I got my Purus Labs stack in the mail today. First of all thank you Purus Labs for allowing me to try this killer stack! I'm very excited to get started on this stack. I've been wanting to try their products for a while now so this is an awesome opportunity for me.

A little about me: I'm 45 years old, compete in both the NPC as a Bodybuilder and the USPA as a RAW Power Lifter. I have been training off and on since 1989 but got serious in 2006 and placed 2nd in a transformation contest on BB.com In March 2012 I competed in my 1st Bodybuilding show and placed 2nd in the light heavy weights and became nationally qualified. I am now 11 days out from my next show, the Missouri State. I'll be competing in the Novice, Open light heavy and Masters. I will begin my log using Marinade only because after my show i'm off for a week, then I will add D-Pol and SlinShot.

Currently I am 189lbs at 5% BF.

Current diet
: IIFYM 35g pro 55g C and 15g F

Current supplements along with Purus:
Dextrose pre/intra (mixed in Marinade) Super Whey, Multi Vit, Creatine,


My goals with this stack are simple, to increase my productivity in the gym so that I have better, more effective workouts. I will be posting pics and videos as I go along so please stay tuned for that. Be sure to tell your friends to stop by and follow along.

Lol no that's per meal on training days. Off days and refeed days are different. Protein stays the same but carbs and fat are different.

I was like surely not ha
I couldn't last half a day like that. I have to eat every 2 hours. Not because I'm prepping but to keep my blood sugar levels normal and I have a metabolism that's insane. I eat a meal and within 20min I'm hungry again. After my show I'm thinking about trying either doubling my intake per meal or keep the macros the same just get 8-10 meals in instead of 7. I normally eat 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm so I could add a 6am and 10pm in there. :)

Sipping on my MM now. The flavor is really good! Almost like fruit punch bubble gum. Im headed to the gym in a few minutes , today is hams and calves. Ill post my workout ASAP.

I had a fantastic hamstring and calf workout today. Normally I train at a hardcore gym (Impact Elite) but today I had to go to Aspen Athletic to save some time. This gym has NO atmosphere at all, very boring dull gym. But I got my work done!

For the past few weeks my workouts have suffered a bit. I have no endurance or drive. My brain says "lets kill this ****" but my body says otherwise. Not even 10min into it i'm tired and want to go home and sleep.

So, I grabbed my Muscle Marinade and drank 1 scoop approx 20min prior to training. The flavor was really good, mixed easily and the endurance, drive and energy were top notch! My workout went perfectly!!


HAMSTRINGS

Abductor machine: 4 x 20 W/120, 130, 140, 150
Adductor machine: 4 x 20 W/120, 130, 140, 150

Seated Leg Curl: 3 x 12-15 W/120, 130, 140

Great start.
Normally it's a chocolate chip pop tart with walden farms marshmallow fluff on it. But I was craving marshmallows all day lol

Morning HIIT cardio done. 1 scoop MM 15min prior to hitting the gym. MM was a huge help with my cardio today. 15 intervals of HITT at 9 days out is HARD to do bit MM got me through it easily!!

Today was leg day. I am currently 7 days out from the Missouri State so I didn't go heavy on the weight like I would normally. I know a lot of guys do stay heavy but i'm not risking any injuries this close to show time. Last show I was prepping for I was 3 weeks out and strained a tendon in my right hand really bad which prevented me from closing my hand and I couldn't hold on to the bar. So, not gonna go BALLS DEEP with the weight right now, so instead I used higher reps and shorter rest times. I didn't lock out either, i kept tension on the muscle the entire time for one hell of a burn!



QUADS

Leg Ext: 4 x 25 with 100lbs

Leg Press: 4 x 24 with 405lbs

Hack Squat: 4 x 15 with 225lbs

NOTES:

Took 1 scoop MM approx 30min prior to training. Again it was a huge help to me. I'm rather low carb right now so energy and endurance are very low. MM is helping me hit the weights with more aggression, endurance and drive. Without it I know my workouts would be horrible right now. When I did my last show, i was 1 week out and I was doing lying leg curls, after the first set I laid there for a second ... next thing I know a buddy of mine woke me up. I fell asleep on the damn machine!!! lol He said I was out for 5min then he decided to wake me. Same thing this time, I'm very tired all day but MM keeps my endurence and energy up to wear it needs to be.

I actually will try this as it looks pretty good. I enjoy seeing people try different things other than the most common foods.

Blueberry tastes so much better than cherry. I love this meal. On days off ill have it because I get a few more carbs in it. It's rather filling.

Chest and Triceps today. I decided to use FST-7 today, I haven't used that method in a long time. I really like it so I gave it a shot today. Kept it rather lighter than normal as you know, no need to get injured right now.


CHEST

Incline DB Press: 4 x 12 with 75lbs

Flat Machine Press: 4 x 12 with 225, 275, 295, 315

Incline DB Fly: 4 x 12 with 30, 35, 40, 40

Machine Fly: 7 x 12 with 110lbs 30 seconds rest between sets (weight was to light, focused on squeeze)



TRICEPS

CGBP: 4 x 12 with 135

Press Downs: 4 x 12 with 60, 70, 80, 80 (this is an older machine so the weight is REAL. only 1 pulley)

Seated Overhead Ext Machine: 7 x 12 with entire stack (honestly forgot to write down the weight lol)



PWO Nutrition:
70g Whey protein
35g carbs from marshmallows


NOTES: I felt pretty good today. Didn't sleep well last night. This show coming up has been on my mind and I keep running the posing routine through my head over and over which keeps me awake. grrrr.

MM did a fantastic job again, it had me feeling focused and my workout was really good.

Very nice workout today. Hit Biceps, Back, Rear Delts and Calves. I felt pretty damn good even though I didn't get that much sleep last night. MM has been my saving grace the past week, i'm low carb and depeleted so energy and endurance are gone. But MM has helped me to get in the gym and have damn good workouts.

Today was Shoulders and Traps. Yet again I didn't sleep well the night before. I have a very active brain most nights and even though i'm dog tired and very sleepy my brain won't shut off. It keeps thinking random thoughts. Not sure why, i've had this problem for years.

Any way, on to the workout. I kept it a bit light and aimed for higher reps with a good squeeze each rep. It felt damn good. Today is also my refeed day. I get an extra 350g of carbs to load my muscles up with. Today my diet guy had me load up with a total of 550g on top of what is in my normal meals for this day. I made a video showing what I typically eat on refeed days.

NOTES: After my workout I had my PWO shake which had 70g protein in it, then drove home and started my refeed. Finally got all that food in and had to take a nap! CARB COMA!

The Incline machine I used i've never used before. Very hard to do. It forces your chest to stretch at the bottom and really contract at the top, almost like a fly movement. The light weight shocked me. I had no idea it was gonna be that hard lol

MM did a fantastic job again today! One more workout tomorrow and i'm done until after my show.

Ill post pics ASAP but I did pretty damn good. It was a huge show, lots of big boys showed up.

In the light heavy novice there was 12 of us and I took 1st!

In the light heavy masters there was 14 of us and I took 3rd!

In the open light heavy weight there was 16 of us and I took 4th!


Not to bad!

Yeah my strength isn't 100% yet. My workout routine has been changed by my diet guy. We need more size in legs and arms and more width on shoulders so ill be training 6 days a week. 3 heavy days then repeat with 4 higher rep days. Each body part gets hit twice a week how.
