Epic - day 1

Starting weight - 184

Big, big thanks to hvactech and the gang over @ LG Sciences for giving me this opportunity to log their product, EPIC! I'm always looking for a different preworkout supplement, and when I saw this, I knew I had to give it a shot. I really dig the liquid delivery and how quickly it hits!

The bottle is definitely bigger than I expected! The thing is huge and heavy!!

It has 2 dosing options. The first option, called the STANDARD DOSE, is to put 1 serving (22ml) into 10 oz. of water 15-20 minutes prior to workout. The other option, also called the INSANITY DOSE. This calls for pouring 1 serving into the attached shot glass up to the fill line. (my bottle didn't come w/ a shot glass, so I stole one of my kids medicine cups for accurate dosing). Hold the shot in your mouth for 60 seconds swishing it around and then swallow completely. Let me tell ya, that Standard Dose is very intense already!!! I'm not sure I want any of that Insanity stuff! Lol.. I've dosed it twice now. Yesterday for my shoulder workout, and about 20 minutes ago, before I got on this work computer. I'm friggin amped BIG TIME right now!!

Yesterdays shoulder workout was off the friggin chain! Sure, I'm taking trenavar right now, but that first dose yesterday brought my workout to a whole nother level. Nother, lol... The energy, so far these 2 days is not mild at all, but at the same time, it's not all jittered out either!
It's crazy high, but that's what we want for a preworkout, right!!?? Especially me, because my work schedule has me waking up @ 3am for my workouts. I'm starting PCT probably on Monday, so this is definitely going to be of great help during this time. I'm also going to start training for a half marathon in November. I think this will also help there.

I'll try to keep this log active and not too boring. Thanks to all those that check it out. I got a feeling this is going to be a great run!

Epic - Day 2

Weight 184

SLAM!!! That's how it hit me this morning when I held the shot under my tongue for 60 seconds. I think w/in about a minute or 2, I was feeling the energy! Never before have I had such a convenient preworkout. I mean, I could literally sit in the parking lot & drink it right before walking in!

This morning's back workout was right after getting off a 12 hour shift where they kept me fairly busy. I was a little tired by the time 5am rolled around. That's why I decided to try the insanity dose. Stuff is no joke! I finally walked into the gym by
6:30 & was still amped up & ready to roll.

The flavor (Blue Raspberry) is excellent! The only thing, as far as I'm concerned, that it's missing, is some agmatine. That's fine though, definitely no knock on LG. I'll keep running this exactly as instructed, & maybe in a couple weeks toss in some agmatine for some more fun.

Tonight should be a much quieter night, so I should be hitting the gym for chest tomorrow morning fairly well rested.

Another thing I noticed with this is the energy & how long it lasts. It's not an "all day" type of energy. I mean, I've used this twice now, & both times was getting off nights, so later this week, when I've slept all night, I'll get a better assessment of it. But, as of now, it feels like shortly after my workouts, the energy fades away. Definitely no crash, and there's no jitters either. Basically, the best of both worlds!

Got off work this morning. My arm is killing me! Was thinking it's tendinitis, but now I'm not sure. Benching last week and yesterday seems to aggravate it the most.

Taking the day off to rest my body & take the family to a local water park.

EPIC - Day 6

Weight - N/A

I think this just officially became my favorite preworkout this morning! Last night, while getting my things ready for work today, I pulled out the bottle of EPIC from the pantry... It dawned on me that I could sleep in an extra 30 minutes because of how quickly this stuff kicks in! Sure enough, I got up this morning @ 3:30 instead of 4am! I took my INSANITY DOSE, and within minutes, I was ready to roll!!

I slept in a little yesterday, (Tuesday) and got up and went for a 3 mile run. Once again, this stuff is awesome for that as well!! Normally, I'd get up & take some sort of pill or powder to get me up & motivated. Well, that requires drinking a good amount of water. For jogging, that doesn't work well for me, cuz eventually, during the run, the urge to take a leak will arise. I normally hydrate pretty good the night before when I know I'm going to be running the next morning. Yesterday, I was able to take my shot of EPIC, and just a few sips of water. It was my first time running since May, so I had to take it easy... I ran just under 3 miles in about 27 minutes. I hurt all the way through! LOL.. Getting old.

This morning, I planned on going to the gym, hitting arms for about 30 min, then getting 3 miles in on the treadmill.. OUCH! That tendonitis on my left arm really hurts & flared up bad trying to hit some db curl warm-ups.. I tried different variations of the curl and really found no real position of comfort. I think I only got about 4 sets of the machine preacher curls and rope tricep push downs in before hitting the treadmill. I ain't gonna lie though, the pump from just those sets was awesome!!! Literally, about a 15 minute arm workout produced some sick pumps!

Like I mentioned the other day, I'm training for a half marathon. This EPIC is going to be perfect for this on these early mornings!! It's not till November, so I may be buying another bottle or two to get me through that race! Yes, this stuff really is that good!!

It's down in New Orleans. I ran a 10k down there in April and loved it. We all know the party atmosphere of New Orleans, well it all carries over into the race. Live jazz bands along the course, water stations serving beer & mimosas! This one benefits children's cancer research, so I'm more than happy to help out. I've already raised $350, so my race registration is free.

This EPIC is gonna get me through strong.

Thanks y'all. The workout was slammin from start to finish. The forearm pain has subsided enough to get some good workouts in. This morning was no exception. I kept the volume up and the weights just a tad bit lower.

The EPIC had me wide open all the way through and pretty much through the rest of the day! Lol, it's amazing what a full night of rest will do. I also noticed a good amount of sweat too. Nice little thermo effect going on.

So yesterday was supposed to be cardio day. I got 1/2 mile from the house & damn near fell to the ground. Not sure exactly what happened. Extreme pain in the bottom outside of the foot.

ForumRunner_20140813_073523.png

Woke up this morning, still feeling some pain, but not quite as bad as yesterday. Took my EPIC mixed in water so I could take some pills too.

Let's just say that the pain in my foot didn't slow me down this morning! Went in to hit chest & back. The benched were being used so I started chest on the hammer strength. Worked up to 2 45's on each side. I knew it was gonna be a good day. Finally got on the flat bench and went with the dbells. Worked up to the 95's!! Holy **** dude! I think I could have gotten the 100's, but didn't want to hurt anything. Feeling hella stoked right now!

Got back from the Dr a little while ago. He THINKS is MIGHT be a stress fracture. I read up on them last night, & it said those wouldn't show up on x rays. Sure enough, nothing showed up... He saw the shoes I wear for running & he recommended higher arch supports and more cushion. I stopped @ Academy & got some Ironman inserts w/ more arch support and cushion. Wouldn't ya know, I'm walking better already!! Still gonna take it easy from the running till probably the weekend, maybe longer. Time to hit the weights that much harder!!!! lol..

Felt about 80% better today! About an hour ago, the pain started back up so I'm icing it down before bed. This getting old stuff sucks!

Had a great shoulder workout this morning though. Strength is still way up on all my major lifts! 95's on the dbell shrugs today. Felt like a friggin boss in there this morning. After hitting shoulders, I still had tons of energy, so I did 25 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical, followed by another 20 minutes LISS on the stationary bike.

Took yesterday off cuz it was my first day back to work. This morning, however, I got up about 3:30 & took a quick insanity shot. Within minutes, I was wide open! By the time I walked into the gym, about 20 minutes later, I had some major tunnel vision and focus. I had the gym to myself! I guess everyone else was sleeping at 4 am on a Saturday morning. Lol.

I hit my arms from every angle possible. When I walked out, my arms looked about 2-3" thicker all the way around!

I've never gone above two plates on each side. I had the 2 45's and put a 25 and still felt good. Figured what the heck, who not try 3 45's! Sure enough I got 2 sets each with 6 reps!!

Love me some epic!!!!!

Well, I think it may be time to go see a foot specialist... Tried running this morning. Made it just over 2.5 miles & BAM!!! The shooting pain came back! Throughout the run, I was feeling a little pain every once in a while. I was making a conscious effort to have good form & not take too long of a stride.. This pisses me off more than you can imagine! I'm thinking plantar fasciitis.. **** hurts!! Icing it down right now.

Might go take out my frustration on my shoulders later today....

EPIC - Day 20

Weight - 182

This has been a helluva ride!!* I don't think I've ever enjoyed a preworkout as much as I am this one!* The convenience of it all is number 1 on my list!* The taste (raspberry) kicks ass too!!* The energy and pumps, well, those go w/out saying. *EXCELLENT!!

This morning, I went into the gym thinking I'd do some light legs & then focus more on cardio.* I'm done running for a while, so I figured I'd get some HIIT on the elliptical and then some LISS on the bike.

About 125 squats, another 65 leg presses, and 30 seated calf raises, and I finally got to my cardio!! *The workout was at*6:30*this morning.* It's now going on*8pm*& my legs are very sore!* Gonna be a long recovery on this one..* Lol..* After the leg workout, I did 20 minutes HIIT on the elliptical and another HIIT session on the bike for about 20 minutes.* Needless to say, I was soaked!* There was a nice puddle of sweat under the bike when I was finished.

I didn't want to leave the gym, so I went to the db's and knocked out about 3 quick sets of curls and rope push downs..

The energy stayed with me all morning and into the afternoon.

This stuff rocks!!
