So all the Andro products got me wondering if anyone had ever tried running regular DHEA at high doses. If so, how high would you go? Waste of time and money? Other concerns? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Andro is all about the blends and the delivery. U Can't just throw a lot of dhea against a wall and call it andro. Walmart vitamin section would get plundered if it were that easy...

I suggest you run a search with the key word "DHEA" and username "Dr.D".

Although some of his stuff was controversial and unconventional because it contradicted the "on paper data" some were quite efficacious. I am speaking of DHEA and not the products that are multiple precursors with multiple conversions.

He has an interesting and quite contradictive theory to the conventional DHEA mindset of it being estrogenic and lacking any anabolic/androgenic potential. I have seen evidence that supports his theory.

dhea is able to bind to/interact with the androgen receptor, how ever weakly, but it also has been shown to bind with/interact with estrogen receptors as well.

most of the dhea will be converted into an inactive metabolite via the stomach acids.

I did not notice anything from 1,000mg e/d of dhea (as compared to 4-androstenediol) but I do feel it helps with immune function, as well as an overall sense of well being.

try it and see what you think. dhea is cheap.

I bet your blood work would reveal high estrogen levels out of range.

Not a fan of mega dosing plain dhea....
