I frequently see posts about AAS and their effect on immune function. Given my career and knowledge base, I wanted to dedicate a thread to understanding the overall effects of AAS on immune system function/integrity.

The journal source I've posted below hits on some key factors of the potential physiology/pathophysiology involved. The immune system in general is incredibly dynamic. There are plenty of factors going into AAS use that can already have an attenuating effect on your immune system (e.g., underlying disease states, corticosteroid use, immunosuppresive medications, etc). I'll gladly address any specific questions that you may have in general.

First, a brief overview of the Cell Mediated and Humoral Immune response mechanisms. Think of your T-Cells (cell mediated immunity) as your immune systems "soldiers" and your B-Cells (humoral immunity) as the overall "intelligence network" behind the initial and future attacks:
