Which are the VERY most important blood tests to have run before and after a cycle?

I am going through an online place and hoping to keep the price under $100 IF possible.

Thanks

I'm sure I could get the work done through my doctor and insurance. But think of this: appointment to see my doctor -- good luck getting in any time soon

co-pay for the doctor -- $10-25 depending on coverage.

another appointment to go to sonora labs (or other lab)

If this were a one time a yeart thing, sure I would just go to my doctor and get a full work over. What is my doctor going to say when my HDL is bottomed out and my LDL is traking off. How about my test, BP, etc etc. I don't need this stuff in my "permenant record".

Now I have had a few done in the last several months and have become aware of my baselines and low levels. I will not be testing quite as frequently as I have been recently. But I will not do more than two more cycles without bloodwork again.

Personally (no offense intended toward you or anyone else) if you are unable to drop $75 every couple months for bloodwork you should not be using these methyls in the first place.

is it that big of a deal for low levels to be in your medical records? I was gonna go to my doctor to get bloodwork done, the bloodwork is done in the same building and you can go right after the doctor visit. But if this record thing is a big deal I am not.

I would not but then again I am a paranoid mother F-er

The place that are in the links up above you can actually do it ALL anonymous. I mean I just read you can actually send in a M.O. and they state you can give them a fake name. Then when you go to get the blood drawn you have GOT to sign the form and they say go ahead and sign with the fake name.

MIGHT be a good idea.

My point about the permanent record is that these spikes or disturbances may be used in the future to help treat or diagnose a serious medical condition. They may mislead your doctor in diagnosing something that is not what it is.

IOW...Mr.(insert your name) I see that you have had low HDL the last two check-ups, and now your liver values are running very high. I want to have you go to a specialist to diagnose your condition. In the mean time tell your family to prepare for the worst.

I'm exagerating of course...but you get my point, don't you?

point well taken. I think that this paranoia that people "have" to get blood work done is a little over rated. I think, that ph users are responsible about there ph use, but obsess a little too much. I know aas users that take 50mg of d-bol ed for three months striaght!!!! It seems that aas users are more daring (and prehaps stupid), but I think as long as people use methyls well spaced apart and only do 3-4 cycles a year, most people will be fine, fleeting dips in these levels wont kill anyone.

Not gonna argue with you but have you seen what the hdl/ldl looked like on a few indiviuals after just 2 weeks on M1T. To do that, unchecked, several times a year could very well be fatal. Some methyls do justify the paranoia and the testing...IMHO

I agree with you on the m1t, its is not something to f*** around with. But many most other methyls are way less hepatoxic than m1t.

Many are ignorant to the sides of androgens never mind methyls. Ignorance kind of hinders responsible actions and or precautions.

Excellent dialogue :)

Yes less hepatoxic but how much?

For me $70 is not bad to make sure my liver etc is ok.

Have you seen some of the AFTER numbers for superdrol?

I think the only uncanny level was SS's HDL level - got quite low..I think 13 or something - like what one would expect from M1T(check out his diary) but other than that the few testers that did get blood done, it wasn't as harsh as M1T although HDL did drop a bit..

SS's log: http://anabolicminds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22044&page=1

The thing with SS though, I think he barely came off his M1T before starting SD so that may have something to do with it...

There is very little chance your tests could ever get used against you for any reason. There is legislation called HIPAA that would destroy a doctor's practice should your info ever get leaked. There is also very little a doctor could diagnose without you wholeheartedly agreeing with his instructions and since you would know why your readings looked the way they did, you would know whether or not anything was needed.

As for needing bloodwork. I have not done any PH's yet, but I strongly suggest you do it. At minimum once a year. You would not believe the weird things that can show up. Just tell your doctor you want to get tested for what many testing companies call an "anti aging" screen and most insurances will cover it.

Anti aging panels are just a set of tests that are geared toward things we care about like all the ones noted above, as well as test, IGF, DHEA, etc. Based upon your obvious interest in bodybuilding, a doctor will understand why you would about these things. It is not that big a deal as many senoirs get this to see if hormone therapy woudl improve their quality of life.

The below is the most cost effective and comprehensive one I have found. Company is directlabs.com. The comprehensive wellness panel is a pretty good basic test to be done more often to rate your effects from your cycles.

In my opinion this is as important as good diet and training, but that's probably based on the things I've seen in test results.

Testosterone,Total and Free is a hormone that causes male characteristics. The blood level is used by men to investigate abnormal sexual development and sexual dysfunction. Small amounts are produced in women's ovaries and levels are tested to evaluate virilization.
DHEA, SULFATE Hormone produced in adrenal gland that causes the formation of male features and used to monitor treatment with drugs that reduce DHEA.
Progesterone (for women)Blood levels are used in infertility evaluations to confirm the presence of ovulation and to monitor the effectiveness of medication-induced ovulation. Interpretation of a single progesterone level must take into account the phase of menstrual cycle or the duration of pregnancy.
PSA (for men) The prostate specific antigen (PSA), is a protein made only in the prostate gland. PSA is produced by normal, abnormal and cancerous prostatic tissue.
