Carnitin and Cytomel (T3)

I have read that you shouldnt take Carnitin with thyroid medication(Cytomel).
Is it OK to take them apart like 25 mcg Cytomel in the morning and 2g of ALCAR in the evening pre workout?
Or should I totally avoid carnitin?
I asked my Doc but he didnt know what carnitin is:)
