Hypothetical AAS injection question

This is JUST hypothetical. I haven't done this, and I'm not proposing to, so please don't feel the need to scold or warn me as if I were embarking on a risky adventure. I'm not. I'm ONLY asking for the sake of knowledge and learning.

Here's the question: What would happen if, instead of administering AAS via IM, one were to inject AAS into bodyfat, akin to how insulin or melanotan are done? Would it just not work? Would it work but not as well? Would it work just fine?

injecting into fat runs up the risk of an abcess and the fact it would hurt like a bitch

Why would there be more risk of abcess than with injections of melanotan?
