Post Testosterone Cyp HRT sexual dysfunction issues.

Good Day! I’m hoping I can get some sound advice on what I think is pretty common but nevertheless frustrating.

My Urologist put me on Test cyp after my labs showed low T in the 200’s back in May’17.

I stopped HRT with Test cyp after 8 months. I’m exactly 1 month post and I feel like if I didn’t have to piss I wouldn’t even know I have a penis. I was on 200mg a week injection. I stopped because of weight gain, HBP, and tenderness under my left nipple. My labs were never really consistent and my Doc wanted me to Start using pellets as it would regulate the test, Estro, and bp better. That made sense but it would cost me nearly $600 more.

So I stopped and decided to give it a break.
But now my test went down within the 200 range, I can’t get aroused, can’t get or hold an erection, my scrotum went back to normal so the shriveled sack I had while on HRT is gone, but my penis is somewhat desensitized and just perpetually limp! Needless to say this causes a lack of confidence, some irratabilty, and overall not happy.

Besides going back on HRT how can I jump start my system to start producing more test on its own? I’ve been using a Tribuus supplement and occasional Maca powder but to no avail. I’m 44 yrs old, 250lbs, definitely could lose some weight but generally I’m healthy. No diseases or chronic illness. I drink and smoke socially maybe once a week.

I’m looking forward to hearing suggestions!

Thanks

So you had a crappy protocol, never addressed it, and then went cold turkey after 8 months on. You are simply shutdown. So you are checking all the boxes to feel terrible for a long time. Not that I am against it, but adding to this, drinking is only serving to further decrease and inhibit any test production and increasing e2.

I see this as 2 options. One, you can go back to your Urologist and explain what you did and see if you can get on Clomid to kick start things and then taper off. Two, you can attempt a self PCT and hope for the best, but it could take awhile after being on TRT for 8 months.

Personally, I would be working with my specialist and fix this. It would be different if you had just run a cycle and weren't already working with a doctor. Considering you were, I would now try to use that for help.

You need to recover.
Obviously you are shutdown.
You could also have just lower ed your test until you found a happy medium.
But you can't just stop after 8 months......well you can but your going to have problems.
Get some Clomid from the internet bro

I’d look for a more knowledgeable doctor. Your urologist could’ve fixed pretty much every problem you had but decided not to; and to make it even worse, he just makes you go cold turkey after being shutdown for 8 months.

Reread the post. His doctor didn't advise him to stop, he did it on his own.

So many issues here that can be corrected with a proper doctor and changes on your part:

1) 200 mg per week may have been on the high end. Your estradiol levels may have increased to the point you were feeling the excess water retention and overall weight gain.

2) Usually TRT helps improve BP but personally I find high doses of testosterone increases my BP. Your hematocrit level may have increased as well and that adds to BP issues.

3) Pellets are a terrible TRT protocol as you have to go to your doctor to have them implanted and testosterone dose can’t be adjusted once they are implanted. Injections are much better.

4) Nipple tenderness can be related to high estradiol level. Again, you need proper bloodwork.

Can I suggest you contact a sponsor here at AM called Entourage Medical? I’ve been very happy being a patient for TRT. trtdoc can help you further.

You don’t know that for sure. And even if it was his choice to stop, his doctor should’ve tried and helped by putting him on some clomid. Not to mention the reason he probably stopped in the first place was due to his doctor poorly-managing his trt by starting at such a high dosage, not prescribing an aromatize inhibitor (which he probably needed given his issues) etc etc. His doctor is a dumbass, end of the story.

Wow thanks for all the insight. So let me clarify a few things cause some valid points have been made.

I chose to stop, but planned on going back to Doc to get labs drawn again and re up on script. I was all out of injections and it was closing in on the end of the year. So There were challenges with getting an appointment, Ins coverage, deductible, all that crap. On top of that I was getting fed up with spending 2 plus hours in his office for a 20 min. Consult. My plan was to go back get labs, new script have issues addressed and go from there. That didn’t happen. Could I have been more persistent in getting in to see him....sure... but when you feel like crap sometimes you make dumb decisions like stopping cold turkey.
And the icing on the cake.... that jerk left the practice as of last week and now I’ve got to find a new Doc. This whole thing is freeking stressful. I think Clomid or AI May be a good option. Any suggestions on where to purchase.

I’ll be sure to check out Entourage Medical in the meantime.

Get bloodwork in the meantime. I’d do some searching online for knowledgeable physicians in your area; obviously one’s with experience in trt and hrt.

Sounds like you needed an AI with your trt. No doubt about it, find a doc that will get you some hcg with your protocol as well as an AI. First things first, do a little research find a new doctor. If I were you I would order some Clomid now and take 25mg a day. Although if you are looking to get back on trt it may boost your test levels too high for a doctor to prescribe you some test cyp. If you don’t mind me asking what we’re you paying out of pocket monthly for trt?

Your best bet is to look for a referral to an endocrinologist.

Entourage hormones like kenpoengineer said...they do Test Cyp, an AI, and Hcg for a very reasonable price.

1RX was a 6 month supply of Test, needles, and alcohol swabs= $22. I’ve got damn good health Ins. Although they wouldn’t fully cover the Pellets and that was going to run me close to $600. Any reputable Clomid distributors you all would recommend?
