As an "older" lifter I struggle to get adequate servings of fruits and vegetables. Fruits add a ton of sugars to your diet and can create problems in exceeding the dreaded carb limits. Also, my digestive system is not what it used to be so probiotics are necessary. This all results in lots of capsules to take. I hate swallowing caps or pills.

Along came Controlled Labs Orange OxiMega Reds powder. Take a look at these ingredients:

Other supplements I'll be taking:
Joint Help, BCAA, Glucosamine and Orange Triad.

As of now here are my stats:
Height 5'6". Weight 157 lbs Age 54

Max Lifts Starting (actual)
Bench: 230 lbs
Squat: 185
BB Deadlift: 315
Machine Shoulder Press: 105

Workouts:
All my workouts are on a daily basis in my garage gym. They are generally 1 to 1.5 hours long and utilize combinations of an Ironmaster machine and free-weights:

Currently I'm back to running the One Lift A Day (OLAD) program after having back issues. I use a HR monitor to time when my HR returns to a point that I can begin the next set.

Feel free to post anything you'd like to motivate or make me do my best. If my weights for any lift seem "off" it might be due to incorrect form. Don't flame me (PM me instead) as I'm still learning. Welcome to my log!

Final Summary of Controlled Labs OxiMega Reds. (thanks Sean and CL for allowing me to log):

1) Mixes perfectly, can add it to many other PWOs without issues.
2) Taste is "earthy" but goes down easily.
3) Effectiveness can only be judged long term but the probiotics in this cleared so many GI problems I was having.

This has been added as a staple to my daily supplement regiment. Controlled Labs is taking over my supp cabinet: StimIno, OT and now OxiMega Reds.



First impressions of OxiMega Reds:
1) Mixes perfectly! It even changes color if you let it sit (from a rusty orange to red in about 2 mins - it's cool to watch)

Week 1 Summary of Controlled Labs OxiMega Reds:
1) Mixes perfectly! It even changes color if you let it sit (from a rusty orange to red in about 2 mins - it's cool to watch)
2) My older GI system has not had any issues with and it's actually improved some "things".
3) My digestion issues continue to improve. I'm lactose intolerant and I still eat cheese and ice cream. Normally I'd "suffer" from the "effects" but not this week. So far, very good!!

Week 2 Summary of Controlled Labs OxiMega Reds:
1) GI system continues to improve.
2) Digestion improvement. I can eat bean soup and not have issues! Normally one bowl would kill me but I've eaten 3 bowls in the last 3 days without any issues! Digestion problems? Not if taking OxiMega Reds!

Week 3 Summary of Controlled Labs OxiMega Reds:

1) GI system feels great. Suggest 3/4 scoop as the probiotics in Reds work hard on the GI system.
2) Mixing with other Supplements: no problems with Athletix Ergonine, Finaflex PWOs, Muscle Feast Pumped Raw PWO, Dynamic Formula 1 or Man Gameday. Don't mix with Hyde as you will be "inconvenienced"!

Ok, took the OxiMega Reds for a spin this morning in a fasted state. Mixed 1 scope into 4 oz water:

It mixed completely with no residuals. The taste is like orange and fruit punch mixed with a sour finish. Not bad at all.

The only complaint is that CL usually uses a great plastic scoop that has a "long" handle but not here. Please add this long handled scoop into future tubs.

Just started this a few weeks ago. I never realized how important it is plus it can save your life! I read a story about 2 people that were hit from behind at high speed. The impact was so strong that it literally snapped one person's neck! The survivor was a wrestler. The doctors told him that his neck training saved him.

Its cruising along. I will be out longer than i thot. Still 2 badly herniated discs and nerve damage in my neck and full tear in my rotator cuff. RC will need surgery to repair but only if ABSOLUTELY neccessary will that happen. Ortho next week will tell me. Looks like it will be Leg day alot.

My digestion is vastly improved! So happy about this. I've taken probiotics in the past but did not see this kind of improvement.

It was a low energy struggle today! Winter blues!

I find by laying the forehead in the top of the incline bench that it takes the stress off the lower back. Winter is an OLD MAN!

Also, if you're really working to keep the forehead seated you're inevitably gonna limit "butt pop" which is gonna help keep weight off the bar, further sparing the lower back. Not saying strict rows are better or worse, but they certainly can give the lower back a break.

Wednesday: Chest/Tri: Chest Dips and Tricep Extensions
Thursday: Shoulders: OHP
Friday: Legs: Extensions or Squats
Saturday: Chest: Flat Bench and Inclines
Sunday: Upper Back: Rows or TBar Rows

Specific routines do not matter as much as the work, effort and consistency put into a handful of big compound lifts, using weight progressions and eating enough. The crux of any big solid gains.
