After over three years of an original low testosterone diagnosis and over a year of constant tests, my doctor has finally agreed to start me on a TRT/HRT course :D
However, he has offered me two different options.
Option A) Clomid 25mg ED
Option B) Testogel 4g ED

I've done quite a lot of research into both but would just like to know people's real opinions and actual experiences with either of these, and some thoughts of which would be the better option to go for.

Reps for responses.
Thank You

Total Testosterone-206ng/dl
Free Testosterone 2.75ng/dl

My goal is to increase my testosterone levels so that I can feel better, have more energy, start to enjoy life, gain some sexual interest/actually have a libido and maybe even start a family.

Isnt testogel 5gm sachets/packets?

If I had to choose between the two treatments longterm, Id much prefer the gel. But then the issue of (in)fertility is no factor for me.

Pros and cons to both options. But, Id much rather be trying to deliver the target hormone.

If your under 35 I would probably go the Clomid route. It can raise your test significantly. T-Gel is garbage.

You could try the Clomid for a few months and see what kind of impact it has. If your still not feeling better and are low then you could look at TRT injections. Any "male" clinic will give you the real stuff with those numbers. But TRT is a serious commitment for life! Thats why I would try the Clomid first.

Tgel is "garbage"?

Ok, if we are going to speak in bro absolutes:

Clomid is garbage as hrt, makes people feel like sh1t.

OP is in UK, so Im doubtful there are many male clinics that will treat with IM.

I'm 24 now. I've asked repeatedly for the "real stuff" injections but they said that isn't an option due to my age and the risks would outway the rewards, especially as there are so many "safer" routes to try first...hence the gel or clomid protocols.
I've been going through constant tests, endo's, dr's and specialists now for over two years so this gel or clomid HRT/TRT thing is a massive breakthrough in my life. I mean, this might actually do something for me!

Clomid does seem like the better option of the two from what I've read. I've gone through lots of forums and logs and most of the Clomid reviews seem to be the most trusted and effective. People have been using it to raise testosterone for PCT for decades so it must work.

There are very few male clinics over here in my price range and even with those I need an NHS refferal from my GP. So again, injections still wouldn't be a considerable option yet.

If starting a family is a priority Clomid as you answer since test will shut down your sperm production.

Clomid is a short term solution and injections are long term.

Six months is the usual starting point I think he said, with bloods done every 8 weeks.
Having kids isn't exactly a main priority right now, but I would like the option in a few years time maybe.

Clomid makes me feel like death, and TRT isn't a guaranteed no kids ever kind of deal. You can either have your sperm frozen and saved, use HCG, come off Test and onto Clomid when trying to have a kid, or adopt one of the many kids who are already born and need a home. Lol

How much Clomid do you use?
There's no point in freezing my sperm...There's only about 8 of them haha!

I have used 50mg and 25mg a day. They both give me terrible headaches all day long, 25mg does lessen it about half but it is still a miserable couple weeks when I am on it.

But, Clomid can be useful at as little as 12.5mg three days a week from what I have seen, so don't let my bad experience push you from a lower dose approach.

He'll prescribe me 25mg every day for the first four weeks, then at the four week point I'll have bloods taken to see if it's working and adjust from there. Is there anything I can do or take to offset the sides you mentioned?

I could never do anything to get rid of it, possibly dosing at night before bed.

The only people I could find getting headaches from it really were on infertility forums with women.

In your experience, how effective would you personally say Clomid is at actually raising testosterone levels?
Very good, I've used Nolva alone and Nolva with Clomid together in PCT and felt much better after PCT of both of them versus Nolva alone.

Would you recommend that I add some Nolva to my Clomid, or would it be best to wait and see what the solo Clomid does first? I'm already thinking about adding some KSM-66 to help with the mood sides.

There are a ton of people with no bad side effects from Clomid. Don't psych yourself out you will probably be fine especially at 25mg

KSM-66 has quite a few health and testosterone related benefits, so I can't see the harm in it.

Don’t worry about the sides as of now, you get them or you don’t. I love Clomid and I do 1 or 2 4-8 weeks cycles a year and last time I got my levels from low 400’s to low 900’s doing 25mg for 8 weeks! I feel great on Clomid, but, I wouldn’t do more than 8 weeks...

LOL that a Transdermal Test is any different, safety wise, than an injection. It's actual Testosterone going into the blood stream. It's also more natural (healthy) than a synthetic drug if taken long term IMO. Are they hoping that a "restart" will occur and you will stop the Clomiphene? Did they determine what the cause of the Hypogonadism was? If you go Clomid and then stop - wait 8 weeks before checking levels would be my advice. Go the Clomid route and see what it does, it's 3 months out of your life - after that (I'll assume no improvement) get the Gel (or...since you is a Brit, something else you'll have to monitor yourself - but its legal for you to possess).

How do you run your Clomid cycles, like do you use any ancillaries alongside it to improve the effects or prevent any sides?
What are the most noteable benefits?

Clomid not for hrt, in this case the doc wants to kick start the hypothalamus without using exogenous test. I tried the clomid route first. I didn't get in with it so now on sust after trying nebido. OP try one or the other and see what happens. Don't use t gel if u cuddle your wife on a night cis she may get virilised and u don't want that. Good luck

As I said, after three years of tests and being fobbed off, this offer is actually quite a breakthrough. So it's worth a shot, especially as I'll get all of the drugs and blood tests for a relatively cheap price compared to sourcing my own stuff AND I'll know that it legit pharma grade.

I take 25 mg first think in the morning and I feel great, I feel pretty good from the beginning but a little since I feel&look a little tighter and strength going up nicely.

I don’t take any “support” supps but I take some anti e like DIM or something for a few weeks after, not sure if it’s necessary or not though.

I probably asked my Dr for another Clomid cycle in January :)

I can’t give any advice on long term though since I never used it longer than 8 weeks, I was on TRT (Cyp) for 2,5 yrs a couple of years ago and not really looking to start that again so as long as a few weeks of Clomid a few times a year works for me I keep doing that.

I understand, but I based my comments on the OP clearly stating the doc intended the clomid or tgel as hrt, not "lets try the clomid as a kickstart then maybe hop onto tgel".

CLOMID is much better option if your 24 yo. May even restore test levels to normal "restart" listen to your body, if you feel less than good half dosage to 25mg eod. Add a quality herbal test booster for 8 weeks on 8 weeks off protocol.

What are your thoughts on adding something like OL's Ar1macare Pro to my Clomid as a type of Cycle Support?

I've already been looking in to adding a natty test booster to help build on to the Clomid. AlphaMax and Sup3r-PCT both look good and are reasonably priced.

It’s not needed, just use Clomid by itself to start with and see how it goes, wait to add something before your first blood test so you can see exactly what it’s doing for you

Seeing as Clomid acts as an estrogen, ehat are the chances of running into estro sides from 25mg ED?

Don't start taking a bunch of plant crap when trying to see if Rx drugs are doing what they should. You're not going to get gyno and no "booster" is going to do anything when the Clomid (hopefully) jacks your levels to 1100. Clomid was developed in the 60s and has been given to umpteen millions of people, including men off label. Enclomiphene is newer, but no idea if it's being readily Rx'd yet - you can ask though.

So kind of like prescription drug style Natty Test Booster run/cycle? 8 weeks on followed by 4-8 weeks off.

Something like that but I stay off for a few months. I might take some natty test booster here and there but it’s mostly for fun..
