By lowering estrogen you eliminate some extra water retention and the joints aren't quite as "lubed up" if you will.
Although lowering estrogen does result in slightly higher testosterone levels, when crossing the threshold to joint pain and discomfort there is no extra benefit worth the risk of injury.
