Burning up the love handles with Combustion

First off, thanks to Resolve and the rest of the fellas with BPS for this opportunity

We are gonna do a 30+ day run of Combustion as part of my persisting recomp/strip out. Am currently in about week 3.5 of a bottle that I had purchased myself and stacked with some other compounds, and have also ran this before and was very happy with the results. Let's see what the next 30 days brings.

I tend to see more results from the tape measure and photos than from the scales so lets get some starting info:

This mornings weight: 265, Waist:41.5in, measured at Navel: 42.5

    Pics taken March 6th and 7th 2012:

Not pretty, but a hell of a ways from 322

Am currently in the 4th (deload) week of a 5/3/1 program (Mesocycle 10) and have dropped weight on my squat in my ongoing pursuit of greater depth. Training maxes for next cycle will be: Standing OH Press -200 (These are done with no push from the hips, bar going below chin if not to clavicle), Dead Lift -410, Bench -285, Squat - 370. Diet if IF Protocols with 16 hour fast and 8 hour feeds which may be adjusted based on my work schedule, Targets are 2700 cals or lower on Lifting days, 2200 or lower on burn days. Additonal sups will be pretty basic: Protein, BCAA, Cissus.

What I know about Combustion already: Never have had any stomach upset issues, does give me a nice sense of being focused and alert but not over stimmed ( I have a very high stim tolerance), kicks the furnace into high gear when I am lifting and I love that, sweat dripping on the floor when setting up for my next set of deads! Effective fat burner. So lets see what the next month brings us!

Final review: Overall this was a very nice run. The combustion did a nice job of helping me to burn more fat based on the 1.5 inches of my waist and at the navel. The fact that I only dropped 4 pounds of actual weight despite the loss of girth demonstrates to me that I likely even gained some mass during this run (have to figure out my DL issues later.)

As a stim, this stuff was a nice way to gain some early morning early morning focus and energy but was not overpowering at 2 am, 1 PM (again, this was for me, I have a very high stim tolerance.) I would not recommend combustion as a stim for the simple purpose of getting cranked for a work out, not a complaint mind you, this stuff was not formulated for that purpose. Oddly enough, taking two with my AM coffee did not bother my stomach but if I drank coffee with my solo afternoon dose I would get some very acidic belches that almost burned, but this would pass fairly quickly.

Would I purchase compound 20 to help with a cut. Not only would I but I have and have been satisfied with my investment. I'd love to match this with a good AI some day just to see how that synergy would pay off.

    I'll definitely be following

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but the most dedicated athletes I come in contact with are almost always formerly overweight. You're making good progress - I look forward to seeing how Combustion helps you!

    3/9/12 Day 4, wk 4 (MC 10 Deload week)
    5:10-6:00

Smith Machine Squat (5's)145, 180, 215. Really focused in getting my butt as low as possible on these.

Boring but Big 5x10 @50% (Barebell Squat to the low end of a decline bench, a bit lower than last week.)
Hit all 50 reps. The sweat was rolling off of me by about set 2, I attribute this to Combustion induced thermogenesis.

    Lying Leg Curl 3X12 @55

    Leg Ext 3x12@120

    Back Extension 2x15

Nautilus Crunch (old style) 120x25, 160x20

Broke fast a little after 12:00, extended feed window till 8:30 because I got home a bit later than I wanted to, this allowed me to cram in another 50g protein. 2517 cals (204 carbs, 222 protein [+36g bcaa], 82 fats) with an estimated burn of 3697.

36g of BCAAs? Now that's the way to do it!

Just make sure your back is staying neutral during those squats - don't sacrifice form for depth.

That's actually a big focus at this time. I used to lean forward more but am improving both that and depth.

It's always been something I struggle with. Us taller guys got so far down to squat that it's a real challenge to make everything perfect. Box squats, like you did for your Big but Boring work, have made a huge difference.

Well, like to say I did not break fast till 3:30 but I have to confess I woke up starved and snagged a bagel and a grapefruit around 2:00AM this morning. Such being the case, I hit the gym today.

    Day 1, wk1 (MC11)

Standing OH Press (strict form) 130x5, 150x5, 170x7

    Boring But Big (5x10 @60%+10pounds =130) 10/10/10/8/8

    Upright Row @ 90 3x10

Face Dwn rear delt raise @25's 15/14

Alt/ DB Curl (Drop set @45/30/20) set 1x12/12/12, set 2x5/5/12

    Straight bar curl @80 10/8

Hammer Curl (light for elbow rehab rather than hypertrophy) 20'sx12/12

Hit 30 minutes of cardio for 180 cals. Was warm enough to get the real bikes out take a short ride with my little guy, just 15 minutes but was good to get him off the stinking couch.

Definitely 'honour'. The Queen's English says so kind sir.

I limit my stimulant intake to pre workout only. 3 capsules of Combustion before a workout left me sweating like criminal in a police line up.

Had a crisis thing to deal with at work so it was either break fast a bit early or not eat till it was already over so lunch occurred at 11:45, shut it down at 7:45. Hit 30 minutes of cardio after work for 180 cals. 1964 cals (157 carbs, 168 protein {plus 24g bcaa}, 71 fats) with an estimated burn of a little over 3500.

Since I have no PWO and a few Combustion to spare from my own stock, I think I am gonna try a bit of an experiment tommorow. Gonna take on pill in the am and 3 before I hit the gym for some deads.

Yeah, man, I tear things up with just 2 pre-workout. However, my favorite pre-workout combo of all time is 2 Combustion + 1 scoop Ultima. Outstanding.

    3/13/12 Day 2, wk 1 (MC 11)
    5:15-6:30

The experiement with 3 Combustion pre-workout was marginal at best, but I have a god awful stim tolerance and our goal here is burning fat, not getting amped. Did sweat like a overheated horse, and that is cool. If I ain't dripping, I ain't pulling!

Dead Lift 265x5, 310x5, 350x5 ( I looked back through my log and was a bit saddened by the fact that I hit 365x7 in January but have to remember that I was on cycle at that time and have also been reworking my form a bit here)

BBB 5x10 @60% = 245 (Hit all 50 reps, 5x10's with deads suck regardless of weight)

    V Bar Pull Down @ 180x9/8/6

Snatch Grip Deads at a 6 in deficit @245x8/6 ( damn near whipped by this point)

Low Pulley Underhand Row @210 x9/7

Gonna hit the core work tommorow before work (assuming I drag my ass out of bed earlier enough.)

Broke fast at 12, finished it off at around 9 with my last 50g proten for the day. Will fast till at least 2 due to my wirk schedule tomorrow, so this in no big deal. 2717 cals (210 carbs, 240 protein {plus 30g bcaa}, 95 fats) with an estimated burn of 4200.

Stats for this week: Weight 261.6 (down 3.4 from start), waist at 41", 42" at Navel (each down .5in from last week). Not a bad week overall.

One draw back of popping 3 Combustion at 4:00pm pre workout? Could not fall asleep till after 2:00 am this morning, good thing it is my late night at work so I could sleep in a bit.

Quiet day, just work and driving. Broke fast at 1:30, shut it down at 9:30. 2056 cals (77 carbs, 182 protein [plus 12 g bcaa] 109 fats.) As an aside, got in a fresh 5lb tub of MGN Cake batter protein (The American Iso variety, the chocolate of that line is a bit too sweet, but the cake batter is good stuff.)

Kept the diet pretty tight today: 2502 cals (167 carbs, 224 protein [+36g bcaa], 93 fats) with an estimated burn of 4292. About 100 of those carbs came from Grapefruit, ate about 5 of those damn things today. Love em. Plus they increase insulin sensitivity.
