was sweating and uncomfortable, so that didn't help.

I also went to the gym Saturday and it was like a sauna, I just haven't been able to get my computer to work. Anyway I didn't have to do overtime so I got to my regular workout. It felt good but I moved a bit too fast. I was in the mode of rushing and I was dead towards the end. The strength wasn't all the way there and even though the form was pretty good it wasn't as smooth during the standing shoulder presses or bench. After doing all the superset work for the last month or so it was nice to get a change in the routine.

Not sure what my gym schedule is going to be like moving forward though. Today I might have to go and get fitted for a suit after work and then I'm going to Cleveland on Thursday thru Sunday. The good thing is I'll probably be walking a lot in the city. I did weigh myself the other day and it was lower than I expected or even really want so the days off might be a good thing. I feel lean and I like that but I feel flat and a bit of loss of muscle. The days off might be beneficial even though I don't really want to miss the gym any more.

Sleep has been hit and miss. Sometimes it's soo deep and amazing. However like last night I sleep for like an hour and then I'm awake to go to the bathroom, I have no problem going back to sleep but 2 minutes ago someone said I looked exhausted. But I feel pretty good.

Didn't make it to the gym and doesn't look like I'm making it until Monday of next week. Which is fine my body probably needs some rest even though I've been missing a day here or there which I'm not thrilled about. I'm bringing gym clothes with me to Cleveland in case my family is slow, I can get in a quick workout and I expect a lot of walking.

I've been feeling a bit flat anyway so some days of extra calories might do some good.

Anyway sleep last night was good, woke up in the middle of the night but it was just to turn the fan to a lower setting, I was starting to get a sore throat. Once I turned it down I fell right back to bed. I've noticed the minor eye twitch has come back a bit here or there, nothing bothersome but once in a while during the day it happens.

Monday

Squat 4 sets
Leg press 4 sets
Bulgarian split squat 4 sets
Weighted Pull ups 4 sets
T bar row 4 sets
Straight bar pulldown 4 sets

Got back from Cleveland where I didn't work out but did some walking. Also had jury duty Monday morning. After jury duty I went to the gym and it felt nice to be back in the gym. I squatted for the first time in I'm going to say 2 months, between a groin injury and overtime at work I haven't been squatting. I didn't go heavy and my groin still had some discomfort in it. Not good on that end but I felt like my muscles were all firing nicely. Even with just 4 sets my quads felt a big pump. During the Bulgarian split squats I think I dealt with some cramping in my left quad. It didn't feel right but I kept pushing through. The bar rows are kind of rough after doing legs, my legs were shaky and failing before my back was. The rest of the night my legs were jello, walking up and down steps was an adventure each time.

I didn't take any supplements with me to Cleveland, I was with my family and they aren't the biggest fans of that kind of stuff so I got back on the grind Sunday night in which I passed right out. Last night the sleep wasn't as good, I might increase the dosage a bit to see if it helps and if it doesn't knock me out, what I've found with sleep aids is sometimes decrease the dosage and it actually works better.

Side lateral raise 4 sets
Standing shoulder press 4 sets
Reverse peck deck 4 sets
Flat bench 4 sets
Incline bench 4 sets
Cable crossover 4 sets

Chest press machine superset with shoulder press machine 2 sets

Training like this again has been adventure. In just 2 months of overtime I've almost trained myself to move too fast throughout my sets and combining multiple complex lifts into one workout really wears me down even though the volume isn't super high. I especially felt it during my chest work. The weight wasn't that heavy but I was failing or the bar was slowing down earlier in the set than I would have liked. I usually aim for about 12 sets per workout per muscle but as you see I was able to do 2 quick additional sets in the workout, mainly because I was working too fast. The last 2 sets though I didn't push the weight to much, mainly just squeeze and constant tension to finish off the muscle.

Sleep was really good last night, passed right out. Had some vivid dreams as well. Two dreams that I remember. The first dream must have woken me up enough to realize I was awake but I probably didn't move in the bed as I passed back out and another dream right as my alarm went off this morning.

So my legs were super sore yesterday, getting up and sitting down caused a lot of pain haha. That's what I get for not squatting for a while. The plan was to walk for 10minutes and hopefully the legs got warm so I can do running or something but it didn't happen, I was too sore. So I just did some regular walking the whole time. It wasn't that bad but nothing great. Worst part is I have to do legs and back again today, wonderful.

Sleep last night was good, I fell asleep super fast, woke up around 6am this morning and was in and out of sleep until 7:30 when I have to wake up. Some vivid dreams again last night but not as vivid as the night before

Deadlift 6 sets
Standing calve raise superset with lat pulldown 4 sets
Leg press superset with hammer strength low row 3 sets

Went in to deadlift for the first time in awhile. My legs were still super sore from Monday but I figured I'll do as many sets as I can until I feel my form is starting to get bad. I stayed low weight to make sure form was good and tbh my legs didn't bother me, the weight moved really well. I thought I could of got more sets but the 6th set on 1st rep my knee popped and had some pain, I paused at the top to make sure it was ok but by the end of the set I felt more form getting all wacky. Went on to the rest of the workout which wasn't anything spectacular, the leg presses killed my legs. Oddly enough after I left the gym my legs felt a lot less sore than they had before hand though.

Sleep again was good, same thing happened last night that's been happening. I had a vivid dream somewhere in the beginning of the night, this time I was talking to someone who I didn't really want to be talking to so I ended up waking up to get out of it. Then again this morning at about 6a.m. I barely woke up, passed back out and had another vivid dream as my alarm went off.

Saturday

DB curl superset with rope extension 4 sets
BB curl superset with underhand extension 4 sets
Close grip bench superset with preacher curl machine 4 sets
DB curl into DB kickback 3 sets

For whatever reason I just couldn't get a pump. The mirror looked pumped but I couldn't get the feeling and usually arms are the easiest to feel a solid pump imo. I don't go chasing pumps so the workout was still good and productive, I just found it odd. I also felt like I haven't worked arms in awhile so it was nice to finally get back in and do a full arm workout. Because I didn't get a pump I did the DB curl into kickbacks which I feel are amazing for the feeling of a pump and it worked.

Sleep has been solid except Saturday night. For whatever reason I woke up and a bird was just singing it's heart out outside my window. It was a struggle to fall back to sleep with the noise, I ended up putting my AC on to drown the noise even though its been pretty cold where I live. Last nights sleep was hit or miss too, vivid dreams woke me up at some point along with me sleeping on my arm and it being completely dead. I might cut back on the dosage, sometimes the vivid dreams seem to disrupt my sleep a bit and that's what happened last night.

Side lateral raise 4 sets
Standing Shoulder press 4 sets
Facepull 4 sets
Incline bench 4 sets
Flat bench 4 sets
Peck Deck 4 sets

It was an up and down workout to say the least. Started off good and the weight on the side laterals was good, standing shoulder press was pretty bad and facepulls were good. Incline bench was really good, I was really happy with the weight and reps but then flat bench was a struggle. I think I was hungry but I was trying to push through it. I noticed it over the weekend that eating was a bit difficult. But yesterday during my 3rd meal I really struggled to eat it, I felt like I just kept chewing and it wasn't appealing. I'm a fast eater and it took me 20 minutes to not even finish my lunch, I finally said I'm not enjoying this and stopped. Figured I would be hungry after my workout and same thing but to a lesser extent. I usually inhale food after the gym but it was a bit of a struggle. I'm not on any appetite suppression supplements so I don't have a reason why this is happening, hopefully it goes away soon.

As far as sleep, last night I noticed I fell asleep quickly but it felt super light. An hour after I went to bed I rolled over and looked at the clock, one of those times where you have to question, "was I sleeping or not" type things because the sleep was really light. After that though I got pretty good sleep.

Best kind of sleep when you wake up as if you didn't sleep but feel super refreshed. It's freaky. If I may share, that didn't happen to me today, as I woke up and crawled to the coffee machine... lol. 15 minutes later. Perky as a high school cheerleader at a prep rally.

Squat 4 sets
Leg press 4 sets
Leg extension superset w/ lying leg curl 4 sets
Weighted pull ups 4 sets
T bar row 4 sets
Rope pulldown 4 sets

I was happy with my workout. Squats caused very little pain during the set, in between sets I was alittle sore in my groin but nothing too bad. That alone I was thrilled with. I was happy with my weight everywhere, nothing mind blowing but solid. As it starts to warm up where I am I was sweating like crazy which might give off the appearance that I'm working harder than I am but I felt like I was giving solid effort and keeping the intensity high. Legs got a really solid pump super quickly once again, probably from not squatting for awhile before last week.

Sleep was fantastic last night. Fell asleep quickly and stayed asleep all night until about 6a.m. when the bird came to sing. I let it go for a minute or two hoping something would get it fly away but on went the air conditioner and I went back to sleep. Its supposed to get really warm today so the air will most likely be on all night tonight and I shouldn't have that problem.

100 crunches
10 minutes treadmill
weighted crunch machine
10 minutes treadmill
weighted crunch machine

OK so for anyone new, last year I read this article someone wrote about fat spot reduction. It's not possible but the author said if you can get the area warm, more blood will go to that area and then if you burn calories it will help reduce fat from that area. I figured I'd try it, not that I thought it would work but whatever it's worth a shot and at the end of the day if I still get my cardio time in then it doesn't really matter right? I didn't notice any better results. However I just read an article about starting your workout with 1 set of 100 leg presses, the weight isn't important and it could be just the sled you use. The author talking about getting more fibers in the legs which will lead to better leg development and could cause fat loss in the area. So I decided to mix things up and try what you see above. The start the session with 100 crunches, which I've been doing before my cardio each day. Then yesterday I read an article of trainers giving their best ab tips and a majority said use heavy weights. So I loaded the machine with weight and did it between the intervals. Again I highly doubt it's going to cause magic but it's fun to switch things up and make things interesting. I know "science" training is a big thing and ppl follow what science tells you to all the time but at the end of the day the training also has to be enjoyable to keep you motivated and from dreading doing it.

Sleep last night was fantastic. I fell asleep so fast that I didn't even turn my sleep timer on my TV on. I woke up and the TV was still playing. I have not done that in a very long time.

Tennis

So I didn't go to the gym, it was so nice out I decided to go play tennis. When I say nice, it wasn't actually nice out it was a million degrees and I was dying. I started getting a slight sunburn in what felt like 15 minutes. I'm not sure if it was a really good workout or not, because I was going to be sweating bullets regardless but I played for over an hour.

Also this weekend I let myself off the diet a bit. Because I have been struggling to down some of my normal food plus I felt a bit lean and flat I let myself go to counter act it a bit. Had some pizza, had some cheesecake, and tried ostrich for the first time. It was kind of like steak but it's low fat and I think they overcooked it, I asked for medium rare and it was more medium. I won't need to eat it again

Sleep has been fantastic but I'm almost done with my tub of Sedation. Sleep has been no problem and for the most part staying asleep without any problems as well. I'm tired right now but I know I slept good so hopefully I snap out of that quickly.

Squat 4 sets
Leg press 4 sets
DB step ups 4 sets
Weighted pull up 4 sets
T bar row 4 sets
Rope pulldown 4 sets

Changed things up a bit, with getting back into squatting plus groin pain I've been going light on the squats and attempting to go heavy on the leg press. Yesterday my groin felt good so I went heavier than I've been on the squat to test it out. Felt good and didn't appear to have any problems. Going heavy on the squats sort of set the tone for the rest of the workout. The last set or 2 of each exercise I loaded the weight and didn't pay any attention to the amount of reps I got. Could of been 3 or 5 or whatever and it was no big deal. I was sweating like a mad man. Wasn't even hot out but I was dripping sweat pretty early on in the workout. Next week I may try and increase the squat sets to 6 and see how it goes.

Sleep again last night was good. Fell asleep pretty easily and stayed asleep until about 7am. That's been the time the last 2 days where I wake up and just force myself to lay there with my eyes closed for the extra half hour. I usually fall back to sleep a bit which is fine.

Chest and Shoulders

All I can really say is I worked chest and shoulders. I got out of work and as soon as I got on the highway I was at a stand still. It took me an extra 30-45 minutes to get to the gym. So I had to get in there and move quickly to get my volume in. I didn't really attention to how many sets of each exercise I performed and just kept going. I know I started on a chest press machine and shoulder press machine mainly to move quickly and get the work in to ensure I got some blood into the muscle. What I found was I was so anxious to get enough work in that I moved so fast that I ended up getting in like 15 sets, nothing breathtaking but I had a really solid pump and did feel challenged so I was happy overall with the workout.

Didn't sleep well last night, passed out easy but had some vivid dreams and was awake about an hour later. Stomach was a bit iffy too, maybe lay over from the weekend of pizza and what not. Was able to fall back to sleep pretty good though.

100 crunches on ab lounge
10 minutes treadmill
weighted crunch machine
10 minutes treadmill (farmers walk)
cable rope crunches
10 minutes treadmill (farmers walk)

I did cardio haha. Nothing special to report, I started the cardio the same way I have been. The first 10 minutes I play with inclines and speeds, run a little and walk a little. After that I decided to do some farmers walks with relatively light weight, the first round I did 2 minutes on 1 minute off. The next session I put the incline up a bit and did 1 minute on and 1 minute off. Wasn't that warm in the gym at all but I got a nice sweat going. Felt like my heart rate was higher than the machine was reading but I don't like trusting those machines.

Sleep wasn't good last night, I was awake in an hour and this morning I woke up a few minutes before the alarm. The sleep just didn't feel like it was quality. I'm not groggy right now but I can see myself having that 2 o clock yawns and exhaustion set in. I only have a little bit of Sedation left and was going to split it up for 2 more days but I may just take the rest tonight to ensure myself a full nights sleep.

Deadlift 8 or 9 sets
Standing calve raise 4 sets

I went into the gym yesterday with one thing in mind and it was to deadlift. So as you can see that's what I did. All day I kept picturing the deadlift and was excited to get in the gym. By the end of the day I was tired and didn't know how the session would go. The session went well, I wasn't super amp'd but I felt pretty good. I just kept going up in weight, a few sets were low reps 5 and below. Then the last 2 sets I reduced the weight and rep'd out. At the end though I could tell I was really fatigued. My hamstrings felt like they were the only thing still firing and the bar was gradually moving away from my body as the set continued. I decided to close out with some calve work since I don't do much of it. They seemed to get fried quickly after all the deadlifting, they were burning super early in each set.

I polished off the rest of Sedation last night and slept like garbage. I don't know whats going on, I woke up an hour after I fell asleep once again, went back to sleep and then woke up again at 3am. What I'm thinking is less may be more for this product. I'll get into it during the final review a bit more though.
