Iron Flex Diabolix Log

At last! I am ready to get this log bumping! Big thanks to IronFlex and all the guys for giving me this log opp. Got my first bottle in yesterday and was told the second was on the way. I am ready to get this thing started!

First thing first. I have run roughly half a dozen PH cycles in my life but none in the past two years, maybe 2 1/2. So this will be breaking my cherry all over again. I was forced into semi-retirement Jan 2013 for personal issues but came back to the gym full force since October 2013. At that time my maxes sucked. I could only bench 225x3, squat 315x3, and had a roughly 405 squat after not lifting for 9 months. Since that time I have busted my ass and my PR's currently stand at 365x1 for bench, 475x1 for squat, and 545x1 for deadlift. I am a powerlifter by heart although I do not feel like I have quite met "Powerlifter" status yet.

As far as workouts go, I am a big fan of Layne Norton's PHAT training and also 5x5 training. I generally train 5 days a week if at all possible and only take rest days when work interferes, when I need sleep more than I need another consecutive day, or I've met my 5 day quota and there is tail to be had. I hate cardio and I doubt you will see any of it in this log. I will however be pulling a Barry Bonds because I'm in a softball league :fest30:

Going to play Diabolix by ear but what I can read from other logs I am going to start at 75mg and probably stick in a mild range since this is my first cycle in a while.

Ok so for the first day of this run I probably didn't get a whole lot stronger yet so why not test that old squat max and see where she is?

My plan is to go hard and heavy this whole run. Starting next week it will be centered around a 5x5 plan with hypertrophy added and extra days to cover bodyparts not emphasized by the 5x5 program. Looking to break PR's and punish my body and make it grow.

Had a great day today. Worked, shot 9, and hit the gym!

Diabolix was at 75mg again 2 am, 1 afternoon, 2 PWO. Ive already hit chest, back, shoulders, and legs this week so that 1,000 rep arm workout looked pretty interesting to try. And it was a very humbling experience...lol I got about 600-700 reps of it in before my gym closed and that was more than enough for a first attempt. I would start at a certain weight and do them as drop sets if I couldn't complete. It looked something like this...

EZ Preacher Curl 70x20, 70x20, 70x11 drop 50x9, 70x9 drop 50x11, 50x20

Cambered Bar Pushdown 120x20, 120x20, 120x20, 120x12 drop 100x8, 120x7, drop 100x7 drop 80x8

Cable Curl 120x20, 120x20,120x12 drop 100x8, 100x14, 80x6, 80x20

Overhead Rope Ext 100x20, 100x20, 100x12 drop 80x8, 80x20, 80x20

Ran out of time here but as you can see the last couple exercises I just focused on getting sets done. My arms were so engorged I couldnt come within 4 inches of touching my left pec with my left hand. It was ridiculous. I will do this workout every other week to gauge the benefits of this run so Ill do it at least twice more. Thats pretty much it for today, it will be interesting how sore my arms are tomorrow...

My arms were swole as hell. I'm not sure about home runs. Hoping to average one a game. ..lol. my line drives will take someone's head off so I try to bomb it more often then not.

Today was an off day after 5 straight workout days. Tomorrow is starting my 5x5 program back up and it looks as daunting as ever :)

Yeah, I finished my last round of it the end of July and added about 50 lbs to my squat max and 20-30 to my bench (all naturally). Didn't see much of an upside to my Deadlift since it's only once a week for deads, but this time around I'll add in some more accessory lifts for deads to hopefully boost it up. It's a 3 day a week program and the other two days I workout will focus on shoulders, back hypertrophy, calves, and arms ect.

08-31-2014 Day 1 5x5

Had a great workout today. Initial muscle filling is definitely beginning. Overall sense of well being and confidence is up as well.

Checked weight yesterday and today. Not surprising to me I went down from 227 to 223.4. I had added a couple pounds being home for some good home cooking and after I week I finally got rid of those extra couple pounds. Feeling pretty lean once again.

Workout was on point. The month off of 5x5 and my hips and knees felt great. Squatting 3x a week kind of takes its toll whether you are doing it right or not so I really feel refreshed and ready to give this program everything I have!

Squat 195x5, 245x5, 295x5, 345x5, 395x5 ( no break in form, difficult but solid throughout).

Row 135x5, 155x5, 195x5, 225x5, 255x5

Bench 155x5, 195x5, 235x5, 265x5, 305x5

Reverse Hypers with 45 lb plate 3x15

Abs, roughly 150 reps.

Baked salmon, sushi, teriyaki chicken, and white rice post workout :)

Hoping to get close to a 400 max on bench and to shoot past a 500 max on squat, and to work up close to 600 on deadlift. My goal is to have a solid 1500lb total before I start competing.

Still feeling very good so far on this run. Day 5 is in the books. Woke up at 223 even this morning so back down to where I was before vacation. Still feeling pretty good. Decided to hit shoulders hard and do some back hypertrophy.

Stuck with hypertrophy as I have my first deadlift day looming tomorrow.

Had to be quick today. About 45 minutes for a workout I would normally take my sweet time with. Still was able to complete it. Going to do a smorgasboard tomorrow. Whatever I am feeling as I will have about an hour and a half before softball practice and I dont want to jump into or rush my 3rd 5x5 day. I will be out of town thursday into friday for work so I will get in whatever workout I can at the hotel gym or local gym if I can find one.

Oh he'll yeah. It's a 3 day a week program

Day two is 4 sets of incline, dead, squat with squats being at more of a maintenance weight.

Day 3 is bench, row, squat again but six sets with 5th set of each being 3 reps at highest weight and 6th set being the same weight as the third set but at 8 reps.

Then the next week, whatever weight you did 3 reps of (highest weight) is what you will complete your sets at with 5 reps.

It's a great linear progression program. I only failed at the dead lift portion of it last time. Probably because they rely on your squat building your deadlift but my deadlift was already a solid 120lbs higher than my squat. It's only half that now so I'm hoping to hit new numbers with both very soon.

I can't do heavy weight low rep for more than 2 weeks. It hits my cns and joints too hard. Glad I'm not into powerlifting.

Don't get me wrong, on my compound lifts, I go 4-6 reps but only for 1 lift. The rest is 6-12

Quick update on Diabolix. Aggression is very apparent in the gym and in life in general. Things that annoy are definitely pissing me off more. lol. Libido is strong as hell as can be attested to by the dead hookers in my basement. Muscles are firm and hard throughout the day. A little bit of lethargy here and there but not bad. Acne (dammit) is coming in a little here and there.

So I keep avoiding rest days because I never do know when I will be forced a rest day so I continue to do what I can when I can. Woke up today thinking about my deadlift. I want my deadlift to go up with this run and I don't want to fail my numbers for this 9 week 5x5 program. So I decided in addition to the deadlift day I would try to accomplish rack pulls once a week and SLDL's once a week if possible on non-program days. With the help of Diabolix I should get a decent strength boost and also the recovery I need to squat 3x a week and do deadlift-oriented workouts 3 times a week as well (with crossover occurring the middle day of the program).

So today I went in with full intention of doing rack pulls, if nothing else, after work but before softball. Well behold I get stuck at work an extra half hour, cutting my workout time to 45 minutes. Not only that, some asshat was doing lunges in the power cage! This is typically something that would annoy me, but I was downright pissed. Barbell Lunges. In the power cage. 95 lbs. The only power cage. I talked to the guy and he said he had 3 more EXERCISES to do in the power cage after lunges

I walked away fuming, cursing under my breath and picturing myself screaming at the guy. Again, usually annoyed. Today slightly more than annoyed.

So I did 4 sets of weighted back extensions to focus on lower back

I did another 4 sets of weighted crunches (25 reps)

And then I did 5 sets of cable pec flies. Just kinda touching up on things I felt were lacking through the week.

After this, the guy is transferring from lunges to 135 pound deadlifts for reps.

Another barbell without a cage next to the guy opens up. I claim it and load it with the weight the other guy is doing. I wait for him to take a break and then I calmly explain to him why I need the power cage and that I set up his deadlift station and he is super nice and wants to know what a rack pull is.

Moral of the story is walk away, collect yourself, and wait for a solution. Don't kill anyone and give lifting or supplements a bad name. lol

Rack pulls! Finally! Bar was set slightly above the knee but I would have liked it a little higher, oh well, for today it worked.

225x10, 315x10, 405x5, 455x5, 545x5, 595x2, 635x1

Wasted a lot of the time I had at the gym today but still was able to do what I really wanted to do. 635 wasn't bad. Bet I could pull 675 next week. My back wasnt sore from deadlifts yesterday, but you bet your ass I can feel it already tonight.

Tomorrow I will be out of town, so most likely an easy hotel gym circuit and hot tub unless I can find a local gym close to the hotel. Ill do what I feel tomorrow and look forward to my 3rd 5x5 day Friday.

Sidenote: Even after pulling that weight I stayed loose enough to crush some softballs. Games start monday and the season only lasts 5-6 weeks so it should be on like Barry Bonds the whole time :D

Secondary note: Any update on the second bottle guys? I know I will want to bump up to 90mg sometime I just don't want to do it too soon and run out seeing as each bottle lasts 18 days @ 75mg/day

Updates! Sorry guys been away from a computer but still hitting it hard.

I think Diabolix is starting to kick a little bit in a couple different regards. Friday's workout was a bit sluggish and the weights felt pretty heavy, probably in no small part to my overnight work trip and getting back late friday before my workout. My body felt absolutely destroyed from Rack Pulls Wednesday. Quads, abs, back, traps all super sore so Thursday was an off day while I was out of town. Didn't see the point. Friday I hit my numbers but it was a slow grind the whole time. Saturday was a bit better. Did an arms day to finish off the week.

Weight has stayed relatively the same. I look lean and dry as hell in the morning but food/water I seem to react to and bloating out a bit throughout the day. Lower back tightness and muscle cramping has kicked in after workouts (my arms were cramping like hell last night). But weights also definitely are feeling lighter. Veins are popping and muscle fullness throughout the day is increasing. Supplementing magnesium and potassium along with my Taurine daily and drinking as much water as I can to try to stay hydrated.

Double-Header softball tomorrow. Doing my 5x5 before or after or whenever I can fit it in. It will get done though. This week should be relatively open for some extra work after Monday so hoping to add some exercises in and do another heavy rack pull day and the 1,000 rep arm workout in also.

If the body isnt bouncing back as much I would stay to the standard 5x5 style with only 1 set of Deadlifts. Strong lifts though man rest up

Thanks guys. I will rest when needed. Im really banking on some increased recovery time at least so I am going to push myself. I really want to break my deadlift plateau and hit 600 before the end of the year and I have been stuck for a few months now.

Today was a solid workout. A lot better physical energy than Friday although I overdid it a bit with 2 scoops of Hypermax slammed right before. lol. ****'s right.

Tuesday was another fun day. Peeled all the skin off my left leg playing softball. Its huge and hurts like a bitch. Hopefully it heals up fast...Ill be deadlifting in long socks tomorrow most likely. haha.

Weight still hasnt budged at all really 224-225 lb range.

Strength is starting to kick. Got a PR on seated military press. Did shoulders today. My back is sore as hell from back to back days of softball (im in weightlifting shape not playing sports shape apparently).

It's still doing that but not quite as bad. Hoping by the weekend to have full ROM and to be nice and scabbed up so I can get back to what I love doing.

Over the weekend I took a day off and then hit a heavy arms day today. Still working whenever I can. Probably the soonest I will be able to squat is Wednesday but will continue to work whatever I can.

Barbell Curl. Sets up to 115lbs for reps

Close-Grip Bench. Worked up to 245x10

Preacher Curls Working sets of 100x8-10

Decline Skullcrushers Working sets of 100x10

Weighted Pullups/Dips. Sets of 10 worked up to +65 lbs

U Bar Pressdowns.Worked up to 160x10

Guillotine Curls. Worked up to 160x8

I am really feeling strength kicking in and a leaning effect from the compound is becoming a lot more apparent. I really hope my second bottle gets in by tomorrow so I can continue this run.
