    My hips and knees aren't the best from playing hockey for 17 yrs, so squats take a toll on me. Very hard for me to go as heavy as I would want.

    It's probably a matter of a few years before I have to stop maxing. Those are the same reasons I hesitate to try and max chest-press.

    High rep squats also feel real good the next day. How do you guys' hold up with those?

    Good url ... that should help me out too. I do not do so well with deadlifts, or bent over barbell rows for that matter. I had surgery on L4/L5 when I was 21.. (old hockey injury).. so I tend to put my back out a fair bit doing/trying them.

    Ooh, yeah, some of these exercises should help. You might just keep it light though, I don't know if I would mess around with a back. Kind of like a shoulder, once it is bad, you are out of gas.

    Ya I get nervous with squats/hack squats but go by feel.. if I feel the least bit of a tweak that is all for today...

    I am going to be driving ALL day Tuesday. Well, we are hitting the road at 0730, so I will do a workout early. And we should arrive in Plainwell, MI about 0300-0500 wednesday morning, so after a nap I should be able to hit the gym.
    I found a gym 2 miles from where we are staying that said they would charge me 25$ for 2 weeks, unlimited access. Kind of high, but at least I will be lifting.

    25 bucks for 2 weeks unlimited sounds good to me! Gym memberships must be cheaper in the USA. My daughter/son go to a pretty good gym here and for a student it is about 40/month. If I were to go it would be about 55/month.

    Oh, wow. I thought gym memberships were like $20 a month or something. I like my free on post gyms.
