A couple of notes regarding pre-meet training:
I have 7 or 8 training weeks to go (still waiting on final date). If it's 7, I'm going to do 3:1:2:1 leading into meet week. If it's 8, I'm go to do two 3:1 cycles leading into meet week. I'm going to leave the gear be and not make any adjustments to anything except maybe using the Overkill knee wraps.

Third attempt is 705 and I did that straight weight a few weeks ago, but it was a bit high. It felt solid on my back, though. I'll have to play it by ear and see how everything goes each week. I'd like to take it again at some point, though, so it's not a huge shock to the system.

I went in and did some mobility work today along with 10, ~30yd Prowler pushes. It may have been that I was the only one going heavy yesterday and it threw off my timing, but I noticed my conditioning was bad yesterday. I'm not doing these to drop any weight, but I know it'll end up happening in some form or fashion. The last time I implemented these into my routine was last Fall and I got down to 208, IIRC, within 6 weeks or so. I won't be cutting weight for this upcoming meet and am undecided about which weight class I will be doing most often. I also got confirmation that the meet is the first weekend in August, which is 8/2.

Got a wild hair up my ass and decided to do some ultra heavy OHP. After that, I went lighter and focused on M-M connection on the assistance. There was a little discomfort on the board press, but that was from a bad setup since I had to use the ****ty benches that feel like they're lubed with butter. The main thing for me is getting that setup down and maintaining position.

SS Yoke Bar GM (I think it's an 82# bar)
    172x8x3

    Prowler Pushes (90# loaded)
    60Mx5

Speed, speed, speed. Today was all about speed on the pulls and the GM. Positioning wise, this is probably the best my sumo has ever felt and looked. Part of it is improved pop from the suit and part of it is focusing on the aforementioned hovering technique. I forgot how much I hate the Yoke bar and how much I suck at them as well. By the end of the Prowler, I was absolutely done. It took about 45 minutes before the flu went away, but I know this will pay dividends in terms of conditioning and overall energy throughout the day.

    MyoSynergy notes and mini review:
This stuff is the real freaking deal. The DOMS subsided after a few weeks, but the fullness has stayed. I've taken many a test booster/ergogenic supplement in my 12+ years of training and only a handful have actually truly impressed me and this is one. The only other one that has even approached this is the old Activate and Rebound XT stack circa 2005, but the fact that my strength is continuing to climb even at a much more advanced stage in my life is truly impressive. In terms of body comp, I haven't taken pics in awhile, but I will once I finish my second bag. By no means is it a priority or even a tertiary goal, but there has defintely been improvements as I've dropped a notch in my lifting belt with my weight roughly the same.

All my presses felt good except my last one, which went to hell from the liftoff. I recovered somewhat, but then I messed up off the boards as I went straight up instead of up and back concurrently. Either way, I'm extremely satisfied with the progress I'm making on regaining my bench strength. The first attempt in the vid is roughly what I'm expecting my opener to be give or take a few pounds.

You have become one with the shirt, man. Those look excellent. The little hiccup with 455(?) to a 1 is whatever. Happens. But your improvement is vast.

Yeah, it was 455. I'm hoping I progress to where I exceed my goals for bench this meet. I have zero doubts that I'll tie my PR. Based off how the 425 looked, I'd say that having that as my opener, which was my conservative plan, may be a bit too light.

I'd agree with that. 425 was absolutely crushed. If all the stars align, you look like you'll be in the 475-485 range.

Bit of a bipolar session. Early part of squats were great and then it got funky on the first two sets with straps up. Figured out it was due to using my quads to unrack instead of my hips. I was able to hit depth with good pop on the final set and really open up my hips. Another thing that I noticed was that the interset recovery was much better than last week and that the Prowler is already paying dividends.

This was a day that was just bound to go to hell. I was moving for most of the day and was pretty depleted walking into the gym. I took more time to get going and then hit the bench. My first set with 455 was an all out disaster. First, it was misloaded as there was a quarter missing on one side. Then, my foot slipped out after I touched the board. Finally, on my third attempt, I got the damn rep. It probably wasn't the best idea to touch twice in one session, but I've been struggling with handoffs. The bar was loaded at 405 just to practice the transition and I decided to just go for it. After that, I went to 425 as it's my projected opener and it was more difficult than it should've been. Assistance work was easy after that and I'm ready for a deload.

These days happen in equipment, man. How hard was it to touch 405 and 425? At least you know you can get 425 even on a horrible day, sounds like a perfect opener.

405 wasn't too bad. 425 was harder to touch. I was low on gas at that point and didn't stay as tight on the bottom. I cramped HARD on 405 in my QL and it effected my setup for 425. AC is pretty pissed and inflamed right now from that misload.

The first 2-3 weeks left me with DOMS I haven't had in years. It levels off after that unless I do drop sets or really slow eccentrics. With my style of training, DOMS is pretty rare and it was refreshing to get some.

Quick deload session. Did what I needed to do to get some blood flowing without taxing my CNS. I wasn't really tired going into this day, but kept the gear at home so the temptation to ignore the plan wouldn't be there.

Wise to leave the gear at home. I know the feeling.

I'm itching to pull heavy right now, but weary of the callous not being fully healed. I'm slightly less than 6 weeks out right now and need to do it at least 1-2 times prior to the meet. Nothing above my opener (578#) and it's mainly to get more practice at ~90% in the suit with straps down. Those ****ers pop you off the floor when loaded properly.

Quick little session. Tried to do some chest presses, but AC is irritated today from me sleeping on it too much the past few days. I'll be doing some Graston and MFR this evening to alleviate some of the inflammation.

Did what I needed to do today. Hips are feeling good and mobile along with my knees and back feeling solid as well. I'm looking forward to squat on Sunday to get back to the heavy stuff after this deload, which is, let's be honest, pretty boring.

I think I may have peaked too early. I've struggles the past few weeks with handling weights that are ~50# lighter than I was doing. I have 5 weeks to figure this all out.

This is the stage in the training cycle where you can't let the doubt creep in. Maybe plan an extra deload or try to manipulate something, but stay on your game, don't mind**** yourself.

There's less than 5 weeks until the week. I could go briefs only for 2 weeks, deload, and then hit my opener 6 days out.

Forgot to add that I've finished all of my MS and will be writing a final review soon.
