Damn, triceps still sore today. I could have done without that for my swim today which was the same as Monday. However, my times were better today - probably because I got more sleep this time. Killer hour run planned today at lunch including 3x1 mile at hard effort - gonna be a HOT one!

That run killed me. The first two mile intervals I was able to do around 7 min. The third mile I did in 9 min. I thought my head was going to explode from the heat. I'll be chugging water the rest of the day.

So I decided to beat my legs into submission today...as if I hadn't already the previous days.....

6:40am 80 min bike ride on 1 scoop TSN Cardio Igniter followed by whey shake and carbs
9:15am big egg/ham/cheese/turkey bacon sandwich +brussels sprouts + small apple
    11:00am 30mg caffeine, .5g Beta-Alanine, 1g Taurine
    11:20 half scoop Speed X3
11:30 easier 30 min run including 10 strides, 10 min break eating a roll of Smarties then 50 min of LEGS/abs

4x BB lunges 145 lbs, 8-9 reps each leg
4x standing calf raises holding a 50 lb DB, 17-20 reps
3x single leg DB stiff legged deadlift 50 lbs, 9-11 reps
3x strength band standing knee drives 10-11 reps
3x Bosu trainer DB squats 50 lbs, 19-20 reps
    SS jacknifes 17-21 reps
3x Ab wheel rolling side to side hitting obliques 7 reps each side

I took the Speed X3 when I did so that it would effect me mostly for my leg workout since the run was somewhat easy. However, it wasn't as easy as I had hoped with the heat and fatigued legs. Plus I didn't want my breathing to get out of control and overheat running. I sipped on Purple Wraath intraworkout. The Speed X3 gave me plenty of drive to knock out the leg workout. No let down. However I was uncomfortably hot during my lift having not cooled off quick enough from the run. Performance was good. Still jittery. I kept the rest periods a little longer from 120 sec on lunges to 30 sec on calf raises. The longer rest periods are better for me on Speed X3 so I don't feel like a crazy person running around. I decided to add 3g creatine to my recovery shake today in hopes of not being sore for my big bike/run workout on Saturday. I don't normally take creatine while training for triathlons.

Legs are sore today but no where near what they could have been. However, I'll probably still be a little sore tomorrow. I may be switching out the single leg deadlifts for the less intense bosu ball hamstring curls. My lats were actually sore from those for this morning's swim, could have done without that. So here's how the this morning went. 5:50am 1 scoop TSN cardio igniter, 1g Taurine. 6:35 started the following 40 min swim workout.

    500m warmup
2x300m at race pace, 20 sec rest
2x200m at race pace, 15 sec rest
2x100m at race pace, 10 sec rest
    100m cool down

Same intense swim, just one less 300m interval. 1800m total. During the swim, I sipped on 6oz orange juice, 25g whey, half scoop Speed X3. It was another good swim performance wise even though I only got 7 hours sleep. I felt really good heading into my chest/back/shoulder workout. I took 10 min to change, eat 1/4 cup raisins and a jolly rancher Here's how the workout went which lasted 45 minutes:

    4x Incline Bench 205 lbs, 7-9 reps
SS Reverse grip Hammer Strength High Row 180 lbs, 8-9 reps
    3X DB bench 90 lbs, 6-9 reps
SS Seated cable row all of the weight for this machine, 14-15 reps
3x Free Motion wide lat pull down 67 lbs, 8-10 reps
SS High cable flys (same machine, same positioning) 43 lbs, 8-9 reps
3x BB Shoulder press 145 lbs, 7-9 reps
SS DB reverse flys 25 lbs, 9-11 reps
SS DB alternating side/front raises 25 lbs, 12-14 reps

The energy from Speed X3 came on nicely. Sipped on Purple Wraath intraworkout. I noticed the thermo effects after just the first SS. I was taking long rest periods 90-135 sec. So the thermo effects weren't making me uncomfortable like they have in the past. My breathing remained under control with the longer rest periods. I was pleased with the endurance I had this workout, performance was great even at the end, still felt fairly fresh. I'm sure my longer rest periods contributed to this. I had a feeling of confidence during the workout. I noticed myself jamming to my music a little more this time but not nearly as much as I sometimes do. My nutrition was on point today, normally I find myself getting hungry at some point when I don't eat before my swim. I hate eating before a swim, makes me feel sluggish/heavy. Once I got to work I noticed I was still a little jittery but I didn't have the racing feeling. I think I'll continue to mix the Speed X3 with whey when I can.

Great workout today - swim/bis/tris. 8:15 big breakfast. 10:45 1 scoop TSN Cardio Igniter + 1g Taurine. 11:30 started my swim workout that lasted 40 minutes. Sipped on 24g whey, 8oz orange juice, 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 1/4 scoop Purple Wraath.

    500 Warm up
4x200 with last 50 of each sprint, 30 sec rests
    50 easy
4x150 with last 50 of each sprint, 20 sec rests
    50 easy

2000 yards total. By the end, I was breathing fairly hard, not sure if it was from the Speed X3 or just the sprints. Performance was really good, minimal fatigue. 10 min break to change and eat 1/4 cup raisins. The following lift lasted 40 minutes.

4X wide grip BB curl 115 lbs, 7-9 reps
4x reverse EZ curl bar 95 lbs, 7-9 reps
4x DB overhead tri press 85 lbs, 8-10 reps
4x cable tri pressdown 191 lbs, 7-10 reps
    2x cable D handle curls 37 lbs 13-15 reps
SS cable tri kickbacks 17 lbs 16-17 reps NO REST

I was very happy with my performance during this lift especially triceps, saw some good increases. I was taking 90 sec breaks, which may have had something to do with it. Endurance was fantastic. I didn't feel cracked out. I seem to now be reacting hitting my sweet spot with my supplementation. Although, I probably didn't need a full scoop of Cardio Igniter today. I got 8+ hours sleep. The 1 scoop got me really jacked up for my swim. I had a good pump and vascularity during the lift. I had more than enough energy to finish the workout, would have done more but life was calling. I got home and did 1.5 hours of yard with lots of energy still, felt great. I couldn't tell if I was racing postworkout because I was still moving a lot. No racing feeling right now 4 hours later.

Short intense bike/leg/ab workout yesterday. Only got 6 hours of sleep. 5:15am 110mg caffeine, 1g Beta-Alanine, 1g Taurine. 5:45 started 30 min bike ride including 7x 2.5 min all out with 75 sec rest, sipping on 8oz orange juice, 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 1/4 scoop Purple Wraath, 25g whey. 10 min break eating 1/4 cup raisins. By this time, I was feeling really good and couldn't tell I got less than optimal sleep. Here was the lift that lasted 40 minutes. I switched up the order and SS a little so it would go faster.

4x BB lunges 155 lbs, 7 reps each leg
3x strength band standing knee drives 10-11 reps
3x single leg DB stiff legged deadlift 50 lbs, 9-11 reps
4x standing calf raises holding a 50 lb DB, 18-21 reps
    SS jacknifes 17-21 reps
3x Bosu trainer DB squats 50 lbs, 19-20 reps
SS 3x Ab wheel rolling side to side hitting obliques 7-8 reps each side

The only time I rested was during lunges for 90 seconds. Minimal rest the remainder of the workout switching between sides or SS. Never felt fatigued. I was just having to catch my breath a lot - I think the Speed X3 contributed to this. Heart was beating super fast too. I don't think I was able to "bang" out any more reps but I was feeling strong and confident during the workout. Even though I was rushed to get through my workout, I didn't get that racing feeling. I had a catch flight for vacation at 9:40am. I crashed on the flight. I'll probably be using Speed X3 for a couple open water endurance swims while on vacation.

Fasted open water swim in the Gulf of Mexico yesterday on 1/2 scoop Speed X3.

    6 min warmup
    3x 9.5 min swim, 45 sec rest

39 min total. I felt really strong swimming. Focus was good. I seem to be breathing harder than normal for just an endurance swim.

When breathing, you really have to turn you're head further to the sky in case there is a wave coming. Quite different from swimming in a pool!

Morning fasted swim/run workout today. 7:05am half scoop Speed X3. 7:45 started swimming. Right before I hopped in the water, I chewed up 1/2 caffeine pill for 100mg caffeine. It was just a long open water endurance swim today - 4 min warm up, 35 min non-stop swim. Endurance was GREAT. I noticed a slight increase in breathing rate. I could have done without the thermo effects today, Gulf of Mexico is really warm. I noticed good focus. Run was really good:

    5 min easy
    4x 2 min hard, 2 min easy
    2 min hard
    1 min easy
    1 min sprint

Total 26 min. I noticed really good recovery during the easy portions. Sitting here at 2:30, I still notice quit a bit of energy and that's with 2 beers in me The jitters weren't apparent today but I haven't really been sitting still until just now.

Fasted endurance 7 mile run this morning on 8 hours of sleep. This sounds crazy but it wasn't. I had a big dinner the night before and a generous serving of frozen yogurt as well, never got hungry. 6:10am half scoop Speed X3, 100 mg caffeine, 1/2g Beta-Alanine. 6:35 started running. I felt really good the first 2 miles before I started getting hot. I couldn't distinguish between the thermo effects and the extreme humidity this morning. Endurance was great, breathing remained under control. This was the farthest I had run all season. I kept up 8:50 min miles. I had a decent kick left in me for the last mile. Endurance-wise I recovered well and was ready to go again an hour later, probably would have got injury if I had done so. Sitting in church at 11:00 I could feel my heart thumping a little, nothing crazy. Good workout!

Back from vacation! Pretty good bike/upper body workout today on a little less than 8 hours of sleep. 5:55am 1 scoop TSN Cardio Ingiter. 6:30 25 mile bike ride including 3x15 min mod-hard intervals. Sipped on 25g whey, half scoop Speed X3, 8 oz orange juice. Ate a granola bar 3/4 of the way through. Ride ended up being 85 min. Finished strong with lots of energy. Took 10 min to change, then performed the following workout which took 45 min.

    3x Incline Bench 205 lbs, 7-10 reps
3X Reverse grip Hammer Strength High Row 185 lbs, 8-9 reps
    3X DB bench 90 lbs, 6-9 reps
SS Free Motion wide lat pull down 67 lbs, 9-10 reps
3x BB Shoulder press 145 lbs, 8 reps
SS DB reverse flys 25 lbs, 11-12 reps
SS DB alternating side/front raises 25 lbs, 12-14 reps
3x wide grip BB curl 115 lbs, 6-8 reps
SS DB overhead tri press 85 lbs, 8 reps
3x reverse EZ curl bar 95 lbs, 7-9 reps
SS cable tri pressdown 185 lbs, 8 reps

I sipped on Purple Wraath intraworkout. I was a little out of breath with all of the supersets and limiting my rest to 80 seconds. Great energy throughout the workout, decent pump. Endurance was awesome as usual, felt strong the whole time, no let down.

I'm just under 4 weeks out from my next triathlon. I'll be taking Speed X3 just 3-4 times a week now - upper body lift, lower body lift, endurance cardio session(s). I will do a final review and end my log in 3 weeks to take a week off of stims before my race on 7/27.

    Really good run/lift today on almost 8 hours of sleep. 6:10 100mg caffeine, 1g Taurine, 1/2g Beta-Alanine. 6:40 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 24g whey. 6:45 6 mile that took 49:45:

1st half - include 5x1 min hard, 1 min easy - averaged 8.5 min miles
    2nd half - steady mod-hard pace - averaged 8 min miles

Really happy with my time, significantly faster than my 6 mile run in Florida, although it was a little cooler and definitely less humid. My legs were even still a little fatigue from yesterday's bike ride. Breathing remained controlled. I did not notice the thermo effects. Once I got back I still felt ready to tackle my workout. Took a 10 min break to eat 1/2 Panera scone, 1 Lindor truffle, and a few Sprees - YUM! Here's how the lift went which took 45 minutes sipping on Purple Wraath:

3x BB lunges 155 lbs, 7-9 reps each leg, rest 2 min
3x standing calf raises holding a 50 lb DB, 17-22 reps, rest 45 sec
3x Bosu ball hamstring curls, 10-13 reps, rest 45 sec
3x strength band standing knee drives 11-12 reps, minimal rest to switch bands
3x Bosu trainer DB squats 50 lbs, 19-20 reps
SS jacknifes 20-25 reps, rest 45 sec
3x Ab wheel rolling side to side hitting obliques 7 reps each side, rest 45 sec

I was very pleased with my performance considering this lift was after a long run. I got a couple more lunges compared to the prior lift. I did swap out the single leg deadlifts for the Bosu ball curls, I just needed something less intense at this point in my triathlon training. I still had plenty of energy post workout, a little jittery, no crash. I was pleased with my supplementation/nutrition this workout.

Really good run yesterday performance-wise, only got 6.5 hours sleep. I did 6 again. 6:10am 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 1/2g Beta-Alanine, 1g Taurine, 50mg caffeine. 6:30 half banana, small granola bar. 6:40 started running at a mod-hard pace increase speed ever so slightly throughout. I finished a full minute faster than last time even though my legs were still a little sore from lifting and the prior bike ride. I felt really good throughout, averaged 8:05 min miles. My pace was probably a little too intense for using Speed X3. I felt a little over-stimulated but nothing crazy. I didn't feel any thermo effect as it was in the low 50s.

Tried something a little different today with supplementation for swim/upper body lift. Big breakfast at 8:30. 11:15 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 1/2g Beta-Alanine, 1g Taurine, 23g whey. 11:30 serving of honeydew melon. 12:00 performed the following swim workout that lasted 40 minutes sipping on 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 1/4 scoop Purple Wraath:

    500yd warmup
    8x100yd as 50 sprint/50 easy, 20 sec rest
    8x50yd as 25 sprint/25 easy, 20 sec rest
    200yd cool down

This dosage was still too much for me for an intense cardio workout. Breathing was somewhat out of control while doing my sprint intervals, gasping for air after each flip turn. Took a 10 minute break to change and eat 1/4 cup raisins. I ended up having a really good lift, felt no fatigue from the swim. Here's how it went:

    3x Incline Bench 205 lbs, 8-11 reps
SS 3X Reverse grip Hammer Strength High Row 185 lbs, 9 reps
    3X DB bench 90 lbs, 6-9 reps
SS Free Motion wide lat pull down 70 lbs, 10 reps
3x BB Shoulder press 150 lbs, 8-10 reps
SS DB reverse flys 25 lbs, 11-12 reps
SS DB alternating side/front raises 25 lbs, 14-16 reps
3x wide grip BB curl 115 lbs, 6-8 reps
SS cable tri pressdown 185 lbs, 10 reps
DB overhead tri press 90 lbs, 6-8 reps
SS 3x reverse EZ curl bar 95 lbs, 8-9 reps

It lasted 50 minutes. I sipped on 3/4 scoop Purple Wraath. Energy was through the ROOF! I went up in weight or reps on a few sets, pleased with that! I noticed a slight thermo effect 15 min into the workout. I kept rest periods between 75 and 150 sec, so I wasn't getting winded and didn't feel like I was racing around. Recovery between sets was fantastic, I felt more than ready for the next set after just 1 min even though I was supersetting. I was still plenty jittery postworkout. Hours after the workout, the overstimulated effect seems to be wearing off quicker than before.

Great bike/leg/abs workout today. Here's how the day went. 8:15 big breakfast. 10:15 1 scoop TSN Cardio Igniter, 1g Taurine. 10:45 started biking sipping 24g whey, 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 12oz gatorade. The following ride lasted 70 min.

    16 min warmup
    4x 2.5 min all out, 2.5 easy
    remaining mod-hard effort

This ride was not as long/depleting as others so along with having plenty of energy in the tank, I still felt relatively fresh. Here's the workout that lasted 50 min.

3x BB lunges 155 lbs, 8-10 reps each leg, rest 2 min
3x standing calf raises holding a 50 lb DB, 22 reps, rest 60 sec
3x Bosu ball hamstring curls, 12-15 reps, rest 60 sec
3x strength band standing knee drives 11-13 reps, minimal rest to switch bands
3x Bosu trainer DB squats 50 lbs, 21-20 reps
SS jacknifes 24-25 reps, rest 60 sec
3x Ab wheel rolling side to side hitting obliques 7-8 reps each side, rest 60 sec

Increases pretty much across the board from last workout. I was resting a little longer than last time. Today was the "cleanest" my energy ever felt. I probably could have tolerated a little more caffeine or Speed X3. Great endurance throughout the lift. I didn't notice a jittery feeling post workout. I wouldn't say I was overly stimulated during the workout. Breathing and heart rate seemed to remain under control. I enjoyed today's workout, performance was great. Just a little tunnel vision today, no extra rage.

Good morning endurance run today. 7:15am half scoop Speed X3, 1/2g Beta Alanine, 1g Taurine, 30mg caffeine. 7:45 small granola bar. 8:00 7.5 mile mod pace run. Had a good euphoric feeling first half of the run. Averaged 9 min miles, nothing too strenuous. All in all, pleasurable run, wasn't over stimulated.

Swim/upper body lift today. Late lunch at 2:00. 4:00 1 scoop TSN Cardio Igniter. 4:30 started the following 45 min swim:

    500yd warmup
14x 100 as 50 sprint, 50 easy, 20 sec rest, every fifth set take an extra 50 easy
    200 cool down

2200yd total. Sipped on half scoop Speed X3 intraworkout. Took 15 minutes to change and eat a mini box of Nerds. This was a fairly hard workout but I was more than ready for the following 55 min lift.

    3x Incline Bench 205 lbs, 7-11 reps
3X Reverse grip Hammer Strength High Row 190 lbs, 8-9 reps
    3X DB bench 90 lbs, 6-9 reps
3x Free Motion wide lat pull down 73 lbs, 9-11 reps
3x wide grip BB curl 115 lbs, 6-8 reps
SS DB overhead tri press 90 lbs, 7-8 reps
3x cable tri pressdown 191 lbs, 8 reps
3x BB Shoulder press 145 lbs, 8-9 reps
SS DB reverse flys 25 lbs, 12 reps
SS DB alternating side/front raises 25 lbs, 14-16 reps
3x reverse EZ curl bar 95 lbs, 8-9 reps

Gym was pretty crowded at this time so I couldn't do as many supersets resulting in a little longer workout and my order changed some. Sipped on a sample packet of Finaflex BCAA SAA. Very happy with my performance today since swim was tough as mentioned before. I was a little jittery since I didn't have any whey with my Speed X3. Great endurance throughout the workout, no let down. Jittery postworkout, but it wore off fine an hour later.

Supersets are so hard to get in sometimes. Hate when you clearly using stuff and people take it on you.

Great bike/leg/abs workout today. Here's how the day went. 8:45 big breakfast. 11:00 1 scoop TSN Cardio Igniter, 1g Taurine. 10:30 started biking sipping 22g whey, 1/2 scoop Speed X3, 1/4 scoop Purple Wraath. The following ride lasted 60 min.

    16 min warmup
    3x 8 min hard, 4 min easy
    remaining mod-hard effort

I felt like a million bucks the last half of the ride. Perfect amount of stimulants for me today. It was a hard ride but not too long so I had a really good lift. I took a 10 minute break to eat 1/4 cup raisins and a couple other small sweets. Here's the workout that lasted 50 min.

3x BB lunges 155 lbs, 10 reps each leg, rest 2 min
3x standing calf raises holding a 50 lb DB, 21-23 reps, rest 60 sec
3x Bosu ball hamstring curls, 13-15 reps, rest 60 sec
3x strength band standing knee drives 11-13 reps, minimal rest to switch bands
3x Bosu trainer DB squats 50 lbs, 20-22 reps
SS jacknifes 25-28 reps, rest 45 sec
3x Ab wheel rolling side to side hitting obliques 8 reps each side, rest 60 sec

Sipped on 3/4 scoop Purple Wraath. Again saw good increases from last workout. Another clean energy day. Great endurance throughout the lift. I didn't notice a jittery feeling post workout. Heart rate was beating pretty fast today but nothing crazy. Slight euphoria, tons of drive. I noticed a really good motivation on the last exercise to finish strong. Minimal jittery feeling post workout.

Swim/upper body lift today. Got plenty of sleep. Big breakfast at 8:30. 11:15 110mg caffeine, 1g Beta-Alanine, 1g Taurine. 12:05 started the following 39 min swim:

    300yd warmup
1700yd race rehearsal swim, first 400 hard, remaining settle into strong pace

2000yd total. Decided to up the stimulants today. In 8oz of water I mixed 2/3 scoop Speed X3, 23g whey. I drank half right before and right after my swim warmup. I didn't have any problems with being overstimulated in the swim. I was able to settle nicely into my "strong" pace. Alll in all, great swim. Took 15 minutes to change and 1/4 cup raisins and couple sweettarts. I was more than ready for the following 55 min lift.

    3x Incline Bench 215 lbs, 6-8 reps
SS 3X Reverse grip Hammer Strength High Row 190 lbs, 8-9 reps
    3X DB bench 90 lbs, 7-10 reps
SS 3x Free Motion wide lat pull down 73 lbs, 9 reps
3x BB Shoulder press 155 lbs, 8 reps
SS DB reverse flys 25 lbs, 13-14 reps
SS DB alternating side/front raises 25 lbs, 14-16 reps
3x wide grip BB curl 115 lbs, 6-7 reps
SS 3x cable tri pressdown 191 lbs, 10 reps
DB overhead tri press 90 lbs, 7-8 reps
SS 3x reverse EZ curl bar 95 lbs, 8-9 reps

Pleased with my performance as usual. I didn't feel overstimulated during the workout. Tremendous amount of energy. I was still lacking that fire-breathing rage I sometimes get. I noticed during one my shoulder giant sets that I was experiencing zero mental fatigue and only muscle failure - love this feeling. Slight euphoria today. 55 min is a long lift after a higher priority cardio session. I was ready to be done but still had good energy post workout. Sitting down back to work, I was fairly jittery but was expecting this.

This is my last time using Speed X3 for this log. After this weekend, I have two triathlons in two weekends, so I'll be taking it easy working out and taking a break from stims. I'll post a final review later this weekend.

I'll post this in the product review section as well. Thanks Marms!

First off, I want to thank Lecheek for the opportunity to log Speed X3. Unfortunately, I don't think this supplement is for me. I think I'm sensitive to Yohimbe and the amount of Yohimbe in there was just too much for me. There is also a third stimulant of Synephrine HCI, making Speed X3 very potent. I only took a full dose (1 scoop) on an empty stomach once. I experienced extreme energy, my heart was pounding, and I remained on edge for quite a while post workout. During the workout I felt like I was running around a mile a minute. The tunnel vision was so intense that I wasn't even able to jam to my music. With Speed X3 being touted as an energy supplement, I was hoping that it would be versatile enough to take for cardio. However, I was unhappy with my experiences when taking with cardio. Anytime I ramped up the intensity, my breathing and heart rate seemed to get out of control. Therefore I only used it for steady-state easier cardio days. I also don't recommend using Speed X3 when you know you'll be exercising in hot temperatures. There is a definite thermogenic effect with this product. When I dosed it close to a full scoop, I noticed a warm sensation at the start of the workout and increased sweating throughout the rest of the workout. After taking for a while, I did find my sweet spot with the supplement. I would start by taking extra caffeine (50-150mg), .5g Beta-Alanine, 1g Taruine. Then a little later, I would take half scoop Speed X3 with 20-25g whey. Mixing it with whey seemed to minimize the negative side effects for me. Unfortunately with a half scoop, I wasn't getting as much of the performance enhancement properties, just pure energy. No matter the dosage, I always experienced great endurance and recovery during lifts. I always had plenty of drive left at the end of workouts. For me, I enjoyed Speed X3 the most when I took longer rests between sets ( > 90 secs), otherwise my heart rate would get out of control and I would feel like I was running around. I cannot say it helped much for pumps because I was normally dosing it at a half scoop. I didn't experience any extra rage while taking this. On some other PWOs, I feel like I want to run through a brick wall, not with Speed X3, just extreme energy and tunnel vision. I was able to see some performance gains while on Speed X3.

So to sum it up, I'll give it a 3/5. My sensitivity to Yohimbe really decreased my satisfaction for Speed X3. Although, it makes a really good value when dosing at a half scoop. However, I am looking for a little more in a PWO than just pure energy. If you are not sensitive to Yohimbe, I would definitely recommend giving this a try. This would also be a good alternative to Red Bull.

Got third in my age group, my 61 yr old dad won his age group! I average 6 min 54 sec miles in the 5k run and 20.2 mph on the 22k bike. Very happy with those times especially when temps were in the low 80s.
