    red skin from oleic acid

My transdermal carrier is 65% Iso Alcohol or Ethanol, 25% IPM, and 10% OA.

After 2 weeks my skin has turned red (constant) and itches like a mofo. I think this must be from the OA.

I can't really rotate application sites because I cover every part of my body that I can reach (except my head) 2 times a day.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how i might reduce the redness / itching or should I just endure it?

Are these the only chems you had available? It looks like the old recipie back from the bb.com days. I just mixed my homebrew and it came out awsome. Let me knoe if you want the recipie.

As for the redness, I don't know. Could be the oa, or maybe the high % of iso. The ipm moisturizes the skin, so that shouldn't be the prob.

    Here it is jedi:

    40% iso
    25% ipm
    10% oa
    10% gylcerin
    10% dmso
    5% d-lim

The 5% d-lim really makes a difference. Before I used this recipe minus the d-lim and ipm @ 30%. I got seperation once I would let it sit. On the advice of BDC I dropped the ipm to 25% and added 5% d-lim. The solution mixed better, in that the d-lim helped emulsify (mix oil and water). Plus it smells better. I used this recipie in 240ml and added 15gr of ph.

    Thanks Scorpio!

I am pretty sure that it's the OA that's causing the skin redness.

I am not ungrateful but I would think that, since the OA concentration is the same and this recipe includes DMSO too, the skin irritation would be at least as bad if not worse -- although absorption of the androgens would probably be better with your recipe.

    Am I wrong about this?

You're right. The dmso would help with absorbtion but also cause some irritation. Maybe you just have sensitive skin???

You know I've heard of people trying or mentioning emu oil, which has similar characteristics to OA, being added to homebrews in place of OA. Might want to search and see what you find, it might not cause the irritation. You can also opt to using BDC's T-gel, to see if it may or may not cause the irritation. Also try aloe vera or cortizone in between your two transdermal applications , by this time the phs should be absorbed, plus you'll wash it off before your next application.

I will try your suggestions (cortisone and/or aloe vera). The irritation is just a nuisance - not enough to make me stop or anything! People ask me if I have a sun burn. Might be tough to explain in the winter time.
