i agree, don't cycle anything during this. i would still lift though, light however. that much time off would drive me crazy.
Yeah it would - but keep messing with it until you're laid up for a year with a tendon injury and then you'll know the meaning of SUCK
I didnt tear a pec, but damaged a rib at the costal joint (costalchondritis), and tore a tendon in that same area. It SUCKED, BAD. I couldnt do one pushup or a dip without being in pain...I ended up borrowing a friend's phsyican therapy text book and following the advice in there for a similar injury. I wasnt back solid for nearly 12 months.
You do have to start exercising the area to stretch the new muscle/scar tissue and promote healing by encouraging bloodflow, but only after its started to heal. Seriously, eat right, take your vitamins,and STAY OFF IT for 6 weeks or so.
