Another Abscess Crisis

Well i suppose it happens. currently on a tren/test cycle. i am pretty certain i have sterile gear and i also follow a very sanitary injection procedure.

1. shower w/ antibiotic soap to area being pinned
2. antibiotic soap to hands
3. alcohol swab to top of vial
4. alcohol swab to area

now the area in question is my glute. i pinned this yesterday with about 2 cc's of gear and last night i noticed a warmth in the area. due to other sicknesses etc. i had one 250mg pill of cephaloxin (or however you spell it) leftover and popped it before bed just in case, hoping catching it early would solve the problem. nope

today the area is slightly red but no longer extensively warm to the touch. what concerns me is the area has swollen to about the size of golf ball. i have ordered 100 ml of penicllin G procaine just in case and it should arrive in 2 days.

i attemped to drain the "golf ball" about 20 minutes ago and even aspirating 2 cc's for about 30 seconds i did not draw any puss. this may be because i only possess 25 gauge pins. also, blood came out pin wound and gently squeezing the area did not produce any puss. CONFUSING

i am going to use the antibiotic just in case anyway.

i have two simple questions-
should i follow the instructions on the label dictating about 1ml per 100lbs of bodyweight and:
should i inject close to the area with a slin pin or just generallty any intra muscular injection

I wont mess with it anymore at all. It takes some time for an abcess to form. If it gets alot more swollen and red and it is very hot to the touch than you should worry. I would just wait it out a little while and see if it clears up ( unless it is red and very hot) but you could see a doc anyways as an absess is nothing to mess with....

yes i am aware how serious an abscess is and if the problem does not go away i hold no reservations about going to my doctor.

Was this your first injection on this cycle? What kind of test do you have??? I havent touched any injectable gear (or any illegal gear for that matter) for about 4 years, but on my last cycle of test, I got a similar reaction and came to find out that it was due to the high concentration of benzyl alcohol in the gear I was using. I had sore ass and a lump in each cheek for the whole cycle. it sucked but it worked

if thats the case, dilute the gear with more oil or maybe even some EO

i pin the tren ED at 40 mgs and have had no reaction to it so far.

i pin the test (enanthate) e3d. i pinned it in my lat 2 injections ago and recieved some nasty bruising but that is about it. this is the first time it has formed a "lump" or red marks. this injection would be the 4th test injection i have done so far this cycle. i just got back from a workout and the lump is becoming slightly itchy. looks like ill be needing those antibiotics.

Your health is most important.... keep taking your temperature too, and watch for a fever...

worse comes to worse, go to the doctor and say you were climbing over a fence, and caught a nail, sat on a nail, etc....

Sure, he may give you a wink wink if you're huge, but whatever... dont mess with infections in your glutes, much less any other place.

I really wouldn't worry i've had this and it went away eventually, maybe the oil just needs time to dissipate.

Agreed man!! You need to keep an eye on it of course but it is to early to say if it as an abcess or not IMO!!!!!

I did. Fever the next morning and felt like I just fell out of a dogs ass. Never use a .45 filter, especially for water based suspensions.

Shoot at least 900,000units (typically 3.0ml) to start. Also don't do it close to the site, choose a nice site on the other quad. I have an AB sticky in the OTC forum for future reference. Make sure you don't shoot PGP into a vessel. That can be very scary.

i a pretty prone to gyno so i take about .25 mg of letro ED and .50mg of letro on e3d to keep my nips from even thinking about starting any funny business. less estrogen means less beefed up immune system....so i believe an abscess with me at this point could be a possibility. thanks for the cookies btw its hard not to eat 3 of them every time i walk into the kitchen.

Start munching on ibuprofens right now (400mg every 6-8hrs). That can minimize the swelling and tissue damage while you wait for your ABs to arrive. This will shorten healing time after the infection has been knocked out. If you get seriously feverish or light headed, just go to an ER though bro. It's probably not that aggressive of a bug if it hasn't already killed you or cause serious pain, but don't let it drag on too long. Also avoid calcium, iron and magnesium while you're sick. Get plenty of potassium and fluids though.

(IMO guys should avoid iron supplementation anyway that includes daily multi-vitamins...but I digress.)

Most of these infection causing organisms rely on these minerals to form crucial components of their cell walls and stuff. In fact, it's how AB's like tetracycline and doxycycline work. By chelating these minerals to deprive the infection from using it. That's why your Rx bottle often says "don't take with anti-acids or dairy". Another reason to avoid daily is because of the cross reactivity with ABs and acidophilus. You want it to kill the bad bugs, not the good ones, so drink a glass of milk in between doses of ABs, not at the same time. People often tell me they're sick so they double up on there multi-vits. That's the worst thing you can do! Stop taking a multi (especially if it has iron in it) and avoid all group two metals until you're better. Did I forget to point this out in the AB sticky?!

I totally agree with you my man! I stopped taking a multi about 4 years ago. If I did start to use one again, it would be an iron free version. I'm oxidizing at a fast enough pace as it is!

There is a good, cheap Wal-Mart One-a-Day knock-off that has no iron in it. It's the male formula. There are about a hundred caps for like $3.50.

I think some of the old-people vitamins don't have iron.

i just got up and checked out my little problem and it seems to have gone done a little bit in size. however the skin is very hard to the touch which i cant imagine is a superb thing. I take a multi that does not have iron in it so i should be good to go in regards to that. last night there was also a centralized red point with lighter shades of red fanning out. this is now gone and only a faint red mark remains where the centralized mark was before. probably a good sign. i got the chills last night around 4 am which i thought was peculiar but i wasnt particularly alarmed.

i am beginning to think that perhaps the oil seeped into my sub q tissue. time to move onto the booze and women.

i am administering the anti-b anyway the thought of an untreated abscess is a scary thought indeed

I dont think you had an abcess. I think you had a knot from the gear and then you stuck a pin in it and irritated the site even more!

i might be inclined to take that advice but i have never had a reaction like this before and the way the skin is "firmed up" i wouldnt be surprised if i had pustules by tomorrow. it is almost like poison ivy inflammation and just as itchy. anti-b's should show up tomorrow morning

So this isn't the first time you jammed a pin into a lump and tried to drain something you were not even sure was an absess or not?

i take it you do not approve. this would be the first time i have had this type of reaction. normally i just get the customary soreness that dissipates within a few days. the inflammation, swelling, and redness in the area, firmness, itchiness, and taugtness of the skin is what leads me to believe i might possibly have an infection. i have read your thread concerning your own experience with an infection and i do not see how you can hold it against me for trying to lance the possible abscess. furthermore this is my first time dealing with this type of situation and i think im handling it quite calmy and efficiently. i will either schedule an appointment with my doctor or go to the hospital if i break out in a fever, or if the anti-b's do not rectify the problem.

attempting to draw puss from the area would seems like a reasonable course of action to me as a means of determining whether it is in fact an abscess or not. i did this too soon and will not attempt again. i do not believe this inflamed the area much more than it would have been without intervention, or had any other mentionable effect on the area.

i am handling this situation as i have read it should be dealt with according to the members of this board and those that have responded to this thread.

I was not trying to bust you balls bro. I do think you might have jumped the gun trying to drain the lump that soon and quite possibly just added to the discomfort in the area. I don't believe it is a recommended practice to pin in an inflamed area as the swolen tissue is easily damaged. I do sympathize with you as wondering whether or not you have an infection can be a redoubtable experience.

ok well a little update and one last question. i recieved my pen G procaine about 2 days ago and have dosed it twice using 1ml (300,000 units). both morning i have woken up the disgusting lump has shrunk in size by about 1/5 and no longer has red streaks.

i have been keeping the pen G procaine in the fridge but i have an event coming up at my house soon in which many individuals will be going in and out of my fridge and i cannot keep an injectable anti-B in the fridge during this time.

so....can i stick with the "cool dark place" (back of a safe?) scenario or should i make some arrangements.
