Got a bottle of Evomuse Nerve Restore ( http://www.nutraplanet.com/product/evomuse/nerve-restore-90-capsules.html ) my rep package last night, having been waiting to try this. Here is my disclaimer: If you did not know, I am an Evomuse rep. However, I still believe I can be objective based on what I am looking to get out this. Let's start with an over view of how I ended up in this place.

About a year ago, I was returning from a roughly 6 month medical leave My experience left me with what the Doctors say is neurological damage and compromised blood flow in my left leg. During this process I dropped from a solid 270 to a much weaker 243 while sitting in a hospital bed for 22 days. That was 27 pounds of time in the squat rack and dead lifts and rows.....you get the idea, this was not a weight loss strategy I favored. I kind of let the diet go to hell sitting around the house being bored and restricted on activity and shot back up around 290, so that is about a 47 pound swing of fat gain. Although the weight will not be the focus of this log, I must confess it took me damn near a year to get my groove back as far as proper mind set about training and diet and have capped the weight gain at an embarrassing 315 but have dropped 10 to 305 in the last 3 weeks.

From a functional perspective, I have weakness and some atrophy primarily in my calf (inner head) and hamstring in my left leg and to a lesser extent my left quad. I can calf raise myself with just my right leg but not the left. Lying Hamstring Curls are pretty weak with the left leg and Leg Extensions also, so these will be my primary focus. I am also prone to some cramping with lower body work but this is getting better as my body has started to develop ancillary veins to work around my blockages. I can still ride bike for cardio and have been doing so consistently 3x/wk over the last two weeks (come on spring, want to ride a real bicycle).

I am running a 4 day split with Wave Ladder Training at it's core, usually a 3/2/1 scheme, centered on Deads, Bench, Squat (to bench) and OH BB Press. Heaviest sets for these have been 280x3/2/1 for deads, 290x3 for Bench Squat, 235x3/2/1 for Bench and 155x3/2/1 for OH BB Presses. Rehab left leg isolation work has been Lying Leg Curls 20lbx8, seated calf raise 45x20, seated DB Calf raise 30x30 Diet will be loosely based on IF but I cannot pound a 250-350 grams a protein a day due to early stage Kidney damage and often feed from 12-9:30 p.m. Because I often do not get home till 7:30 or later after only having lunch, targeting around 2400cals/day.. I will continue to use Evomuse CardoTryx and Defuse to help with continued weight loss (plus some of the ingredients in CardoTryx have been shown to aid in growth of blood vessesls). I will also use PES Enhanced for PWO as well as either PES Amino IV or Purple Wrath inter workout.

Tonight my calves measured 16.25in left and 17.75in right (will post a pic of both for visual comparison later.)

Here is what I am hoping to get out of this (key word is HOPING) Reduced Neuropathic pain in my left foot, overall increase in strength as well as in lower body work and measurable growth in the left calf.

Let's rock this!

3/14/14 Was very pleased with the way things went overall tonight.

Bench Squat (w/u 135, still waves of 3/2/1)
215, 255, 285 (Was just a bit cheap on my depth at 295 but hit all reps), pulled the bench out, tried to go deeper than the bench

Left Leg Only Extensions 40x10+5 with assist from right leg, 7+7 assist with right leg

Standing OH Press (all reps to at least below chin if not to collarbone) 3/2/1
120, 140, 160 These felt really good so I kicked in another five pounds for 165 3/2/1, ten pound jump over last week and felt easier than last weeks 155 set did!

1 Hand Corner Pivot BB Delt Press 85 (plate weight only) x 9/9, 9/9 (l/r) this is a increase of 4 reps/side (last week was 8/8, 6/6)

EZCrusher 100x4/3/1

Standing 2 H OH DB Ext (Full ROM) 65x8/8/8

Lying Cross Body DB Ext 25x12/12 (l/r)

Seated alt Db Curl 35x12/12, 40x10/10,8/8 (l/r)

Ny strip... yum!
Indeed it was YUM! ;)

3/17/14 Rear Chain. Was a "The Iron giveth and the Iron taketh away" sort of day. The l;ast 3 weeks have seen me hit my heaviest DL wave for the requisite 3 reps only to fall short an the 2 and 1 rep set. 2 weeks ago was 275x3/1/0, so I only bumped 5lbs last week, hit 280 for the expected 3/2/1.

DL – Warm up at 135, still waves of 3/2/1 215, 255, 285x3/0/0

BO BB Row 190x6 (hip started feeling unstable so I stopped at 6then..)8/8 that is up five pounds and 4 overall reps over last weeks 185x8/6/4

RDL – 190x8/6 (up another 5 pounds and 2 reps)

D Bar Pull Down 140x10, 150x6/6

Weighted Hyper Extension 55x9/7+5 with out the DB.

BO DB Row 85x8/8 (l/r)

Rehab work: Lying Leg Curl 20x10 (3 with assist from right leg)

Today was another give and take day I guess. Did not hit my targets on my main lift. However, even a not so great work out is better than no workout. This is just subjective, but I find that my limp is not as prominent except for when I sit with my left knee bent for a while, which is actually a blood flow issue.

Flat BB Bench (w/u at bar, 135, still 3/2/1) waves at 205, 225, 245. 245 went 2+1 slightly assisted rep/2/1

Inc BB Bench 190x4/3/3 (Was hoping for 5's)

Inc DB Bench 75'sx10/6

Cable Fly Compound set Low/medium/high 50;bs 10/10/10

Cable Crunch 140x50 reps.

3/20/14 Delts and Bi's

1 Hand Corner Plate BB Pivot (Plate Weight only) 90x8/8, 9/9 (l/r) kind of found a bit more push on second, up five pounds and a rep/side over last week,

Seated Arnold OH DB Press 45x10/8

Hammer Strength Frony Military Press 70/sidex8/6

Standing Alt DB 40'sx10/10, 8/8 (l/r)

Wd Grip Straight Bar Curl 70x10/8

Inside EZ Grip Preachers 6/5

Hammer Curl 25x10/10

Hit the bike for just a bit, had to get moving.

3/22/14 Squat/Tri day Today I trained at a different gym, so availability of equipement was different.

Back Squat (free bench was in use, warm up with bar/135, still 3/2/1 waves)
225/265/305 Hit all reps, dropped down to 205, went extra deep and paused at the bottom 2 stes, 6 reps each.

Paramount Squat Press Machine (plate weight only) 180x12, 270x10

Nautilus Leg Extension (rehab work, left leg only) 45x12, 50x8+4 with assist from right leg. This is a 10 pound jump over last week but a different machine so I am not going to get to excited about it yet.

Seated Left Leg DB on knee calf raise at a deficit - 55x20/17 (This is a huge jump)

Standing BW 2 leg calf raise, just using the right enough to keep things moving: x20

Close Grip Bench 190 (possibly 195 not sure if it was a 50 pound bar, seemed extra thick) 6/6/4

EZ Bar Crushers 95x6/4

2H Behind the head DB Ext 65x8/8/8 (another 10 pound jump)

UH Cross body cable pull down 40x12/12, 50x8/8

Still seeing progress some where or another each work out. Improved Mind/Muscle connection is the most noticeable effect thus far.

3/24/14 Chest and Cardio

Flat BB Bench (warm up at bar, 135, still waves of 3/2/1)
205, 225, 245. All reps completed. Seem to be hitting a bit of a wall. Think I will take a tip from my delts and lighten up and go 8/5/3 next week, this always helps me break through plateaus in OH BB Presses.

Incline BB Bench 195x5/4/3 Had no spotter, still up 5 pounds and two reps overall from last week.

Flat DB Press 85x6/5

20 minutes on the bike. This was day 14, if I remember, I will measure the left calf tomorrow night to see if there is any measurable gain.

3/25/14 Did not want to do this in the middle of this log, but the way I have kind of hit a wall and had a hard time getting much intensity going last night, It is time to deload (either that or I am fighting off something) So we will take rear chain day as deload day 1, which will close on chest day next week.

DL 185/205/225 Still 3/2/1 waving

BO BB Row 135 3 sets of 10

RDL 1352 sets of 8

V bar Pull Down 3sets of 10 at 80

Back Hyperextension 2 sets of 10, Body weight only

Hammer Strength Row 45/side, 2x10

Left Leg Rehab, Lying leg curl 30lbs, 6 solo plus 4 with assist from right leg with a slow neg.

Bench Leg Raises 15/5 (straight leg/bent knee)

Seem to be making progress some where each workout, not always my main lifts, but some where. On a more objective note, the left calf measured 16 and 5/8 tonight, an increase of 1/8 inch. Now that is pretty impressive.

Despite the fact that this was another deload day, we say som significant jumps in left leg rehab work.

Back Squat (Focused on depth and mind muscle connections, 3/2/1)
165, 205, 245 then 135x8/8 for as close to ATG as this guy can get.

Leg Press Sled 280x8/8

Left Leg only Extension 50x10+2 assisted, 60x6+4 assisted (big bump here!)

Seated DB On Knee left leg calf raise (at a deficit) 65x20/20 (Ten pound jump over last week)

2 leg body weight calf raise at deficit x20

Standing OH BB Press 3/2/1 waves 95, 115, 135

Corner Plate Pivot Delt Press 45plate 10/10, 10/10 (l/r)

Seated Arnold DB Press 25x10/10

Hammer Strength Military Press 35/sidex10/10

It's just a period of decreased volume to allow for CNS recovery. Glad to see you got back up on it !

Seems my body has "taken" this as a deload week all on its own with the way it's been acting - only three "real" training days and almost slept an entire day [yesterday]! Next week had better be good!
