I'm on TRT and it allegedly backfills hormonal pathways, and TRT lowers DHEA.

Some reasons to take DHEA if you are on TRT.

  • It can boost Free Testosterone (Not total Testosterone, sorry guys)
  • Raises DHEA levels, lowered by TRT
  • Improves Erectile Dysfunction (No increase in PSA or Prolactin either)
  • Brain Boosting with regard to perceived physical and psychological well being
  • Sleep Aid, as DHEA can increase time in Stage 4 sleep (REM) which is nice if you like to dream
  • Cortisol Reduction, but this is not exactly contended amongst studies, so it's speculation
Ultimately, this is probably only best used if you are on TRT and older, like myself or have been tested as being low.
Definitely consult with your doctor about it and possibly Pregnenolone.
